Dell :: 1.7Ghz @ 2.4Ghz But Shows Up As 1.7Ghz

Inspiron 9300 with 1 core Pentium M (1.7Ghz @ 2.4Ghz).
I have a problem with some older games like Deus Ex. These games ask your CPU "How fast are you?" and CPU gives it the default speed. Mine is overcloked, so CPU says its 1.7Ghz, but in reality its 2.4Ghz! So the game's speed is greatly boosted from that and it runs at insane speeds (can't even watch the intro!)
Power Options I am set at ALWAYS ON, so CPU is at full power at all times.
Is there a way to turn off SpeedStep such that CPU does not register as 1.7Ghz but as 2.4Ghz?

I'm trying to make a list of all notebooks that came with a P-M 735 so friends/acquaintances that are noobs can quickly look at and tell me if they've got a match. I'm looking for this CPU for a pin-mod.

My 8 month old "Mini 9" Inspiron 910 shows "operating system not found" on boot-up and bios shows HDD size of 0MB. Fixed shows STEC PATA 16GB-(PM).
I realize re-installing XP is my next bet but I can't boot to USB. maybe the Solid State HD DEAD?

All those who have a 2010 MBP and a 3rd party SSD, please try setting up bootcamp and let us know if it works.
Has anyone successfully setup bootcamp on any of the new macbook pros? When I use boot camp assistant, I am able to set up the partitions. However, once I enter the windows 7 install, it doesn't detect any partitions at all (not even my mac partition).
I've tried both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 7 (home, prof, and ultimate). The SSD is an Intel X25-V 40GB
UPDATE 1: Swapped the stock HDD back in and bootcamp install seems to work fine. Partitions were immediately recognized by my windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. Could Apple have blocked support for 3rd party SSDs somehow with these 2010 MBPs?

i own a dell Inspiron 9400 it did have 2gb 533mhz and scored 4.5 in vista. I have just upgraded to 4gb 667mhz and the score is still 4.5? The BIOS shows 4gb at 667mhz Dual, and in vista only 3.3gb of ram(know about only seeing 3.3gb in vista).
Not that im into the vista scores but is this normal or is something wrong here with my ram or laptop? As it should improve when i done this up grade.

I have an XPS m1530 with the built-in webcam along the top of the screen. When running XP Pro on this laptop I can see a USB device called "Laptop Integrated Webcam" in Windows Explorer, and when I click on that device the camera instantly comes up on my screen

When I switch on my laptop, I can hear the noise as if it is running however, cannot see anything. I know it isn't the screen and have a feeling it is the motherboard /graphics card (I use a lot of 3D/graphics software). I want it to last me at least another 6-8 months before purchasing a new laptop.

Latitude E6410, changed a bad HD for a new one. Installed windows 7. Besides having issues with WIFI and USB drivers, I cannot do a windows update, it shows a big red X, message I get is
" Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You many need to restart your computer"
I updated the bios, and rebooted like 15 times.

Yesterday my computer crashed 3 times for no reason so I went to check BIOS and by chance found out that my ram is actually 1066Mhz. The order sheet says I ordered 4GB, DDR3, 1333MHz 2 dimm, and I remembered I did as well. So, did Dell send me the wrong RAM?
Or, as I've googled, is this all a Dell marketing scam such that the 1333MHz ram we ordered only performs at 1066Mhz by default and you'll have to manually overclock it to perform at 1333Mhz (which may not be safe for the system)?

the driver driver struck in infinite loop.I tried running the PSA (Pre-boot System Assessment) diagnostics and check if there is any problem with the video card by tapping F12 key.It passes without any errors and i am able to boot the system to windows screen. I also to uninstall and reinstall the video card drivers to fix the problem but of no use.Main Problem is ATI X 1300 graphics which is going in infinite loop and Blue Screen.

I received a dell xps 17 l702x laptop a while ago, but I noticed today that under model in system properties, it displays that my laptop is a l502x laptop, dell's xps 15 line? I know that the outside of my laptop is an xps 17 as it is the correct dimensions and the hard drive covering on the back states l702x. I am confused to say the least.

My Inspiron 17R 5720 laptop (which came with windows 8) was working fine yesterday but whenever I try to turn it on today it shows the Dell logo briefly then goes to a black screen and remains like that. The F12 key works, but I can't change any settings as it will only let me highlight the diagnostics option. I've run diagnostics and recieved no error reports. Neither the F2 or F8 keys work, so I can't access BIOS or start in safe mode. I've tried removing the battery and unplugging the power.

My Inspiron 1525 when it starts up and I choose startup repair after a few seconds the screen will go black. If I start up windows normally, it will think and then shows a window that says " a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer".. I pressed F12 at startup and chose diagnostics and I got the error code 0142. What should I do??

I recently run into a problem, when I wanted to install my ANNO 1404 game, I inserted the disc into my laptop, but it shows no data, it simply looks to be empty. So I tried it in my desktop PC and there there is everything OK, disc is full, game can be installed. I left it be and after few days I wanted to see a movie, but after inserting the movie DVD into my laptop, I received this error in WMP: "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. In some cases, you can resolve the problem by updating the device driver for your video card." So I'm starting to think my DVD driver is somehow "wrongly set" or something like that. What can I do about it?
My OS is W7 Professional (on desktop too, so OS is not the issue), my laptop is Inspiron 15R SE 7520. Both DVDs (game and movie) are original, no stealing here.

I have two Inspiron 17R 5720, identical?, except bios in one only shows Sata options ATA and AHCI. The other show all Sata options ATA, AHCI, and Intel Rapid Start. Both are running Bios A14.
What can be changed to make both display all three Sata options?

Im using an Acer 5920G with Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz CPU.
CPU-Z shows the FSB at 200Mhz but the multiplier is only 8.0X when it should be 10.0X
I cant find a way to change the Multiplier in the BIOS either. Ive installed Win7 Ultimate and it recognises my CPU as 2.0Ghz so is CPU-Z wrong?

I have an HP Pavillion dv9500. It worked perfect up until about two months ago. One day I turned it on and the screen wouldn't show anything. The computer actually turns on and all of the keyboard lights turn on but the screen is blank. It seems like the backlight lights up because the screen turns into that light grayish color but it doesn't actually show a picture. I've hooked it up to my tv using an HDMI cable and I don't get a picture on the tv either.
I've read about people having the same issue with their HP pavillion and have tried numberous fixes from other forums online, but nothing has worked.

We have a Pavilion g6-2334sa notebook pc, 9 mos old. Never tried to use DVD before. When inserted, DVD turns but doesn't automatically run. When searched for in myPC, it shows in the available drives, with the DVD highlighted. Tying Open, it goes as far as showing Audio_TS and Video_TS. Clicking on Video_TS shows files currently on the disk, in this case 69. If I click on any of these, it takes me to Video tools rather than running the file. So, unable to get beyond this stage to actually get the DVD to play. CD's work fine by the way.

My studio 1555 plays 6 beeps and shows a black screen wen i turn it on.

I have a screen problem on my Laptop, on start-up it shows a white screen with black lines (Picture below) only happens once every 5-10 start-ups. Only happens for 5-10 Secs & sorts itself out before it boots up.
Other time it happens is when I'm using the internet, the screen just sticks, but then when I move the screen, it stops.
