It happends with Internet Explorer,Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, when I post long messages in forums or blogs,or when I upload files in hosting websites like imageshack or megaupload,Firefox tells me that "The connection was reset"
In the other computer I have I can upload files without problems and I don't get errors, the two computers share the same net.
So I don't know why my notebook reacts like that when I try to upload files or write long posts in forum..is it only my notebook's problem or is it a Issue of the Acer Aspire 5735Z Notebooks, and how can I repair it?
I have an Acer notebook, Aspire 5735Z. Each time I turn on my computer I have to disable the touch pad using Fn plus F7. This disable function is not permanent though. Is there a way to disable the touch pad permanently?
When I go to the Backup and Recovery, and I have not yet created a factory default disc, to do so... it does not do that. How can I create a factory default disc?
I currently have the 5735z aspire. My problem lies with Acer not having any support for this notebook. I have been searching for anything to give a bios update. I have found the 5730 aspire is practically a mirror of my laptop except for the screen size.(5735z has a 15.6) I was curious if I could use the updates for the 5730 on mine. They both have gl40 chipset and the same cpu. I noticed the bios updates starts at 1.07 and goes up to 1.14.
Mine is currently 1.07. So my question is can I use the bios for the 5730?
Just purchased a 5735Z and I know it's not going to be the most powerful machine when it comes to games, but i've found its performance dismal in even some of the older games.
I've been playing quakelive a bit lately, but I can't run it past 800x600 without major lag, and fullscreen is unplayable even at 640x480. I installed Sims 2 just to test out an older game and that is running at about 15-20fps max at lowest detail.
I've tried updating the drivers, and I have the latest chipset and graphics ones. Do you think installing XP would help performance? Also what about using a 64bit operating system - is the T4200 a 64bit chip and would that help at all?
I am trying to perform a factory reset for a Acer laptop but I cannot find an option that I am looking for.
I hit ALT + F10 at bootup and I get to the eRecovery Management screen.
From here, I get two choices:
1. Restore system to factory default. 2. Restore system from CD/DVD
As, I do not have any DVDs, I choose option 1. After that, the recovery process continues without any more prompts and restores the laptop to its default settings.
Here is the problem but. The laptop has a 120GB Had drive which after factory reset is split into 2 partitions of 55GB each with the remaining 10GB for the hidden recovery partition. Thus there is 3 partitions in total.
As it is Vista Premium, C: is already 50% full straight after the factory reset.
Is there any way I can perform the reset and have an option to just have one C drive of 110GB? I did not see any such option when performing the reset by using ALT + F10. There doesn't seem to be an option for this when performing the reset from within Windows itself.
I was thinking maybe deleting the D partiton before performing the reset may help but I am not 100 percent sure as I am not sure if the factory image contains 1 or 2 partitions.
I have just purchased an Acer Aspire E5-511, it repeatedly loses internet connection (wifi) despite still showing as being connected. I have read that numerous other people have experienced this problem but I have not found a solution that works. I have tried updating the driver and changing the battery power settings etc. I have spent ages transferring all my files accross so am reluctant to have to send it back now.
I've seen quite a few issues with Windows 8.1 and WIFI on this forum, but this one is a bit different.
I've got a brand new Aspire E 15 that came with windows 8.1. When connected to the network by cable everything works fine. When I try to connect via wifi strange things start happening.
I can see my network. I try to connect and it asks me for the security key. Then it connects. About 1 minute later it says it can't find the network. Other devices that were happily working on that networks wifi suddenly loose connectivity as well (hard wired devices don't seem to be affected). I end up having to reboot the router so wifi works for the other devices.
I made sure the Atheros AR956 adapter has the latest driver - v10.0.0.285 and all windows and acer updates are installed.
For a while now the wireless connection on my laptop has been very unstable. I had used it for about six months without experiencing problems, but a month or two ago I started getting very frustated with it.
The wireless can be turned on just fine and has no trouble finding available networks. No problem here. But when I try to connect to one it rarely works, and the few times were it does connect, the internet is incredibly slow. I would say it works flawlessly and fast about 10% of the time. The rest of the time it's like I just explained; it either won't connect or is too slow.
I don't know what suddenly caused this, since it worked perfectly when I bought it. Updating the wireless card drivers didn't work.
I have an acer aspire e1-571 g and since last week ,my internet connection (broadband or wireless ,no matter wich i use) drops randomly ..and i can't reconnect untill i restart my laptop..i've tried to change MAC,drop ip,reinstal windows, reinstal drivers of ethernet and wireless,no result.. I'm starting to think that my motherboard is faulty..??
I've been using my netbook at my local library for 3 years. Acouple weeks ago, all of a sudden it lost contact with the library's wifi connection. The librarian tried everything he knew, no results. I later borrowed a laptop from the library, looked up fixes, tried them, but they didn't work.
Here's what happened: Got a padlock with a window saying failed to connect to a Windows service. The dependency service/group failed to start. A troubleshoot resulted in a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it, saying network proxy settings can't be detected, though it also says detected.
Trying the fix on Acer support--checking to see if TCP/IP is working right--resulted in an error message, TCP/IP improperly installed. Trying rewriting the registry keys didn't work. Ditto the remove/reinstall network driver adapter. Finally it said if this doesn't work, there's likely a hardware problem.
I recently sold my Aspire 5002 WLMi notebook to a friend who changed too many settings and mussed up the BIOS in record time.... 10 days. I got most back by using a restore point but noticed he had a BIOS password requirement for booting up. I went to change that and set the new password with blank fields....save and quit....reboot....
...and whoops. Neither does a blank field nor his old password work now. in hindsight, I recall it was odd how some of his BIOS options had been greyd out and realized he must have a supervisor and another BIOS password. Swears he doesnt remember what he did. Now, we're locked out with 3 tries and error code 00000.
I removed the CMOS battery but unlike desktops I've messed with, I cant find any jumpers or marked pads to short out. Read somewhere that Acer now uses some form of flash memory. I cant find any documentation on this and Acer hasnt answered my email. Most of their sites dont even list this version of laptop. I bought it in Amsterdam at the end of 2005 but their Netherlands site is only in Dutch, a language I cant begin to decipher.
Anyone have ideas on this or possibly a motherboard schematic with lables? I looked at lists for Acer MB's and theres not a single number printed on here that resembles those lists I found.
I bought my Acer Aspire E1-57G 2 months ago. U put win7 64bit on him and installed som drivers. All worked fine for some time. 1 week ago my internet slowed down randomly, and only on this notebook.
I googeld a little bit and i decided to go for win 8.1 and original drivers. I installed everything but the problem with WLAN adapter was still there. If i started loading a web page sometimes it loads completely with no problems and everything is fine for some time (5 min) then pages start to loading slow or not at all. And like that all the time.
When I download something it ether downloads "fast" like 500 - 800 kbps or not at all 0kbps. On other notebooks wireless connection is ok, and at the same time when thisone is slow others do well. Win update is not slowing connection (OFF), firewall is ok, power management set to be max for wlan adapter. I tried every solution that i found on the internet.
So what is the problem (is it WLAN adapter) and how to fix it?
I have Acer Aspire 5810TZ-4433 (Model MS2272) laptop unit. The HDMI connection to my TV functioned correctly until yesterday when it will no longer show the desktop icons or live internet connections on my TV screen. I have wallpaper which shows (The MS wolf theme that is included in the Win 7 Pro OS) just fine but no desktop icon overlays nor will it show the live internet windows.
The laptop itself appears to be functioning normally. For some reason the HDMI cable is not carrying the other digital data to my TV screen.
In summary: Laptop screen shows all the icons on the desktop with them overlaying the "wolf" wallpaper background. I have normal functioning of the computer when I click on these icons.
TV screen: Shows only the 'wolf" wallpaper background. No other information is viewable on the TV
I have tried using different HDMI inputs on the TV using several different HDMI cables all without success. To my knowledge there has been no damage to the laptop's HDMI output connector.
I bought my laptop like 1 month ago, and after update windows 8.1 Browinsg started extra slow, playing games with highest ping, While playing games i can see enemies but i cant do anything to them,After while when i opened my laptop i got black screen nothing was on only the power light were on. Somewhere say there is a unupdated BIOS...
I have an Aspire 5733Z laptop which occasionally gives me the above message. When it does, I leave it alone for 3 or 4 days and when I turn it back on, it works again. I have already gone once to a technician, but when I got there, my laptop was working fine. I have noticed that if I demand to work with Mozilla Firefox or some complex video sites, it crashes How do I go about getting a boot disk?
I own this model since May 2013, and all this time I have this problem:
In my drivers list the NVidia GeForce Mobile sometimes is present and most of the time not.
When it suddenly appears it will stay for a few days or weeks and I can play all the modern games happily. But then something will happen computer will reboot and the driver is no longer in the list, and for month until it will appear suddenly again.
This already happened about 5 times. Unfortunately I cannot go to the repair because I bought this device in Taiwan and now I am in rural Russia.
I suppose it might be a microcrack in the PCB or maybe a bad sensor or a bad cable, who knows. This is definitlely not a driver or software issue. Or is it?
This device is very good, but without GeForce it looses about 25% of it's value.

how to reset jumper setting for hardisk and cdrom drives. ...this problem occurred after setting-up cd-rom drives as master using eeprom utility. when i check the bios utility hardisk not detected and cd-rom drives shows instead.
I have an Aspire 2920 laptop with Windows Vista Home Edition O.S. It starts and works fine except that after I was using it with an external monitor (a flat screen tv) on the option to use external monitor, it only now starts thinking the monitor is the flat screen tv and does not recognizes the normal laptop screen. The laptop screen is now "pixeled" and only shows like 2/3 of its total width. I've checked in Control Panel and it has the flat screen registered as the "normal" monitor, but I can not way a find to tell the computer that the monitor is the same as usual and not the flat screen tv.
So, I've had this problem from some time now. When I put my switch 10 to sleep, and then re-open it, the keyboard is not working anymore, like it has problem recharging drivers. Same issue happens sometime when I use it in tablet mode and then reconnect the dock to it, I've a very hard time trying to make the keyboard and touchpad working again. The fact is that the usb port on the dock doesn't seem to have any problem at all, only the touchpad and the keyboad. I can't figure out if that's a software or an hardware problem.
I'm having major problems with connecting to the wireless network in the office. It sees the network, allows me to enter the security credentials, then connects (with confimed internet connectivity) but drops out after 10-20 seconds. I have tried the wireless network at a friend's house which worked ok without any interruptions, so it is definitely nothing wrong with the hardware. I'm using a brand new Acer Aspire V3-572-56T3 on Windows 8.1, with all the latest drivers/patches loaded and have tried fiddling with many of the advanced settings for the network adapter to no avail. I logged on to the router to ensure all settings, encryption standards, channels etc. were matching but the problem keeps persisting. This has been ongoing for two days now and is driving me insane as I really need to have wi-fi working in the office. Plugging an ethernet cable straight into the router works fine but it's not the ideal solution (and is posing an OH&S hazard as it is laying on the floor).
FYI I have run diagnostics several times & the one thing that stood out was this:

I purchased my daughter an Aspire One 725-0687 last Christmas. She only used it a couple months and it has sat around for the past 5 months with no use at all. She went to use it today and couldn't remember her password. I tried several but continue to get the same response... "Your PC is offline. Please sign in with the last password used on this PC". For some reason, it's not connecting to wifi, I have removed the battery, I have attempted "safe mode" with Alt f5, f8 and even f10 and I get nothing except back to the sign in screen. I tried ALT, CTRL, DLT and it does nothing.
