I have a latitude 3540 . Recently I installed windows 8.1 64 bit on it. All the drivers works except the WiFi. When I am trying to install it its showing a message "The installer cannot run on this platform. Pls select the package for your operating system". I tried both older newer versions of the driver package downloaded from dell website.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a problem of keyboard with many Dell Latitude e3540 . Some keys randomly stop responding . We have updated the firmware to version A08 but unable to fix it. Also reinstall the driver keyboard controller with the same result .
The only thing that can solve the problem was momentarily disconnecting and reconnecting the keyboard . Likewise, the problem usually returns . The local support Dell keyboards we changed several times but the problem persisted.

Wifi button is unresponsive. I have to restart (not shutdown) so I could get: [URL] Bluetooth adapter is present. Wifi its connected automatically. Button its on white color.
Wifi is detected at windows final setup install with native drivers but same happens. Windows update also found a new update on Centrino Advanced-N 6235 drivers. Same problem.Its like something at startup is not loaded but loads successfully on restart.I'm truly puzzled here.
Anyone know what the cause could be, and how to get it working reliably?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy keyboard has intermittently been working for some time. When it works, then everything works as it should, when it does not work, the keyboard is still lit up and the mouse joystick still works, but no keys work. To get the keyboard to work again I have to reboot and shutdown many times and eventually it will work again. It only stops working after shutting down or rebooting. To me it appears to be an issue with detecting at boot up. It seems it could be either an issue with the motherboard, or the keyboard so was or to get some opinions on how to narrow it down to one or the other. I should also add, that when it does not work, you can not access the bios, or anything prior to the operating system loading, so I am 100% sure its not an OS issue. I also dual boot this laptop and the keyboard does not work in either. I can plug in a usb and that works fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDell Latitude E6400 ATG mouse pad works intermittently. It will work then stop and I have to use the keyboard nub. Then it will work. Then it will not work and it will drift to one corner. If I press on either side of the mousepad wrist rest area it will drift faster.
This is why I think it is a hardware issue.
I have updated with the most recent driver several times and it does not correct the problem. Driver is dated 1/13/2011
So, I have B590 Lenovo Notebook with Windows 8 and the Wi-Fi doesn't work well.

I bought Lenovo L440 few days ago.
I have problem with wifi connection. Wifi works perfect with other devices: phones, tablets, laptops. When I connect to wifi with L440, wifi works 5-30 min. and then crash. L440 kills wifi network. All devices can't connect to wifi until I restart router.
I have read about this problem, but in task manager I can't find "discovery.exe" or LenovoEMC Storage Connector in Contral Panel.
I manage to pair my 2-in-1 pc Acer Switch 10 with an externat Bluetooth (bt) device only when the tablet is connected to my home wifi network. As soon as I disconnect from the wifi network, the pairing with the bt device is disabled. If I try to pair the bt device when wifi connection is off, the pairing succeeds just for a few seconds (1 or 2) and then it disconnects.
The support assistance of the bt device, since it actually manages to pair with the pc in such wifi wird conditions, suggested that it probably can be a problem due to the chip of the pc that probably manages both the wifi and the bt connections and is not able to manage them separately.

I run the BIOS upgrade / update to the version A13 on my Dell Latitude E6410 and after that I found this problems:
. the bios logo on startup takes about to 10 seconds to load (and sometimes freeze and need to restart the machine)
. the boot menu (F12) takes 4 o 5 minutes to load
. the startup of Windows 7 64bits - SP1 takes more than 1 minute to load and some apps works slowly
. the 2 usb ports on the right side doesnt work after the upgrade
Can return to other version of BIOS (I think that the previous version was A08 or A09)?

My system is working fine except that whenever I play a video file in VLC, it stops close to the end and then after a while the system hangs.
My new Latitude E4300 laptop finds my Home wireless network but is not connecting to it.
I get a message saying unable to connect. My Network password is properly fed and my laptop is not far away from my router.
I have a Dell D630 Latitude laptop that connects to most Wifi Networks, but NOT my home network.In fact, It doesn't even show the network when I pull up area networks. It doesn't show any networks at all. However, when I take it to a Starbucks or McDonalds, I can not only find a network, but I can get on the Internet just fine !Do I have something blocking the network from being seen? Is my virus program Microsoft Essentials blocking the network for some reason?

We have found that the latest driver for the Intel Ultimate-N 6300 AGN WiFi adapter for Windows 7 64 bit gives NETwNs64 Event 5060 errors when connecting to WiFi using Radius (Certificate) authentication.
We have tried Network_Driver_597FG_WN_15.01.1000_A02 which is the latest on the Dell web site..We have tried Wireless_15.3.1_Ds64 which is the latest on the Intel web site.We have had to revert to the NIC_DRVR_WIN_R292654 which is version 14.0.1.2 driver which is both stable and does not give errors in the event log. Given that we do not have issues with the version 14.0.1.2 driver, we intend to stay with that until advised otherwise.
I have a Dell Latitude E6330 that is great, but when I plug it in to the docking station, it uses the docking stations NIC, but disables the WiFi.
The WiFi here is a different network and I need both.

the 1704 installs ok but the 1705 reports an error and doesn't install at all. Normally should they install both? Each of them does a different thing ? Why are there two drivers for same thing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having issues with this with this utility either not connecting upon resuming my laptop or even from a fresh start. I visit many offices at I am the IT manger and all the connections are saved in profiles but despite them being saved they won't connect even when I try to connect manually. The only way to get the adapter to connect is to right click Proset running in the tray and click "reset proset". Even now while typing this I am connected via wifi but the proset icon shows "connecting"
I've tried updating the wifi adapter drivers from Dell and Intel directly and also completely removed the drivers and re-installed them but I am still having the same issue.
When I take it off the internet works fine.
Running two Toshiba 32L2300U 32" tv's that have VGA connections. Since the eport only has one VGA connection the other is connected with a DisplayPort to VGA adapter.
I need to work from home on two monitors, not the laptop in a dock with the lid open and one TV screen. (Internet is restored when I open the lid as it's in the dock but only one monitor works.

Around 20 seconds after logging in after a full reboot my Wi-Fi connection is dropped (having already connected during the boot/login).
I'm using the Intel software to manage the Wi-Fi connection and it says it can't connect because the hardware switch is set to off. This is obviously untrue.
Only solution I've found is to manually flick the hardware switch to OFF and then back to ON, then it automatically connects.
Seems like a BIOS issue if it's suddenly turning the adapter off for no reason. I'm already on the latest A07. Problem does not occur when hibernating and resuming from hibernation.
I previously let Windows manage the Wi-Fi connection but it never automatically connected at all, hence the switch to the Intel utility.

Also, what is the best kind of RAM it will accept? I was thinking two 1GB sticks of pc2-5300, but I don't know if it'll accept that much? It is Dual channel memory, but it's only using one channel right now obviously. Any help is appreciated, as I need to get her computer in working order by Friday.

I like the laptop, but the Intel Wifi Link 5300 AGN adapter continually drops my wireless connections to my home Linksys WRT54G access point and router. This is a version 5 Linksys unit running in mixed b/g mode with WEP encryption. It is running with a unique SSID which is not broadcast.
At first, my connections would drop and it seemed related to the Control Point software preinstalled on the E6400. So I uninstalled the Control Point System Management and Connection Management software, and this seemed to result in a small improvement: I can do a download successfully, but if I'm idle any amount of time the connection drops. This last makes me think power to the Wifi Link card might be getting turned off somewhere if there is no activity. However the Control Point Security Manager software is still installed (as it came from the factory) and might also be contributing to the problem.
I've used an 802.11n-compatible WiFi card in my home.The driver version for the WiFi Link is 12.0.0.82 and is dated 07/08/2008. The Linksys access point has been here a couple of years and is running Linksys firmware version v1.00.6. It is set up for 128-bit WEP encryption. I've had numerous laptops connect to it, all with older Broadcom b/g cards, and as long as the WEP encryption is set properly there has not been a connection problem. now to see if I can duplicate the connection dropping issue.
