I have been having a Clock Interrupt error on my Inspiron 1121 netbook, sometimes a few times a day, for a few weeks. I tried uninstalling some recently installed programs and updating my drivers.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I boot up my laptop without the AC adapter plugged in I get a beeping error. 00C08270 Real Time Clock error pops up on the screen before start up. From my research it tells me that it could be the CMOS battery or the motherboard. If it's the CMOS battery I'm willing to replace the battery myself but if it's the motherboard I will probably need to go to the shop for that. What I'm afraid of is the cost. If my problem is the CMOS battery I don't know where to buy the battery replacement myself and if it's the motherboard, is it worth it to pay the cost of replacement and from what I know paying for a new OS too? or should I buy a new laptop instead?

View 2 Replies View RelatedInspiron 15 running Win7. After cleaning FBI virus, Windows 7 would start to boot then quickly go to BSOD 7b error. Tried Startup Repair many times. Toggled SATA Operation in BIOS to both ATA and AHCI. Imaged the disk, and did a Factory Restore via Startup Repair in AHCI mode then tried again in ATA.. I get the same exact error every time. I am pretty sure that the virus messed with one of the other partitions that is required to boot. I assume that I could order a CD and reinstall, but a way to repair this error.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Dell N4010 laptop with 4GB ram (1333 Mhz, 2X2) purchased in Jan 2011. Recently I bought transcend 4GB 1333 and have removed existing 2GB ram and replaced with 4GB to increase the physical memory to 6GB. I can see that the ram has been detected and the total is showing up in Bios. After this, the system does not boot, it just keep restarting.
I tried to start with safemode, however the files load but at the end, I receive a blue screen with error like '...Bad pool header...'.
OS: Windows 7 x64
Bios version: A13
When turning on the computer, I press the start button and I get the black screen with the words "Starting Windows" in the middle of the screen. As soon as the "Starting Windows" appears, the computer begins to beep continuously with short but fast-paced beeps. The beeping continues until the colored Windows Logo appears above the white words "Starting Windows" and then the beeping stops. The computer completes its start up and seems to operate normally. I did not time the beeping but I counted about 270 beeps. None of the keyboard keys seem to be stuck. I did remove and replace the battery which seemed to fix the problem on the very next start-up but when I shut the computer down and started it up the second time the beeping problem returned.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe got our laptop April of 2012 and started using it daily in August of the same year. As soon as we started using it the random BSOD started popping up then the computer shuts down. Upon startup after BSOD the computer seems perfectly fine except for a message that pops up saying two things didn't load (I'm not sure of those right this second but can post them in a few hours) and I'm not even sure if that's related to anything because it mentions something about Apple..
Anyways. Yesterday I started running diagnostic tests as recommended in another post on this forum, everything passed. After that I decided to run the tests given on the symptom tree and it's almost done with a majority of those that I noticed were issues. Everything is passing so far, even the Windows Blue Screen test (I think it's called).
We have two different forms of virus protection so I don't think it's that but then again I'm not a computer wiz. We also noticed the touch screen has started being erratic - while you're doing something the cursor/mouse will randomly move to the right side of the screen without moving. I hope this all makes sense. We're still under warranty so we can send it in but I wanted to make sure it wasn't anything we couldn't fix easily.
i had more than 10 bsods now and the time period was as follows.
~5 bsods and solved by updating graphics drivers.
now, like 2 weeks later, it has been running fine and i decided i want to update my graphics driver by manually modding the inf file in the latest desktop drivers..
it did work out, but now it's giving me bsod errors everytime i close my laptop and come bak later to open it.
i also recently (today) installed a new realtek PCIe family controller driver..
so i dont know which driver is causing the bsod (0x50 non-paged fault)
right now my gfx is on 8.661 (found on a website, but WHQL certified)

Problem 1 When I listen to music at full volume the laptop BSOD's (only full volume)

I am getting a lot of BSOD on my E1705 these days. Today it BSODed while idling for a couple of hours with no program running.
I ran PSA diagnostics, fine. I ran Dell Crash Analysis, nothing.
I restored the computer. Yet this BSOD keeps coming back.
I have T7200, 7900GS, 1 GB Ram, XP media cener edition, 100 GB 7200rpm HD.
We have a user that has had a Latitude E6510 for 16 months. During this time, she has had A LOT of blue screens of death. We have tried numerous attempts to troubleshoot and fix. The Event Viewer doesn't show anything abnormal prior to the crashes.
Once I can get my hands on the laptop for a decent amount of time, I plan on running the Dell online diagnostic tool but I think we've tried that before. I am posting this in an attempt to see if any others out there have had the same problem with their E6510 crashing and have come up with a fix on your own.
I TRIED to do searches to find potential answers but the I kept getting "Error retrieving documents." no matter what I used as a search value from E6510 to Latitude to Blue Screen.
I've been getting the BSOD error on my PC. The main ewrror is 0x000000f4 but I sometimes get the 77 error as well. Most times i need to reboot and then I get the 200 fixed hard disk 0 failed error . If I click F! i get yet another error, PXE.61 error and this takes my rebooting quite a few times in order to get windows xp (media center edition) to come uo it stays on for a while (the length of time is getting shorter and shoryer these days) and then I have to go through the entire scenario over again. I'm trying to remove the files and programs that I actually care about off this comp. I contacted Acer tech support and was told that it most likely a HArd drive problem and that it would need to be replaced They had the wrong warranty ending date for me and after providing proof of purchase, they changed it to 11/23/07. Now that I have about 8 days left on my warranty. the tech support person told me to purchase the extended warranty because if I ship it to them and the warranty expires, I will have to pay for the service. Now my question is this. I'm not too sure that it would be worth shipping it to them for repairs I will have to pay $99 for the warranty plus tax and At least $100 to ship it back to them. On top of that I have read horror stories about people who sent their comps in to be repaired and it being returned to them with scratches on the LCD, initial problems not repaird or additional problems after the comp was returned to them. I'd much rather carry it in to a shop but was told their are no local repair shops in my city except for geek squad and they will charge me since I didn't purchase my comp from them. WHat would you do take it to a local repair shop or pay the bugcks to extend the warranty and then pay to have it shipped to be repaired? Another reason why I am leery is because I bought a HP laptop last year. the Ac adapter jack ont he comp was loose so I shipped it to HP to have it repaired. they had my comp for almost a month and then told me the motherboard, keyboard, speakers, and LCD display was unsalvageable and that it would cost me over $1000 to have it replaced(i only paid $369 for it on black Friday). They also told me that I had a liquid spill which was a total lie as I keep my laptop in my bedroom and I never eat or drink in my bedroom.( come to find out that loose jacks are a known problem with some Hp laptops I have read horror storeies about Acer using the dreaded liquid spill excuse too and I don't want to go through the drama again. Are the BSOD errors definitely the fault of a faulty hard drive?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a hp laptop 9843cl with 64 bit vista. it crashes randomly quite often. It says "IRQL less than or equal to" and near the end writes NETw5v64.sys and some other numbers. This is related to Intel wireless driver link 4965AGN.
I tried many things, memory check, hard drive check, drivee update check.
I have a brand new xps16, running wonderfully.
I've modded the desktop Catalyst 9.4 drivers, games perform well, better than the provided Dell Catalyst.
What I would like to do however, is be able to alter the GPU clocks. Not by much, just a little.
I've tried AMD GPU clock tool; but this does not let me fix new clock values for the ATI 3670. I enter a new value, and they revert to the default right away
I'm new to Dell and all of a sudden a great many files have a blue clock face and red exclamation point on top of file thumbnail. What does it mean and how do I remove them. Can I remove them in bulk. I backed up my whole computer yesterday, but the blue clock and exclamation point still remains on many many files and folders.

The problem is with Iastor.sys - which I understand is Matrix Storage Manager.
My problem is none of the regular boot options work. No safe mode, no last good config.
Would it be possible to just download a new iastor.sys and replace the existing file with a new one via repair console?
I purchased CT699854 4GB kit (2GBx2), 200-pin SODIMM from Crucial.com for my Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop. The machine already had 2GB in two 1GB chips for both slots.
When I installed the new chips, Windows Vista Home Premium refused to boot. BIOS recognized the new RAM without problems, but when Windows started to load I immediately got a 0x7b stop error. This is strange, because that usually coincides with an AHCI problem, but that's already turned on in the BIOS with Turbo Memory and works fine.
When I take ONE of those 2GB chips out, leaving an empty DIMM slot, it boots fine. When I use one new 2GB chip in conjunction with one of the old 1GB chips, it boots fine and Vista recognizes 3GB of RAM. But when I push it to 4GB, I get the 0x7b BSoD. I've used all combinations of new and old chips, and it appears the new chips aren't bad as far as I can tell.
During a restart, a prompt to the effect of "Push Enter to Interrupt Startup" appears beneath the Lenovo logo. When I depress the Enter key, I get the message "Launching the startup interrupt menu" and then the device merrily continues on its path to launch Windows 8.1 Pro.
Initially, I thought this may have had something to do with a recent update to the Fingerprint Reader; however, de-installing that package had no effect. I can workaround this glitch; however, it was so nice to be able to simply specify something like a different boot device rather than having to go into the Setup menu.

My wife said she just fell a sleep with her computer on, ok but now her comp won't boot at all.
Here is the history:
1) At first boot the next morning she was getting IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I have tried all the options after pressing F8 without any success the comp kept on rebooting and showing the BSOD or 2 options start windows 7 normally or start windows 7 repair (recommended). When I select either of these I get the BSOD (IRQL....)
2) The command prompt was getting stuck on aswRvrt which I found out to be an avast file. 3) I wanted to secure my wife's data first so I removed the HDD used an USB adapter and connected to my computer and was able to get all of her data. I also was able to remove (so I think) avast from here comp by using www.avast.com/uninstall-utility and run it on her HDD. I also removed all avast driver in windows/system32/driver from her comp because after removing only the aswRvrt another avast driver was getting stuck (aswVmm)4) Now I still get the BSOD and when using command prompt, it gets stuck on classpnp5) I found that ALT + F9 would show me this:

I do not know how to use this option so I just hit ENTER.
I have ignored the issue as long as I can but I am too often losing my current state when I hibernate my pc.The screen powers down which makes me think that the hibernation is happening as normal. However I still see the HDD power light remaining active for say 10 minutes.
The computer then throws a blue screen of death and then powers down.When I reboot I get the message Windows did not shutdown successfully. Windows will ask me to upload the crash dump file to Microsoft but I never get any kind of feedback.This process is quite frustrating.
My W530 displays the "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" message on startup. If I press Enter, I hear a beep and a message comes up indicating that a menu will be displayed, but Windows 8 starts loading shortly afterwards.
When I see the message, I can press F1 to get to the BIOS, F10 for Diagnostics or F12 for a Boot menu, but for some reason enter doesn't work.
I've tried several things, including using Recovery DVDs received from Lenovo to wipe the system (including formatting all drives), but still no luck.
When I originally received the machine, the "enter" key would bring up a menu, but I have screwed something up and even a full recovery from Lenovo DVDs didn't work. I run Windows 8 and after receiving the machine used the Create System Image feature (which I had used many times in Windows 7), but a subsequent restore didn't go well and that is when the "enter" stopped working on startup.
I can't get into the bios anymore. I updated the bios via the BIOS Update Utility 2.56 and after that I can't see the "press enter to interupt normal startup" message anymore. And therfore can't get into the bios. Windows is still booting normally.

I use it and the lowest I can set it to is 0.95, I have selected mobile in the advanced settings CPU type. My results are:
T8300 CPU
8x-10x multipliers set at 0.95
11x at 0.975
12x at 1.00 .....
i am looking at dell laptop, inspiron vs latitude (both have lots of promotion going on recently)
according to wiki, both e6400 and e6500 can support ram clockspeed at 800mhz, but i can't find similar information about the inspiron models.
I reformat my Dell inspiron 1520..first i installed the dell media direct and install the OS..
then i installed the driver...then after that my laptop keeps on having error..it says an error has occured..
windows will automatically shut down to prevent damage..keeps on having error..i dont know what to do ( help pls...i must use the safe mode to prevent this error
GPUZ shows my gpu core clock at 399.9mhz and it doesn't move - this is on my 4670 replacement that I received two days ago.
Everything is on "high performance".
What are others getting for this setting? I thought this was supposed to be 675.
