Did they stop putting in the facial recognition software in with the notebooks? I know it was listed when I ordered mine. I have search all over the hard drive and haven't found any software to use this feature.
I have a studio 1747 core i7 quad, just got it a few days ago.
The new Dell Studio 15s ship only with facial recognition.
I am wondering how secure is this? As in the past I have heard some software will authenticate even a photo of the person..

I am going to order an Inspiron 1545 with the facial recognition, but my Studio 1537 is the laptop I use most frequently. It has a 2MP camera but somehow the FastAccess was not offered as an option. I would like to use the facial recog program on my Studio 1537 instead of the Inspiron 1545.
I've been playing around with this tool and noticed that EVERY TIME I shutdown or reboot, during the webcam initialization on startup I get a message that it is temporarily suspended because I manually did something and to wait 10 seconds. Am I doing something wrong logging off/shutting down?

i am using the microsoft 8000 bluetooth wireless, other than that my cam & facial recognition does not work, i don't see any driver on Dell site for the cam. Everything else seems to work fine for now.
So I had the Upek fingerprint reader on my old M1530 and loved it but the new SXPS 1640 I have only came with the Facial Recognition and it blows. I was thinking about getting a upek usb fingerprint reader and buying the PS software, but I was wondering if it will run fine on my system and whether or not it would be worth it?

In all other condition its working prety well. What shuld be the problem please make me know...

when i check, it seems that the system only recognizes up to 238 ram and 238 is the number that keeps showing up. this is extremely troublesome cause im trying to install ubuntu but many problems keep occurring cause i need 256 ram for it.
is there any way i can get the 700mto recognize the full 256 ram?

I notice that the FAservice (Fast access) uses more than 1% of the CPU all the time. That is too much for me. Such a service should be near 0% as the welcome page is off.
Do you experience the same thing?
I don't uninstall it at the moment but if I can't find a solution I will do to not short my time on batteries soon.

I have a Dell D630 Latitude laptop that connects to most Wifi Networks, but NOT my home network.In fact, It doesn't even show the network when I pull up area networks. It doesn't show any networks at all. However, when I take it to a Starbucks or McDonalds, I can not only find a network, but I can get on the Internet just fine !Do I have something blocking the network from being seen? Is my virus program Microsoft Essentials blocking the network for some reason?

Now when the BIOS does identify my hard drive its inaccurate (intermittent ID of the HDD, showing no HDD sometime and a Samsung other times). So, laptop fails to boot, saying operating system not found. Am trying to flash BIOS using last working version on USB stick, following advice found on internet. Well out of warranty period.

I have Mic Boost turned up to +10db and I don't have any of the effects checked. I also unchecked the "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" radio box for both the Speakers and the Microphone.
I have reinstalled the drivers from Acer's website and then from Realtek's website--neither worked.
How does one reset up face recognition on a P245 Travel Mate? It did work, but now it does not. Turning off would also be OK with me, just can't find location of the face reconition program.

Im having issues trying to connect my computer to my smart tv. I have a new samsung smart tv and a thinkpad w530. I also have a 15ft mini displayport to HDMI cable (NOT converter just cable) from monoprice I just got in the mail today. Set windows 8 up to duplicate the screen. Neither the computer or the monitor can recognize that they are connected to something else.
EDIT: want to add specifically what I have tried. I tried changing graphics mode to discrete in BIOS. Have set up screen to duplicate, not extend or anything. Fixed resolution of separate screens back to normal (when I set to multiple monitors it shoots me down to the lowest one). I also checked (via the control panel) for new NVIDIA drivers. It said i already had the latest. Im having a hard time finding the specific driver I need for the displayport for thr w530.
I think what I have tried to far will make sure it works once I get it to recognize the TV. But it hasn't done anything to make me recognize the tv. I want this to work very badly!
If any one can help appreciated. I guess these are not included with our disks anymore and i reformatted and there is nothing available on the site...

glossy widescreen 15.4 WLED display (1440x900) as a choice, which is what I want, but dell.ca doesn't. When I view the system specs though, that choice is listed as on option.
I have a Dell Latitude E6530 and when I plugged in my monitor and keyboard into the docking station, they were not recognized. But I can plug them into the laptop while docked and they are recognized.
