So I just got my new 1647 replacement set up finally and one thing I keep running into is an INCREDIBLY long black load screen between the windows 7 animation thingy and when you actually log in..
Even the windows 7 animation takes longer to load than normal...Than I get a black screen for a good 2 minutes before my mouse then shows up then about another 30 secs I get the login finally...
Whats going on? I have my old 1640 side by side and it boots instantly!
Dell Inspiron 1520, When you turn the laptop on, the BIOS load screen comes up and when the progress bar starts to scroll, it gets about 1/2" over and then the screen goes black. It is not the inverter, because if you take a flashlight, you can not see anything. The Cap Locks and Num Lock button will toggle the LEDs, but there doesn't seem like anything else is going on. I have tried hitting F2 on boot, as well as FCN +D and no luck. It is running A04 for the BIOS. I have also reseated the RAM and the display cable connectors. I have also plugged in a keyboard and monitor to see if that would change anything and it didn't. (I did hit the FCN+F8 after plugging in the monitor.)
I was cleaning my computer and got it back together and had one of the HDD's die. I replaced it with a differany HDD, reformatted and installed the OS (Vista) but when I start it up the BIOS gets about 80% loaded and then next 20 takes 2-3 min. to load. It used to be much faster, within a matter of seconds. I tried reflashing the BIOS but that didn't change anything. Anyone have suggestions? Computer is the Inspiron 1720 in my sig.
If anyone experiencing long load times when booting up Windows 7? It takes considerably longer for me to boot Win7 than SL...
When Win7 boots, whether it be a cold boot or reboot, ill find myself hanging at a blank/black screen with nothing other than a blinking underscore in the top left corner for what seems like a minute, then it'll go to the normal "Starting Windows..." screen from there. Is a format/reinstall in order?
So earlier this year the original battery in my black MacBook died on me. Machine is out of warranty, but took it in to the Apple store anyway, and they ended up replacing it for free. Well THIS battery only has 40 load cycles on it, and it looks like its dead now too. MagSafe adapter plugged in, green light, battery indicating its not charging. I've pulled the battery out, checked pins on the power adapter (hooked it up on a friends MacBook to be sure it wasnt the adapter, and it did charge).
I just bought a new Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition VN7-591G-74LK. I found the WIFIÂ (Atheros AR5BWB222) disconnects every time the CPU/Fan is in full load or nearly full load. Once the CPU/Fan utilization is low, the WiFi connection recovers.
I've had the W530 for two years and there is an issue when turning on the laptop. I haven't contact Lenovo's warranty yet.  When I press the power button, frequently it shows the Thinkpad white logo against black background and won't load. Windows at all. It just stuck there.  I have already restore the system but the problem is still there.  Oddly, when it does work (which is rare), the "to interrupt normal startup, press enter" appears. Everytime it works, that phrase would appears.  The only components I have connected to this laptop are ethernet cable for internet, USB hub, and external drive hooked up through PC slot on the side.  Laptop Spec: Windows 7 Professional with latest update Intel Core i7 3720QM 2.6HGHZ Bios 2.7
My T400  display works  at BIOS startup but goes black was soon as Windows 7 starts to load..  Video out put  works  and I can see an  UN Backlit  image on the display.   Is there some sort  back light controller /driver that may be broken.
I have a Studio 1558 laptop running Windows 7. Recently, when I open an application (ex. Microsoft Word, McAfee, Excel), the screen fades to black, stays black for 2-3 seconds, then pops back up. It has happened at a few other times too, but I don't recall the specific circumstances. The laptop is 2 1/2 years old, unfortunately out of warranty ....
When I open the lid to the laptop and hit the power button, the 3 buttons on the top of the keyboard cycle through and the power comes on, but the only thing that happens next is the screen turns on with a slight brightness, but it doesn't load any further. It doesn't even load to the Dell logo. If I tap the power button again, all lights and monitor goes off with a beep noise.Â
I have taken the battery out, unplugged the power cord and held the power button for over 15 seconds. This did not do anything.Â
My husband came home from work saying his laptop doesn't work, being the naturally skeptical wife, I tried to boot it up, thinking I'll f10 (Well, f12 - turns out) the problem away. If that worked, we wouldn't be here. Anyway. 9_9
The laptop turns on without a problem, and presents me with the Dell loading screen. The loading bar is present, but nothing is actually 'loading'. There are two options in the lower right hand corner, "F2 - Setup" and "F12 Boot Options". If I turn the laptop on and press one of these buttons really quick (within a second), then that option will be highlighted, but nothing more occurs. I've tried this for both F2 and F12.
I've tried:
-Boot Options - fails to load the options screen -Setup - fails to load the setup screen -Turning the power off and holding the button down. -PSA ... Pre-startup Analytics...? Didn't work. Spent 5 minutes tapping F12 once a second. -All of the above with and without the AC adapter in. -Taking the battery out (Oi, that was fun.) and plugging it back in.
I was browsing the internet a day ago and I was on a "COLLEGE" website so i know this is not due to a virus. At this time all of a suden my screen went black.
I powered the laptop off and turned it back on, The Dell logo appeared but the screen was fuzzy and had some "tearing" i dont really know what to call it but it doesnt look right. Kind of like an old VCR playing videos. The screen then whent black after the windows xp splash screen. The laptop still boots to windows but it does not display anything.
I booted into safe mode, everything functions correctly and the way it's supposed to. I then booted into VGA mode same thing everything functions and works the way it is supposed to. I also ran some virus scans just incase, nothing was found.
Whilist in safe mode i changed the resolution down to 800 x 600 and still no luck after booting in regular mode.
In VGA mode i tryed to change resolution and the screen displayed some blue fuzzy lines then whent black.
After this I booted back into safe mode and done severeral diffrent System Restores at diffrent dates. Still no luck
After going through all this I am assuming this is a GFX card problem. The laptop is about 3 years old and ive played games pretty hard on it ever since. The card has defenitly gone through some some stress. Can anyone confirm this?
I know that the i9300 sells for about 400 working, and i checked on ebay for a card that is a whopping 180 bucks. Id just assume buy a new laptop. Then sell the i9300 laptop for parts because everything else works fine. Or maybe buy the card swich it out and sell it for a price. Maybe there is a way to fix it i dont know. can anyone help?
Lastly, i thought i would add that when i check the bios the card is recognized and it displays all the correct info for the card. IS there a way to tell for 100% that the card is bad?
Every time I start up my computer, it flashes the Dell logo loading screen, and then displays this message on a black screen:Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 083) Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation.
This Product is covered by one or more of the following patents: US5, 307, 459, US5, 434, 872, US5, 732, 094, US6, 570, 884, US6, 115, 776 and US6, 327, 625Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Series v1.19 (08/10/09)I tried hitting escape or enter but doesn't work. I ran the diagnostics but shows that everything is fine.
I tried hitting f8 to get into safe mode but again nothing.
Due to what I thought were issues with SP1, I uninstalled it. Finding it not to be the case and that the uninstall left my machine somewhat "stuttery", I set it up for a system restore and went to bed. About eight hours later, I checked it and it was still restoring! I figured it had locked up (it's done this before) so I powered it off. Dumb move, I know.
Now, though, I try to start windows but it the screen gets stuck on black before it loads up the glowing windows logo. It will do the loading animation but that's it. I've tried loading Windows from CD but it doesn't make a difference. It loads the files with the DOS-like loading screen, then does the exact same thing.
I've also tried to get it to start in Safe Mode. I push the key to get there but the start-up selection screen only flashes before going right into loading Windows normally.
Please, I don't know what to do and I desperately need this machine to get anything done. It's just outside of warranty, so if there's any way for me to fix this myself I'd like to try.
Some things I've wondered about:
1) Is there a for sure way to get into the start-up selection screen? 2) Can I format the HDD with FDISK and then load windows from my vista cd and have it reinstall?
I was using my hp pavilion dv6 notebook and then it got a blue screen with white text (IÂ believe hard drive problem , idk) I restarted the computer and my computer couldn't load my Windows 7 OS. I already tried Safe mode, I tried to the repair option. The computer tried to repair for 7 hour without any results. I already tried resetting with Windows recovery disc, didn't work..
is the sony FW35V(customizable) on the sony style uk site a 1920x1080 a dual lamp LCD? it says 16.4" H1080 WXGA++ (1920 x 1080) Widescreen X-black LCD screen with built-in "Motion Eye" Digital Camera, but is it a 1920x1080 dual lamp, multiple lamp(how many?) orr single lamp? make sure its the fw35v not the fw35x. the fw35v is the one that costs £60 to upgrade the screen. the fw35x says HD1080 (1920x1080) X-black LCD with multiple lamp, which im guessing is a dual lamp LCD right? also is the Dual lamp worth it for £60? what does it do? give brighter?, sharper?, more deep and rich colours? or something else?
I have pavilion dv7, so far I had no problem. Now, when I login it logs in but then instead of showing me the home screen, it goes into blank black screen. It has just started to happen and I hope there is another way to make it work without rebooting the whole system.
For the past few months I've had issues with my display on my laptop. Â At times I would start the computer and it would either go to a black screen and take a very long time to load or I had to restart it to get it to go to the start screen.
How black is your RGBLED screen? If you look at the black screen (say, black desktop background) in a completely dark room, is the screen uniformly black? Mine has some slightly brighter "shadows" (well, it's actually the opposite of a shadow) towards the middle of the screen. Granted, this is a tough test for a laptop LCD, but for that kind of money I would have expected more. My M90 certainly does better in that regard, but I do seem to recall that the screen on that laptop had a similar issue, and did improve over time.
So, is what I am seeing normal, or should I get them to give me a new LCD?
I have a three year old E1705 and after several minutes using it the screen flickers a tad bit then goes black.
I can shut if off but it will not go back to normal until it wants to. Sometimes this is a half hour or sometimes several hours almost as if it is to hot but the CPU temp is normaly 45 C to 50 C.
2 days ago, when starting my computer (Windows logo after POST), my screen suddenly went black. After 20 seconds it changed to my external screen as normal. This made me suspicious as my screen usually goes black only for 2-3 seconds during startup.
After startup I tried changing back to the internal WUXGA screen on the laptop by pressing FN+F8.
What happened then was that from the left side of the laptop, I heard this weird high-frequency scratching sound. The screen went on for a fraction of a second ( I could see the desktop ) but then it instantly went black again.
What can be causing this?
I installed the WUXGA screen myself about half a year ago. Can this be caused by loose cable connection or something like that?
Yesterday while I was on my XPS 1530 laptop, the colors on the screen turned all screwy and then it crashed to blue screen. Odd...
It happened about 5 more times until when I tried to turn on my computer, the backlight on the screen would go on, but the screen itself would remain black.
I can actually hear it booting up normally, it even makes the window log-in noise, but there is simply no image on the screen at all. I even hooked up my external monitor to my laptop, but absolutely nothing comes up on it.
I have a dell xps m170 (2 and a half years old) and last 2 days im getting "funky" display problems...
Initially i got a black screen while in windows...nothing to do but reboot. That worked a couple of times...then after rebooting i get a "whiteish" screen that gradually got blacker from outside in..id say it looked like dark storm clouds
I also noticed that the laptop had gotten a lot hotter than normal...this had been gradually happening over time...so much so that i invested in a laptop case / pad to rest it on while working on it..anyways..after reading some threads here i grabbed some monitoring software and logged GPU temps of 70 spiking to 90ish...CPU from 55 to 90's...
Then the funniest thing happened, in order to boot up and avoid the "whiteish" screen and boot into windows i noticed if i attached an external monitor it worked more than if i didnt !! (no idea if this is relevant).
When i did get into windows...it'd look normal for a while, 10 mins or so..then go black (flicker) and id get a diff display res appear (bigger icons n such)..then what i can only describe as red..sometims yello dots, maybe 4 across (width ways ..like bars of them) running the full length of the screen...
Again after reading some threads decided to run the dell diag...That showed me some errors when it did the video test(i think)
Quote:
Error Code : 5300:0119. Detected a failure while writing and reading video memory. Video mode DH (320x200x16) Address A0044h expected to read 0h but read 101010h instead
he above error message was repeated quite a lot with different references to numbers...
Am i screwed ?? Do i have any options at all...Must point out im NOT a gamer at all...so graffix card isnt an issue, if indeed i can replace it?
When I start up my laptop the Windows splash screen loads but with vertical lines then the screen shows random fuzzy lines and colours and then the screen goes completely black and nothing happens.
At first I restarted and ran in Safe Mode and ran CCleaner which after restarting worked for a short period but then would suddenly go to a black screen and one occasion went to a blue screen with the following message
*** Hardware Malfunction Call your hardware vendor for support NMI: Parity Check/Memory Parity Error *** The system has halted *** .....
