Acer :: TravelMate 5510- Audio Not Working On A Brand New WinXP
Feb 11, 2009
I've just reinstalled Windows XP on a TravelMate 5510, and almost everything went fine.
All the drivers has been downloaded from here.
Now i got a problem and seems i can't get rid of it.
Audio is not working, but i installed the drivers correctly. The program (AzMixerSel.exe) crashes everytime i run it. I don't know if having this .exe working would let me hear something, but that's an issue.
I installed this audio driver -->
Am i missing something important?
Funny thing is that i got a kind of Bluetooth Audio Controller since when i installed this ->Bluetooth Driver 5.1.2535 and Utilitiy 5.0.1.1500.zip
My acre aspire 5510 notebook has got a problem I can not solve it.
- CPU usage is 98% - 100% and is hot while fan is working. when I press a key on the keyboard and hold down the key, the letter appears very late (after 6 or 7 seconds).so typing is impossible
- but at the same time when I use mouse the system is working normal and I don't have any problem regarding performance of the programs and the speed of the set.
When I shot down the computer it take a long time to be shouted down!
I was using my laptop one day (I was on Hotmail) and it just ground to a halt. I waited for about 45 mins but still nothing so I unplugged it and removed the battery. I recognise this may have not been the best way to deal with the problem. After that, I switched back on and it seemed to be booting up fine. After apparently loading and being ready to use, although the mouse/cursor would move around OK, it would not react when I tried to select something. It would occasionally put up the eggtimer as though something was happening but nothing ever did. Eventually it just goes black. I've tried alt, ctrl and delete as that's about as far as my technical knowledge goes but it didn't do anything.
The front light that controls the wireless no longer lights up when I push it. Win XP finds the wireless card and the drivers are installed properly, but I can't find any of the wireless networks that are in range. (Another Acer laptop and an HP one right next to mine finds the 3 that are in the area.)
Is the wireless card broken? Is there a setting that I need to change? Once it stopped working I formatted it, hoping it was a windows problem... still no dice.
If the card is likely broken, whats my next step? My warranty is done, is it possible to replace it? Where should I buy it, Acer or somewhere else?
manual for a 2356 Travelmate or how to remove the case to check if the keyboard connection has come loose? I have performed a factory type reset using the setup and recovery disks but the keyboard still does not work. I have plugged in a usb keyboard which works fine but using it defeats the purpose of having a laptop. The reset was needed as i believe something nasty had got on board. The reset has cleared this all up but the keyboard still does not work.
Travelmate 4010. I've had it for about 3 years now, and over the past *thinks* 6 months or so the power cord had been replaced twice because it broke. But it wasn't really the cord itself that broke the first time. Something inside the jack is broken and now the cord (a new one) has to be positioned just the right way so it doesn't switch to battery mode. I use it mostly on my bed, which probably doesn't help, but at one point I had to have it on a desk with the cord taped to the lid so it wouldn't move and kill the battery (which doesn't last that long). I couldn't even close the lid so I just had the monitor shut off after a minute. but I did get a new cord and started using it on my bed, storing it underneath when I'm not using it. After a while, though, the cord started to do the same thing and now I'm sitting here trying not to move on the bed too much so it doesn't disconnect. I'd like to get a new notebook, but I can't afford it.
I have an acer travelMate 8573 gt and I recently downloaded the drivers for the fionger print reader for the acer website but I can't make it to work because I don't have the acer pro shield where can i get it. How I can use to make my finger print reader to work...
I have a TravelMate TMP645-MG connected to ProDock II. The problem is that the USB ports on docking staion are not working, I can see the following yellow exclamation mark in device manager when the docking station is connected (no errors when not docked).  Windows 8.1 Enterprise, 64bit. All latest drivers from Acer homepage are installed.
I have a travel mate loaded with erecovery management. I keep getting a message "internet control panel has stopped working". This appears to be an appcrash; the guilty party being rundll32.exe. In addition "computer" has gone from my start menu and from windows explorer. Start menu.
I have carried out a sfc/scannow which says there are corrupted files that cant be repaired. System restore has not worked either. There appears to be 3 different options open to me to "restore" my system.
I have a Acer TM 4000 which I am trying to reinstall windows xp. I can boot into windows setup, but as soon as i get to "windows setup is starting windows" the laptop shuts down? i have tried different hard drives, changing the ram, trying battery only and a/c power only... all with the same result..
sometimes i can reach the screen that asks if i want to repair or install windows, but after a few seconds it shuts down
IDE to AHCI Here is what I have as IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller Intel ICH8M 3 port Serial ATA Storage Controller – 2828 Intel ICH8M Ultra ATA Storage Controllers – 2850 Primary IDE Channel Primary IDE Channel Secondary IDE Channel Secondary IDE Channel My laptop is a 5620z or 5620-4025 with a Hitachi HTS542512K9SA00 ATA Device. When I looked up this HD, it appears to be the standard SATA HD, or is it?
The original setup under VISTA, had ATA Channel 0 (twice) and ATA Channel 1 (twice) instead of the above Primary and Secondary IDE Channels.
The files to be used are in the requested C:Drive, yet I am reluctant to pull the trigger because I am not sure that I should nor am I sure which one of the above is the driver that is to be changed if when I make the change.
NO SOUND One other thing has be going in circles regarding sound with the Realtek software. The Manager in the 3D Audio Demo works fine………….but……..the MultiMedia, which is most important, indicates that there is NO Audio Device.
I bought an Acer 2920z and there is no audio. It is got RealteK High defination Audio, the driver version is the latest 6.0.1.5543. The Operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium.
I bought this last week and returned it as it was not working. The new one seems to not work as well.
I have acer 5570-4011 laptop with vista home (and ubuntu on a separate partition). I rebooted from cd, using winxp pe, deleted all files on vista partition, except those in the root, and started to install win xp pro. After installation files were copied to the hard drive, I restarted without cd and when setup continued, it gave me "file ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. Error code is 7".
On MS support site they say about ACPI or memory problems and suggest to press F7 during that step to skip ACPI check, but it doesnt help in my case.
The sound on my HP Pavilion G6-1a19wm is not working.  Sound "does" work when using the audio jack with external speakers. I have tried uninstalling the driver, updating the driver, microsoft fix-it, and troublshooting steps. audio device shows in device manager and is supposedly working properly, mute is "not' enabled. visually all audio related things suggest that the audio is fine and troubleshooting finds no problems..Â
I am using HP 2000-2313TU Notebook PC laptop with windows 8 64 bit operating system.  From the last few days i am facing some problems in audio..when i am opening my laptop the sound system is working well...but when i am not continuing any audio application( busy in some other work..) and after sometime say 20-30minutes when i am opening any audio or video file it is running without any sound..when i am restarting my computer again audio device works...if i am not using the audio files after opening my computer also this problem happens after sometimes when i play some audio files.
I have an Aspire V5-571G... I updated to Windows 8.1 (64bit) a few days ago.  Since the update, when playing audio on iTunes (was 11.3 but now updated to 11.4 both post win 8.1 anyway)/Windows Media Player and on YouTube & other sites, audio has stopped working completely or become extremely distorted. Sometimes it works fine but never for extended periods of time. I'm not sure what triggers the distortion and silence but it has ONLY been happening since the 8.1 update.  I updated the RealTek sound drivers with the driver for my model from the Acer website and it has not improved the situation. I've been looking around for a solution / cause of the problem and the only questionable driver I have is this: There's no update for this on the Acer site r.e. my model and the Windows online update thing cannot find an update either.  If it's not possible to fix this via updating or tweaking 8.1, is it possible to do a system restore back to Win 8 without removing my files and if so how?
I have recently upgraded to windows 8.1 on my Acer Aspire and unfortunately since then, Dolby Advanced Audio V2 refuses to work. I have uninstalled my audio drivers, and re-installed with the latest versions, I have uninstalled DAAV2 and re-installed, and it still does not work. I'm not really sure where to go from here. It launches properly and you can turn it on and off, but ultimately, it does not show any difference between having it on anymore or off. As well as the fact that the little panel you open where it shows the bars while you play music, doesn't move at all. I use my Acer Aspire mainly for music and youtube videos and the like, so this is rather important to me.
My Windows 7 Acer Aspire 5552 laptop 's display brightness has lessened and I can not even open Power Options in Control Panel. When I connect another monitor to my Acer Aspire the brightness is just fine. Audio service is not running either. What should I do?
I'm owning an ultrabook - HP SpectreXT 13-2106TU. No sounds coming out from my laptop for a few days now. I've tried troubleshooting - it says : IDT High Definition Audio CODEC has a driver problem.
I have a HP Pavilion G6-2252sa Notebook running Windows 8 and I have just installed 8.1. All is OK, except the equalizer function in Dolby Advanced Audio V2 is no longer working. You can still move the equalizer sliders but the actual sound quality remains the same. It just sounds flat as if all sliders are permanently set at zero.
Just updated to windows 8.1 and now my beats audio is not working on my HP ENVY x2 Tablet/PC. I am running windows 8.1 32-bit, Product name: HP ENVY X2 PC, Product number: C7F27AV, Serial number: 4CN312078X. Also my headphones are not working.Â
My Beats Audio keeps crashing when I try to open "Listening Experience". It has worked before, crashed before and began working again after I did some jiggling of things such as uninstall/reinstall driver, update/rollback driver, computer and HP troubleshooting, etc. (but I couldn't tell you what I did when or in what sequence) It has again decided to not work!  HP Pavilion dv6 B26us Windows 7 (64-bit) Error Message: "IDT PC Audio has stopped working"
After reading great reviews about it, I took the plunge and bought the 6935G last week.
Its a fantastic machine and I'm really delighted with it apart from one major problem - I can't get Windows Media Player 11 to run at all.
The installation of Vista SP1 appeared to go well and the machine seems to be operating perfectly in all other ways (apart from the sidebar not displaying gadgets properly which does not bother me much).
I can see WMP included in the list of programs when I click on the start menu and I can also see it in my "C" drive under Program Files but when I attempt to run it nothing at all happens. The blue circle appears for 1 or 2 seconds then disappears - thats all that happens.
I'm not sure if this is related but when I go to the Music section of Windows Media Center I get the message "A necessary component of Windows Media Center is currently not available "
As I'm a "silver surfer" with limited computer knowledge, I'm probably doing something stupid (or maybe forgettiing to enable something) but I would really appreciate help in getting WMP 11 to work on this otherwise fantastic machine.
As I use WMP to manage my music, its important to me.
I wish to share my experience of owning an ACER 7535G laptop for a fleeting few weeks.
I bought it from Currys on 9th August 2009 for £599.99, because my other laptop was getting kind of old. I work as a software developer so I needed to install all my development software on the new one. Because of this I could not even use it for the first 2 weeks because I did not find time to get everything on it (taking out Windows Vista and installing Windows XP being one of those). Eventually I started using it regularly about 3 weeks after I had bought it. Then exactly 5 weeks after I had bought it, it died on 13th September 2009!
It froze when I was working on it. The screen became garbled although I could still read the last thing I was working on (this to me suggested something wrong with the GPU, or its driver). I had to do a hard reboot by pressing and holding the power button. The next time it froze again before the windows login dialog was displayed, and there were a few pixles on the screen glowing psychedelically, and this time there was also some sound of static coming from the speakers. I tried to hard boot it again and after that nothing ever came up on the screen. The power and other lights do come on, but other than that it is completely dead.
The real shame about it was that it happened exactly 5 weeks after I had bought it. I took it back to the currys that I had bought it from and all they could do was send it back to Acer. They say that if it had happened a week earlier they would have offered a replacement or a refund, and obviously I would have gone for the refund because after this I do not have any confidence in the quality of Acer products.
