May 14, 2009What will happen if no one is there to take/sign the package? Will they just deliver again monday or do I have to go pick it up somewhere?

Dell :: Fried My M1710.. What Will Happen?
Feb 9, 2009I spilled coke all over my M1710 and it will no longer turn on. I called and they are making me ship it out to them (I have complete care) so they can look at it.
Will they repair my unit? Or will I end up with a M1730? If they do give me a 1730, will I end up with a single 8700M GT seeing how my 1710 only had a 7900GS? Is this a downgrade or upgrade?
Acer :: Travelmate 290 Fans Kick On And A Couple Lights Turn On, But Nothing Happen
Jul 1, 2009when I hit the power button, the fans kick on and a couple lights turn on, but nothing happens- the screen remains blank. I don't even see the acer splash screen like usual. Also, I'm pretty sure that the hard drive isn't spinning as well.
I know the lcd isn't dead as I tried hooking it up to an external monitor, but that didn't work.
Dell :: M1730 Got Shipped
May 27, 2009So my M1730 got shipped yesterday... they gave me 2 tracking numbers-- both were used in august 08.. So I waited it out, and later on, the two tracking numbers both updated... Both of them say "Electronic info received".
I call Fedex this morning, they tell me Dell hasn't shipped anything yet. I call Dell, the lady tells me it was shipped and not to worry. I don't know who to believe..
So basically I can't track my package and know when its coming....

Feb 18, 2008I received my M1730 today, and all of the paperwork states I have the 8800 GTX 2X512mb cards (my order screen, my invoice, etc), yet when I powered it up, looked at the BIOS, it has the 8700's in it. Now I don't know what to do. I want the machine but don't want to have to wait another 2 weeks to get it.
I also ordered a Crimson Red cover and it came with the Smoke Gray cover, don't know how this happened either, but not as big a deal as the video cards!
Dell :: Uk Delivery Time When Shipped & M15x
Jan 6, 2010I have looked throughout the site and even emailed customer support (with no answer) but cannot find anything about average delivery times. I live in England and have order a new alienware m15x which was dispatched early on monday via ups. UPS tracking is still not active on my order (I know it can take up to 4 working days, which I find quite ridiculous frankly) and I am getting frustrated as I have no idea whats happening or when I can expect my order. I was just hoping people could give me an idea of how long it took their order to be delivered once shipped and if someone could tell me where uk alienware orders actually ship from.
I have been reading through dell forums and noticed that some american customers have had their orders listed as shipped but the orders had not actually been picked up by the carrier (i.e. ups). I wonder if anyone in the uk has experienced similar issues with delivery.
Dell :: Laptop Shipped To Wrong Address
Aug 1, 2009My laptop had to be replaced by Dell a second time within the last four years recently. I shipped it in and it took about a week and they placed an order to begin processing a shipment for a replacement. The replacement shipped out on Thursday. I had to do my own investigating to get a tracking number because the reps were useless.
I go to FedEx to check the number and find out its getting overnighted (YES!) but then to my horror, I noticed it's getting this to an old address I lived at YEARS ago. The thing I find funny about this is that, even when the laptop was replaced the first time, nothing was shipped to that address it was shipped to me at school. When I received the box to ship in my current unit to repair, it was sent to my current address. I have no clue where they got this address .....

She packed up another laptop older machine that I had and sent it back.

Dell :: Doesn't Happen In "the Orange Box" Or Bioshock
Oct 14, 2008This happens when in SLI only, there is ghosting/tearing/i have no idea of some sort. It happens in WoW, Crysis, Crysis WH, and 3dMarkVantage. Doesn't happen in "the Orange Box" or Bioshock. I've reloaded every driver I can find, dell factory image with all microsoft updates, dell factory image no updates, and verified it happens on both the Sharp panel in the system and my Samsung Syncmaster 24". Please help. I'm within my 21 day mark, and I'll probably return it if I can't get it fixed soon. Should probably tell ya, x9000 (stock clock) 4GB, 320HDD, SLI 8800GTX's, Vista 32bit.

Dell :: Vista Home Premium- 2GB Vs. 4GB
Dec 20, 2007I have been searching all over various forums and tech sites for an answer. Currently I have 2 GB of ram in my 1520 that's running Home Premium. I've done a clean install after adding the 1 GB Turbo Cache module. It was only about $30.00 and figured worth the risk to try for performance gains. I haven't felt much there.
Does anyone have any positive feedback on performance when upgrading from 2 GB to 4 GB of RAM? I am running 32 BIT and don't care that the full 4 GB are not recognized. I don't want to waste money unless it will make some difference.
Aside from the clean install, I've been using X-Setup Pro, Tweak UAC and TweakIV for optimizing the settings for a little speed. I've also tweaked the services according to Black Viper's web site. The software tweaking has helped immensely.
I appreciate anyone's feedback on upgrading to 4 GB of ram. Sorry if this has been an old discussion getting beat up once again. However, prices are right around $75.00 for 4 GB of G Skill from Newegg.

Jul 7, 2008Dell laptop Inspiron 1300 tag DM1492J. When trying to boot from hard drive it only loads to Windows XP long in screen then goes to a blank blue screen. It will not load in safe mode nor can I repair/reinstall XP from DVD/CD drive. I have entered BIOS and placed DVD/CD drive first disabling all other options but still cannot get it to load XP.

Feb 15, 2010Dell never gave my girlfriend a disc to re-install Vista.
Actually... I'm playing the role of Tech Support Guy (even speaking to her with a difficult-to-understand Indian accent!!).
She had a crash, so I used VistaPE to get her data off of the computer. Now, I wanna restore Vista to the original factory settings. Sounds easy enough... use f8, right?
Wrong... it won't work in my case. The recovery partition is still there... I just can't access it. The operating system won't boot up at all. I used a non-Dell Vista Home Premium disc to access the Vista System Recovery option, but that doesn't help. I can't get at Dell's recovery partition.
I figure if I had a re-installation disc that's actually from Dell, I could access Vista's System Recovery feature that includes the Dell option to restore the computer to the original factory settings. Problem is, I can't get ahold of one.
Does anybody know where I can find one without going directly to the Dell website? I think Dell has the worst customer service on the planet and I would pay someone to hit me in the head with a sledgehammer before I'd spend one dollar on a Dell product. I've been scouring the internet for two days and can't seem to find a stray copy of what I need.

Dell Inspiron 1546 - How To Reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium
Oct 22, 2011I installed some windows updates to my computer. The next time I turned on my computer it didn't act normal at all. It went to a start-up repair screen which scanned for a long time only to tell me "start-up repair cannot fix this computer" so I shut down and left my computer. I called Dell's support line and talked with technical assistance, the guy had me run some tests and in the end told me that there was nothing wrong with the hard drive and that it was my systems software that was the problem. didn't wanna restore at that point because wanted to save my pictures.
I ended up taking the hard drive out, transferring pictures onto my brothers computer and then I did a full system restore ( by tapping f8, choosing repair my PC, then choosing "Dell data safe restore and emergency backup" in the system recovery options screen. ) This actually worked and I restored my computer, however after installing updates again (quite a few too, when I shut down my computer it said installing update 1 of 72?! )
My computer went back to the start up repair screen and did the same thing as before. restored my computer one more time, and now again after updates were installed my computer will not work correctly. I do have the windows product key under the battery but would like to know how I can fix this problem. Will have to reinstall my windows software?
