I have a amp that takes optical input and every other thing conceiveable, how can i get 5.1 sound to play through my home entertainment as it does not to sound through the hdmi on my amp.

View 10 Replies View Relatedthe dolby surround sound expander and the bass enhancer program on the bottom right in the taskbar?? well when i turn off the surround sound, it causes certain apps to sound different. for example the fingerprint reader. a successful swipe will sound muddy but with the surround sound enabled, it will become clear. this problem also conflicts with AIM and webchat, id have to turn on the surround sound to hear the person's voice clearly.

I have tried to shut down and restart but that hasn't helped either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo as the title states, I am wondering if it is possible to play a video with audio encoded in Dolby Digital on my laptop, pass it through to my TV via HDMI, then out via optical to my receiver. I have a friend who owns a HP business laptop with a SoundMAX sound card, but also an ATI graphics card. We are both running the Realtek ATI HDMI 2.39 drivers, I have the latest drivers from Dell for the IDT sound card on my Studio XPS 16 (1640). He says (and I've seen) he is able to do Dolby Digital this way through an option (see attachment).
However, I do not have this same "Custom" tab / option, and we are running the same driver version (at least to my knowledge). Can anyone help me in finding out if this is doable, and if so, what software (and versions) are required?
I have a MBP OSX 10.6.2
I am trying to get 5.1 to my home stereo. I have a mini toslink cable with adapter plugged in from my MBP to my home stereo. Stereo works fine. When surround is selected all audio is muted. I have tried adjusting settings in Audio/midi and everything else. all seems to be shaded. There is light at the end of the cable albeit dimmer than from my dvd player and Direct tv console.
Does my MBP have 5.1? If so am I doing something wrong? Do I need an extra sound card?
I installed Windows 7 64bit on my Vaio FW21L. Does anyone know where I can get Dolby Control Center to install on it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy father just bought an Acer Aspire 2930z for me, it came with Vista Home Edition in it and every thing was working cool but I wanted to install Windows Vista Ultimate, so without thinking a second, I formatted the computer and installed Vista Ultimate,
I got the drivers from web and every thing works perfect, only Small problem I am facing, the Acer Aspire 2930z comes with Dolby home theater feature, which is one of my favourite feature, bufore formatting I thought that this feature will be implemented automatically when I will install my sound driver but this is not the case, the sound is working OK but no Home theater feature "effect".
I went to net and tried to find, but have not found what i was looking for, what I have to download and install in order to have my Home Theater effect back with my play back.
I have a HP 8510p (XP32) that works really fine. The only thing that I can not make it happen is that whatever I try I can not get the DD, DTS work between my laptop HDMI and my receive. I recieive only stereo (Audio HDMI OUT is selected).
Question:
1) How on earth can I get DTS/DD from my laptop HDMI when i play a mkv with DTS/DD audio?
2) If I connect the laptop to the TV via HDMI and the laptop to my amp via optical, can it make the trick? (the only problem here is that, my laptop does not have optical out, just HDMI and analog, but using a docking station i can have optical out...)
Is it me or does the left side of the wrist rest get hot? the remote in the slot also gets really hot. The average temp seems to be 38-46 C. Its like 81 when playing a game or so. Even though these numbers seem normal, does anyone feel its hotter than its supposed to be. I used HWMONITOR to see the temps. Im just worried if this heat can ruin the express slot remote. and does anyone else feel the warmth from the left side?
Also, is anyone's spacebar not that responsive when hitting it towards the farthest left or right? Its really annoying when you hit it but theres no space. Other laptops are perfectly normal but the hdx16 spacebar seems loose.
Lastly, everytime i turn off the dolby sound space expander, my fingerprint reader sounds like its buzzing when it accepts a fingerprint. Some songs crackle when it's turned on as well. Try it out, it will probably happen to you. Already tried reinstalling the audio drivers and problems still occurs.
when I open the .msi/.exe file(tried both) of dolby home theatre v4 it gives me a error message ''pcee needs to be installed''.At the start dolby wasnt working it was giving a message of the program doesnt work and it says i need to reboot it also but it ddnt worked so I uninstall dolby but I cant install now what must I to do now.Everything happened after trying to update realtek audio  with a program. this is how it look at the device manager. I today buy and intalled Win 8.1 Pro, downloaded the lastest drivers from Acer, but the Dolby Home Theater dont work... Found there others who asking for this problem but nobody from Acer cant repair this problem??? 1 YEAR are out the 8.1 and nobody programmed for this anything??
The V3-571G has the worst Bass what I have notebooks, a EQ from Dolby Home Theaher works a little, but from today this little missing too? -.-
I have a problem with the Dolby utility that came preinstalled on Acer Aspire V7 482PG. When I click it, it takes around 5-20 seconds for the interface to show up (5 when I am not doing anything, more during playing anything with sound (youtube video etc.). Sometimes it does not even open and the icon disappears until I log off the PC and logon again.

PS.: there is enough HDD space, it is defragmented, there are no viruses or spyware (according to Defender and Malwarebytes), there are not too many programs running in the background.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to windows 8.1 on my Acer Aspire and unfortunately since then, Dolby Advanced Audio V2 refuses to work. I have uninstalled my audio drivers, and re-installed with the latest versions, I have uninstalled DAAV2 and re-installed, and it still does not work. I'm not really sure where to go from here. It launches properly and you can turn it on and off, but ultimately, it does not show any difference between having it on anymore or off. As well as the fact that the little panel you open where it shows the bars while you play music, doesn't move at all. I use my Acer Aspire mainly for music and youtube videos and the like, so this is rather important to me.

I added a second drive (SSD) successfully to the E540, everything works and is set up properly. I still have the original HDD in place and got Windows 8.1 (x64) installed on both drives. However, I cannot run Dolby Advanced Audio v2 when booting from the (fresh) Windows installation on the SSD. Right after booting or trying to start the application there is a Windows error message telling me that the Dolby-driver cannot be run and I should reinstall the application if the error continues to exist.

When booting from the original HDD there is no problem with Dolby Advanced Audio v2, the application just works fine. Whenever booting from SSD the error message comes up.

I know that this is a known issue and I've read all the information that is out there on the internet. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the DRIVERS folder on C: multiple times, installed everything in different orders and tried almost every combination of using the SETUP in AUDIO, the SETUP in DOLBY, the UIUa64 and so on. I can't install Dolby Advanced Audio v2 on the new SSD properly. The installation finishes and Dolby Advanced Audio v2 is shown in the list of installed programs, but immediately after finishing the installation the error message also occurs.

(I exactly followed the reported solutions for other systems, but none of them worked for me. In which order I have to run the driver setup(s) for my E540 if you think this is a possible error source.) I really do not know what could cause the error message while the (seemingly) exact installation still works while booting from the original HDD?
(I am not referring to Dolby Digital Plus but Advanced Audio v2! The Dolby Digital Plus user interface is accessible on SSD. The sound quality varies tremendously between the two Windows installations on HDD and SSD and the loss of sound quality is unacceptable for me.)
Y510p was supposed to have Dolby Home Theater v4 and I can't find it? I looked in the program files as well as the programs and features and can't find anything about it. I reinstalled the driver from the website, and from the d:/ (LENOVO) drive, but I still do not see it. I also did not see Dobly Home Theater listed on the drivers/downloads section of the website. How I can get this?

When I go into the dolby tab it says I have dolby digital plus, and I can press the blue power button to turn it on, but I cannot select movie, game, or music as they are not there.

I went to Lenovo's website and downloaded IDT audio driver version 6.10.6490.0 for Windows 8.1 64bit. I ran the exectuable that was downloaded and now the Microphone works much better however now Dolby Advanced Audio is unable to start. Â I get the following warning message everytime I start the laptop:
