View 4 RepliesI am a Macbook owner for about a year now and since I've had it I've had problems with the Login Keychain. When using Safari it asks for me to use the login keychain every few pages. This confuses me as I never set it up in the first place. Also it asks for me to use the login keychain everytime I launch Skype which is a pain in the . The only cause of this I can think of is that my IT department at college thought it would be clever to set up a login keychain before they handed my Macbook over to me and not tell me the password. I've tried my main password to log into my Macbook and its keeps saying the password is invalid. not a massive problem but still would like to get to the bottom of it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedHow well does the FastAccess facial recognition program work? Is it a gimmick?
Can I install the software on another Dell laptop with a built-in webcamera or is it somehow linked to one particular laptop?
I am going to order an Inspiron 1545 with the facial recognition, but my Studio 1537 is the laptop I use most frequently. It has a 2MP camera but somehow the FastAccess was not offered as an option. I would like to use the facial recog program on my Studio 1537 instead of the Inspiron 1545.
I've been playing around with this tool and noticed that EVERY TIME I shutdown or reboot, during the webcam initialization on startup I get a message that it is temporarily suspended because I manually did something and to wait 10 seconds. Am I doing something wrong logging off/shutting down?

I wiped my hard drive clean the other day and was able to reinstall everything except the Dell Webcam Central software and the facial recognition one. Does anyone know where these can be found?

So I had the Upek fingerprint reader on my old M1530 and loved it but the new SXPS 1640 I have only came with the Facial Recognition and it blows. I was thinking about getting a upek usb fingerprint reader and buying the PS software, but I was wondering if it will run fine on my system and whether or not it would be worth it?

only way Dell reckons to resolve it, is to go in Safe mode and go back a Restore point.
ive seen videos of people logging into there windows vista user account using the inbuilt fingerprint scanner,
I cant seem to find anything on my system which will help me do this??
I previously had XP installed as its operating system and combining it with the dell security centre I was able to login using the finger print scanner,

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently converted from a Lenovo X220 to a the Dell Latitude XT3. The XT3 is a better laptop minus a couple design choices. That said, there is one feature in particular that I will miss the most....My old X220 fingerprint reader allowed me to swipe with the latop powered down. This action would boot up the PC and log me in. This doesn't seem to work the same on the XT3. Instead, I must power it up then swipe in two separate steps.
Is there a way to get the XT3 to respond to a finger swipe while it is powered down?
What is the method to automatically launch an application when the user logs in. Does it involve putting an alias of the app in some specific "startup" folder, like in Windows?
I am trying to install an older scanner driver on my new MBP, which I was only partially able to do. The "button manager" app, would not install automatically using the installer app. Hence, in order for the buttons on the scanner to work, I have to first manually launch the Button Manager. On my older MB, it would launch at login, so it was resident at all times. I none such difficulty installing the same driver package on the old MB.
I find it odd that my new MB has so many quirks that my 1 year old MB unibody does not. They are running exactly the same OS version. Hmm And Migration Assitant left a boatload of stuff (such as this), unmoved.
My laptop is being referred to as MacBook Pro (2) in name. Why is that and how can it be changed?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI got my laptop three or four years ago and today the screen just stopped working. First it faded white, then it came back on but faded black/white and now is not working at all. It stays black through startup and when it reaches the login page it is just a bunch of vertical lines.
