View 11 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with this laptop. as written before, it shuts down in less than 5 seconds after powering it on.
Both HDD and Wifi LED are steady blue and the middle battery one starts blinking ( battery is not installed ).
System, I/O and TAA boards have been replaced without success. what else could be wrong, ?
nb : tests have been done with everything unplugged except screen cable and connectors cable.
when i was googling about the E4300 batteries, i found that 9-cell battery.

I have a 1 week old Latitude E4310 and the exhaust is always blowing hot air. I notice that the disk activity light always blinks even though the system is idle, or is it? Even though I have configured the advanced power to turn off HDD after 20 minutes (10 minutes when on battery), it seems that the HDD does not turn off at all because it is being accessed by something! What is it? Do you have an E4310? Is it hot?
View 15 Replies View RelatedThe integrated webcam on my E4310 is not being recognised anywhere. This is a topic which already has several previous discussions, but without any solution for me. The webcam doesn't appear in device manager:
and is not recognised on skype, or the Dell Webcam Central. When put through the Dell diagnostics test it says no camera is installed. Is it possible that there is no webcam on this laptop and what I see above the screen is something else?
I have reimaged my Dell E4310. But wifi is not working. I tried to download wireless driver but driver is failing during extraction.
How do I find out correct driver that can be used Windows 7 64 bit
I have a Dell Latitude E4310: My computer does not recognize my inter hard drive. I found thecd/DVD drive in my Devise Manager and it had "!" next to it and the devise status stated"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell E4310, about 2 years old. When I connect the charger just to a power socket the green light on the charger comes on but when I plug the other end into the laptop the green light on the charger goes off, I have taken the battery off the laptop and it still does the same thing, and in both cases the laptop will not power up and no light appears on it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically my 1640 laptop has worked perfectly pretty much constantly plugged into the mains for two weeks but now I have to charge it while switched off and then take the charger out when I switch it on, because otherwise the laptop just powers off after a minute of loading up Windows 7...
Also if I try to plug in the charger randomly then it just powers off.!
I have a Dell Inspiron 1750 laptop and it's 2 yrs old now.
For about 6 months, it was saying that my battery was reaching the end of its usable life and I needed to replace it. However, it still worked fine, I just had to keep it plugged in.
One night though, I realised when I turned it on that the message changed from that, and instead it just said "You need to replace your battery". It didn't shut down in my face or anything the same time though, I coninued to use it and when I was done I just shut it down as usual.
The next day when I tried to turn on my laptop, it wouldn't come on. I assumed that this was because the battery died, but my dad told me that if I removed the battery and plugged in the adapter it should still be able to work fine. I did try this, but it still didn't come on.
What I would like to know is if the problem is just the dead battery, or if something else is wrong... someone told me that it could be a problem with the motherboard...
I know for sure that all laptops don't work without the battery, are dell laptops like that too?
I have a dell inspiron m5030, which is out of warranty, and unfortunately it wont charge the battery, or boot from the ac adapter and since the battery is dead I can no longer turn on the laptop. I already sent this laptop back to dell 2 prior times when my warrenty was still active due to the 7 beeps and I think that the mother board is going bad for the 3rd time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAcer Aspire 2000. When a battery is inserted and the power cable is in, the charging light appears, I then switch on the laptop and it powers up within 5 seconds of it being on and trying to boot it will power down without notice.
If I remove the battery I can run the laptop fine off the mains. If I then connect the battery it will cause the laptop to power down.
I have tried two other batteries thinking it was a fault with the battery, but this is not the case.
I just wanted to know could it be a setting in the BIOS?
I have a HP PAVILLION DM1 laptop and in not sure why is my battery wont work with my laptop. Everytie i put it back in the laptop shutsdown. im using the AC Adapter power plug always .... but i want to bring my laptop outdoor ..
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got an inspiron 11 on Friday. I started noticing that sometimes the touchscreen wouldn't work correctly. Sometimes It takes a few taps to register a touch, other times it just quits working for a few seconds. This makes it hard to do anything, and makes it completely impossible to play any touchscreen games.
After a couple days, I finally figured out that It was on battery power that I had the problems. When plugged in the touchscreen works perfectly.
I have downloaded all the dell upgrades, and windows upgrades. I've also tried to turn off all the battery saving options I could find. Under power options advanced screen I changed every option to the same for plugged in and on battery. I turned off the option for dells power saving features. In device manager I took away windows ability to put usb hub asleep. There Is probably more I'm forgetting. Basically everywhere I seen a difference between battery and plugged in, i changed.
It passes all the hardware checks, both through dell software, and on the bootup hardware check.
I use this in tablet mode 90% of the time. And returning it to laptop mode to use touchpad/keyboard just isn't acceptable
I mentioned in the subject my laptop won't start. I checked forums here and tried the offered solutions but nothing. My AC works fine, green light turns on when I plug it, and stays the same when I plug it to laptop. Laptop doesn't make any sounds...my led for battery on laptop doesn't work when I plug it on AC.
View 14 Replies View RelatedUsing an XPS15. My left touchpad button has some problems. It seems to only work if it's pressed 2-3 times, or if you push it down hard...
Could this be related to any settings / firmware? - I think it's more likely that's it's probably failing and needs to be replaced?
I have a permanent battery failure message...
I am running Windows 8.0 (64bit) and my wifi is not working properly on Battery mode. On AC Adapter, it works 100% perfect but in battery mode, it always goes to Limited Connectivity. Repaired it but 25seconds later it gets the same problem. Limited Connectivity every single time. It's an endless cycle. Warranty has expired and I am not happy with it.
Even if repaired, cannot open any website. Full 5 wifi bars but still the same result. Tried manually (TCP/IP Settings IPv4) but didnt work at all.
My wifi driver is Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230 ( 15.12.0.6 version updated from intel.com website).
Product number C2Y46AV (HP ENVY DV6 NOTEBOOK PC)
Tried everything that I could possibly think off such as disabling Norton Firewall & Running windows firewall but still the same problem.
Updated everything from HP.
I bought 2 of these in oct 2011 for my twins going to college. My daughters has had no problems. The other one died in may 2012 and was repaired under warranty. It died again in November 2012. I was able to get it running by removing the battery and disconnecting the cmos battery and letting it sit for a while.
It happened again, and this time I can't revive it. I want to add that I think there was something wrong when we got it back from repair. The battery icon for the Lenovo power management did not work, but the windows one did. In hindsight I think this had something to do with nvram problem I have since heard so much about.
I have a VGA plug in my Dell Inspiron 1545 and when I plug in the cord it doesnt work. I have another laptop and I used the same cord and it works. So I guess my VGA doesnt work, what do I have to get to replace the VGA in my laptop?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI broke my XPS M1330 at work and one of the laptops the computer dept is suggesting as a replacement is the Dell E4300.
I played around with one that my colleague has. The size of 4lbs is okay, the performance seems okay for my usage pattern. However, there's a major show-stopper: the screen. I'm none too impressed by the screen, in terms of contrast and black levels. This review confirmed my impression:
Notebookcheck: Review Dell Latitude E4300 Laptop ). And it seems this laptop does not offer any screen upgrade option.
Also resolution was okay, but I wouldnt mind a bit more, although that is not a deal breaker like the other two issues.
So is there any Latitude or corporate Dell unit that would basically be an E4300 with a better screen?
Windows 7 runs amazingly on this machine (specs in sig). Though, it ran fantastic with Vista as well.
Despite my overall good experience thus far, there are a few things to note:
1) The webcam. Yeah, it works fine with AIM and what not out of the box, but I'd like it if Dell released an official Win7 driver + Win7 Webcam Central to better support the Latitudes.
2) The Ambient Light Sensor. It's a bit wonky under Win7, so I've left it disabled for the time being and manually change the brightness when needed. Again, I'd like to see Dell release a Win7 version of the ALS Utility found under their Vista drivers.
I posted here earlier this year after I had received my E4300 and I promised to come back and give more feedback once I had a little more time.................................
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm in the process of trying to decide between getting an E6400 or E4300 to replace my aging Toshiba A105-4074. I'm somewhat surprised by the lack of discussion here about the E4300 compared with the huge number of threads about the E6400.
I have an E4300 here at work that I have been impressed with, so I have hands-on experience with it. I haven't had any hands-on experience with the E6400, and have only seen one briefly. While I've read lots of good things about it, I wish I could use one for a couple of days in order to get a feel for it .....
I just received my E4300 from the Dell outlet, it's in great condition with one exception.
The keyboard has a bulge or slight rise in the center. I have the back-lit keyboard.
The Dell E4300 for example is generally inferior (IMO) to the Vaio Z (heavier, slower, uglier, lower quality screen, lower quality build materials, etc.) yet it costs just about the same."
Sony Z here in Canada: $2614 before tax ($45 shipping)
If you make the warranty the same (3 years), $2943 before tax + $45 shipping
Same specs, I paid $2100 before tax (and free shipping) for the Dell E4300. Is it worth the difference when the keyboard (I don't like the Z's keyboard)?
I have to wait the same week (Oct 14/15) to receive either.
I need to replace my D610 and I have two options:
Option 1: E6400
Intel Core 2 DUO T9600 2.80GHZ Processor
14.1: UltraSharp WXGA (1440/900) display
4GB ram
160GB HDD
DVD+/-RW
Dell wireless 1397 802.11/b/g Mini Card
Option 2: E4300
Intel Core 2 DUO SP9400 2.40GHZ Processor
13.3" wide WXGA screen
2GB Ram
80GB HDD
8X DVD
Dell wireless 1397 802.11 b/g Mini Card .....
What type/brand of case is everyone using to tote around their E4300. I just got mine in yesterday and I need something to protect her!
