Im using an Acer 5920G with Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz CPU.
CPU-Z shows the FSB at 200Mhz but the multiplier is only 8.0X when it should be 10.0X
I cant find a way to change the Multiplier in the BIOS either. Ive installed Win7 Ultimate and it recognises my CPU as 2.0Ghz so is CPU-Z wrong?
I have an aging M1210 with 2 gigs of ran, a OCZ SSD & the C2D 2ghz T7200 processor.
I wasnt really planning on an upgrade but the pricing looks pretty good.
I am not sure if its worth it though. My M1210 with SSD is amazing.
I just dont know if going from a 2.0 T7200 to a 2.66 T9550 is worth it or if i should wait longer for an I7 system in this size?
I put on cpu-z ( I got the crappy ram like some of the others) but what I thought was odd that it said FSB was 800 and multiplier was 8 and indicated my CPU was running at 1.6Ghz. Is this an error on CPU-z?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a used Acer Aspire One 8.9in Laptop 1.6GHz 1GB 120GB a couple of weeks ago, it works great the only thing that I've noticed is that it only charges the battery while powered on (that is running windows).
If I connect the AC but the laptop is off, it will not charge the battery like any other laptop.
if this is normal for this particular model or is this laptop malfunctioning?
My 8 month old "Mini 9" Inspiron 910 shows "operating system not found" on boot-up and bios shows HDD size of 0MB. Fixed shows STEC PATA 16GB-(PM).
I realize re-installing XP is my next bet but I can't boot to USB. maybe the Solid State HD DEAD?
i own a Hp dv6817tx, that comes with a T5750, i was wondering if it is possible to upgrade to the T7500, AND if so is it worth the upgrade?

I have tried turning off computer and letting batteries charge, tried turning of and holding power button, this model has internal batteries, I don't want to open laptop and try disconnecting batteries.

I have an Acer Aspire 7740-6656 that shows no signs of life. I have tried removing and replacing the battery as well as trying different locations to plug into power. I have even tried removing battery and power supply and holding start buttom 30 seconds. Except for a green light on the power supply cord, still no signs of life. What if any are my options?
View 3 Replies View Related My battery has not held more than about a 45-second charge since 2009; however, the AC adaptor seems to work fine, and the Power Management icon always tells me that I have a full (i.e., about 45-second) charge and that the AC adaptor is plugged in. Today, just after I disabled the Acer Tour Reminder, CyberLink PlayMovie, and Microsoft Office OneNote (because I never use them and I wanted a faster startup), I moved some program icons that I didn't need or that were already on my Quick Launch tool bar into the Recycle Bin. Suddenly, the notebook make sort of an electronic squeaking sound and immediately shut down--black screen; no lights.
I unplugged it, checked to ensure the battery was properly seated, felt to make sure it did not feel hot anywhere, plugged it in, saw that the lights were showing on the adaptor and on the front left edge of the notebook, turned it on, and selected normal start; it started up again. It ran for at least three minutes (which, because of the battery, it would not unless the AC adaptor was functioning) and then, after I moved a few more icons to the Recycle Bin, it suddenly shut down again in the same manner.
I started it again and it has now been running long enough for me to look up my Acer Forum registration information and update it after resetting my password. I am writing this on another notebook. The Acer is still running, but I want to ensure it doesn't shut down on me when I am in the middle of a project.
I have an HP Pavillion dv9500. It worked perfect up until about two months ago. One day I turned it on and the screen wouldn't show anything. The computer actually turns on and all of the keyboard lights turn on but the screen is blank. It seems like the backlight lights up because the screen turns into that light grayish color but it doesn't actually show a picture. I've hooked it up to my tv using an HDMI cable and I don't get a picture on the tv either.
I've read about people having the same issue with their HP pavillion and have tried numberous fixes from other forums online, but nothing has worked.
We have a Pavilion g6-2334sa notebook pc, 9 mos old. Never tried to use DVD before. When inserted, DVD turns but doesn't automatically run. When searched for in myPC, it shows in the available drives, with the DVD highlighted. Tying Open, it goes as far as showing Audio_TS and Video_TS. Clicking on Video_TS shows files currently on the disk, in this case 69. If I click on any of these, it takes me to Video tools rather than running the file. So, unable to get beyond this stage to actually get the DVD to play. CD's work fine by the way.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi own a dell Inspiron 9400 it did have 2gb 533mhz and scored 4.5 in vista. I have just upgraded to 4gb 667mhz and the score is still 4.5? The BIOS shows 4gb at 667mhz Dual, and in vista only 3.3gb of ram(know about only seeing 3.3gb in vista).
Not that im into the vista scores but is this normal or is something wrong here with my ram or laptop? As it should improve when i done this up grade.
I just bought an inspiron 17 r se, specs say memory at 1600 mhz. however when i ran speecy the memory only shows a speed of 798 mhz... what gives here ??

There is not even possibility to chose 4 or 5.1 speakers in device settings! only 2!
I tought ANY HDMI is capable do transfer also HIGH QUALITY sound (including 5.1 speakers) other then High quallity picture!
Do i need to download something ( like realtek high definition audio) ?
When i use HDMI connection from my desktop computer trough my TV im always able to change number of speakers in settings.
I ran Intels Processor Identification Tool, and it shows VT as enabled. I haven't installed VMWare yet, but I will shortly. Also, I haven't updated my Bios, but the VGN-Z690 bios update might be a possible solution for other(just a wild guess, I have no way of varifying).

" Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You many need to restart your computer"
I updated the bios, and rebooted like 15 times.
My Venue 11 charging with original 23w charger shows Alert on boot.
A 3w AC poweradapter has been detected, wich is less than the recommended Latitude xx 23W AC adapter originally shipped. etc ...
I keep on trying to switch it on but the power button doesn't work but it shows only the single blue light that indicates its charging each time i plug it. I really don't know what could be wrong but its really sad because i have lots of important things on that PC,.....
