I just ordered a Dell Studio 14 today, and it comes with 4GB of DDR3 1333MHz ram but in the Order Status page is says that it runs at 1066MHz. I was wondering why it is underclocked. Is it limited by the bus speed? Also, if it is limited to that speed, why would they sell 1333MHz ram if the max speed is 1066MHz?
Just purchased new Dell Inspiron 15 (3521). Wireless will only connect at 72Mbps. After some googling found this is by design. The adapter is the Dell Wireless 1703 Adapter. Can Dell pls confirm this is the case and that there is no way to achieve TRUE wireless N speeds ? The fact that this limitation is not advertised on any product material/brochure/sales rep is a concern. Would Dell replace the adapter with one capable of proper wireless N speeds free of charge ?
I'm interested in thickness of HDD in E130. I read that in E125 was 7 mm HDD and there is troubles with 9 mm. So, is E130 similar to E125(E130 is next-gen of this type netbooks, but there is huge posibility that Lenovo Engineers decided not to change HDD type)? Or 9 mm hard drive will work?
Installing msata breaks warranty agreement, doesn't it? amout msata SSD(i've read about installing SSD in other Thinkpad notebooks), but I need some proves for Edge E130:
1)Speed is limited by SATAII interface? 2)mSata drive as bootable device will work? Last questions are not such important, but i'll happy, if Edge E130/E135 users will share their experience
I ran several system checking software suites which showed errors in the hardware configuration because the motherboard is only capable of supporting a FSB of 800MHz.
Does anyone have a similar issue or can provide an explanation about this?..
I know the memory is 800MHz but I expected this deluxe CPU to be supported by the motherboard and run at 1066MHZ...
So does anyone know of one that actually works? I have tried i8kfangui, but it no longer works with Windows Vista 64 bit, due to the unsigned drivers issue.
I disabled the signed drivers thing by booting while pressing F8.. and it installed perfectly and worked until I restarted Windows normally..
Then it said fanio driver not found or something, and refused to work unless I boot by pressing F8..
So anyone have a solution? Speedfan doesn't seem to work either.. I want to set the fans not to kick in so load until a certain temp .....
I have changed my dell studio 1535 motherboard after ordering a refurbished one from dell. When reconnecting all the parts, everything worked well except the control media button <Previous Track> which was lighting up by itself from time to time.
I unplugged the media control panel, plugged it up again. This time the media panel is lighting up intermittently and the laptop cooler is at maximum. Unplugged again, a cable pin was short circuited and got broken in the process :(.
Fixed the cable, now the media control panel is completely down and the cooler runs at maximum speed. Removing the media panel fixes the cooler issue.
As I am not an expert into this, I was wondering if changing the panel will fix my problem or the faulty connection could have broken the motherboard control panel circuit.
PS. When running diagnostic via F12 key, no faulty issue is detected.
We have several Latitude E7240's on our network. They are configured with Windows 7 x64. We have been having trouble with this particular model in regards to wireless connections.
When the laptop is powered on and the user logs in, the laptop connects to the wireless network, however it is not getting an IP address from the router. It sticks at "limited connectivity", and gives itself a "169" IP. It stays that way for about 5 or so minutes then finally connects.
The WLAN drivers are already to the latest version, and to "bandaid" the issue, I have to uninstall the Wireless NIC drivers then reinstall them.
At first I was thinking it may be a router issue (Which is a Sonicwall TZ210W), but it can't be because its wireless devices of differing models have no problem connecting and getting an IP address. Also, it starts working once the drivers are reinstalled (though I'm not confident this is a permanent fix).
All the E7240's have the Dell 1506 Wireless card, and are all and originally were) on driver version 10.0.0.268, A02. Also, I have tried turned off any power management settings of the WNIC prior to the driver reinstall.
I have just received my new Inspiron 15R which I cannot fault, even after the minefield of getting to grips with Windows 8.........However for some reason my wifi connection will be stable for about 10 minutes and then show limited connection with no internet access although the network connection is very good! All other laptops and devices are still connected!
I'm thinking about getting an HP Mini 311 from the HP website. I plan on getting it with the N280 CPU, Ion graphics and Windows XP (I need XP for some hardware I want to use that doesn't have W7 drivers). The problem is that the HP site won't let me order it with 2 or 3 GB of RAM unless I order it with Windows 7. Is the Mini 311 limited to 1 GB of RAM under XP or can I upgrade this on my own later? I thought XP could address up to 4 GB of RAM?
I have Dell Inspiron 5521 bought recently. My WiFi is get disconnected intermittently. Connection would go in Limited state sometimes or would disconnect completely for sometime.
I have other laptops on the network and they don't disconnect. Im on my home network. Whats wrong with the network adapter?
Am i correct in thinking that the current sony vaio fw with the 1920x1080 screen only offers two other very low resolutions.
Ive heard that the text on webpages can be hard to read because of the high native resolution,
i think i have perfect eye sight so is it a big problem for other users? is there anyway to switch it to 1600x900 for web browsing and 1920x1080 for film viewing?
What exactly does that mean in SIMPLE terms. Sony makes it all confusing and i'm like ? I don't know if i should get an extra warranty or if the Manufacturer's Limited Warranty is enough for now.
I have got a new Dell Inspiron 3521 i5 with 4GB RAM - 64 bit OS - Windows 7 - Service Pack 1 Laptop, everything works good except, the problem with my Wi-Fi Connectivity.
The issue I'm experiencing is with the Internet connectivity, my Wi-Fi connectivity loses frequently and I get message saying "Limited Access", and gives me an option to reconnect it manually which is a bit disappointing. .
Rest all works pretty fine, I'm satisfied about it. Just this error, disappoints me.
The troubleshooting I have tried so far is -
1) Resetting router for 30 seconds and restarting it - did not fix my problem.
2) Checking firewall settings - did not fix my problem either.
I have a HP ENVY TS 15-j004sa Notebook PC running windows 8.1with Beats Audio Under normal circumstances, listening to music or films close up with no other sounds around, the volume is not a problem. But, if i need to raise the volume either because i am further away or because there is some other distracting sound, I find myself very limited in how much i can raise the sound - and i am not talking about trying to get an ear splitting volume.
This is true even if i have everything at max: the Windows 8.1 Settings volume, the volume control on the task bar of the desktop and the volume control on the application. Is there anything i can do to give more flexibility to the volume?
I have been having an issue with my laptops internet for the past few days . It would work for an hour and then all of a sudden stop . I would get a notification saying no network access . The internet on every other device in my house is working fine . So far I have unplugged and rep lugged the modem . I have searched everywhere online and I found no solutions . I have a HP G 42 notebook PC.
I am having problems with my Wifi on my HP DV6 7011TX (Product Number: B0P39PA#ACJ)I updated from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and started facing Wifi problems. Initially on starting laptop, Wifi get connected automatically.. But after 5-10 minutes it shows LIMITED Connectivity. When I turn ON Flight mode and then OFF it, it gets back to full connection. But, after sometime it goes back to LIMITED. This keeps on happening.I've tried installing various versions of Broadcom & Intel WLAN Adapter Drivers!. Still no success!I called HP Support but, they told me that they can't do anything as I'm on Windows 8.1. They said me to rollback to Windows 8 and I don't want to do so. "Download over metered connections" is also set ON... (While writing this post Wifi went into limited connectivity once!)
I have an HP 10 S Notebook and I will lose wireless internet connectivity after I've been online for a while. It will show as "limited" and when I click to reconnect it shows I have no internet available. I've run the diagnostics when that has happened and it tells me there is an issue with the wireless card. I can shut the computer down and restart then it's working fine. This has been happening about once a day.
I'm using a seconday (spare) power adapter at home, for my y50. The adapter is a 20 volt / 90 watt unit. My primary adapter (in work) is the original adapter that came with the Y50, a 20 volt / 120 watt unit. When using the laptop with the spare adapter (the 90 watt unit) I get a Lenovo Energy Manager message that pops up stating "Adapter has limited support" and "Performance will be affected if the power adapter cannot provide enough charge". Presumably the laptop would need more than 90 watts to drive it if the CPU and /or video were working hard? Do you see any issues using that adapter for day to day work, that is, not gaming? Also, can the messge be disabled?
I have yoga 2 13 model name 20344 and my wifi connection gets limited on random time, I have installed . 2012.4.1022.2013 driver, these are latest available drivers.
I am having problems with my Wifi on my HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 (Product number: D2H26EA#ABD)I updated from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and as well as Qualcomm Atheros QCA9000 Series Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows by the suggestion of Hp support Assistance. After that started facing Wifi problems. Initially on starting laptop, Wifi get connected automatically.. But after 5-10 minutes it shows LIMITED Connectivity. After few seconds or minuts later get connection again or When I turn ON Flight mode and then OFF it, it gets back to full connection. But, after sometime it goes back to LIMITED. This keeps on happening.I've tried installing various versions of Broadcom & Intel WLAN Adapter Drivers!. Still no success! While writing this post Wifi went into limited connectivity once!
Just bought an Acer Aspire E15 and have been setting it up today and managed to get connected to the internet through the wi-fi however I have noticed that the wifi keeps dropping and leaves me with nothing and then I have to manually go in and select the router again. This is happening all the time, I am on the internet for no longer than 2 mins before I get the unable to access the network. There is no problem with the network it just seems to be my new laptop. I looked this up and was told to change the power management settings and did so and am still have the same problem. I also updated the driver and again am still having the problem. Also tried ipconfig /flushdns and again the problem persists!
The most glaring omission for OpenCL is for desktops with ATI GPUs, namely the HD 2400XT, HD 2600Pro, HD2600XT, and HD3870. Now it's not like these GPUs can't support GPGPU operation since they already do so in Windows under ATI's own CTM and Brook+ language.
ATI's OpenCL drivers for Windows should be available soon, they were promised for H1, and if it turns out the HD2xxx and HD3xxx series is capable of supporting OpenCL but only in Windows and not OS X it'd be very disappointing. Somehow I don't think Apple envisions iMac users having to use Boot Camp to use OpenCL accelerated apps.............
I am having a Acer E1-571 windows 8 laptop. Since after a recent upgradation to windows 8.1 my wifi is showing limited connectivity. But other devices connected to this router (D-Link) is having internet. My wireless adapter is Broadcom 802.11 adapter.
The Wifi on this laptop keeps either dropping connection, or changing to a "limited" network. Sometimes it works fine, but more often than not it drops out. All other wifi enabled devices in my house work fine, so I know it's not the internet. I've also tested on two other networks where the same dropping out occurs.
Windows 8 64 Bit Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (up to date)
I just got a new Lenovo U430 touch. Major problem: I only get limited wireless. I should note that it hasn't connected wirelessly once. It does connect fine via LAN ( I kept the cables!). I tried calling Lenovo but they said it must be my router and I should contact my internet provider (which I don't understand since the internet provider has nothing to do with the router.)
The laptop does connect wireless for about 5 seconds (I once managed to open an email before the connection slipped). Then it shows the yellow exclamation point in front of the wireless icon on the right-bottom screen. If I troubleshoot, it fixes the default gateway. Repeat. Sometimes it says that the "default gateway is not available."
Things I have tried per other similar questions asked online: unistalled McAfee, including with the removal toolpower cylcing my router, laptop, and cable modemuninstalling the wireless driver and restarting the laptop Some notes: the system came with Windows 8.1I have two other devices wirelessly connected to the same router with no problem. I'm sitting about 8 feet from the router.the only programs I've downloaded are Firefox and then finally Kaspersky (since I uninstalled McAfee) I'm pretty good with computers, but this seems beyond me. It's a new laptop and it should work, darn it!
Since getting my Acer switch 10 i have suffered limited connectivity issues on the device, this then states there are no access points available and then will not resolve itself until i restart the device. This happens on different routers and ISP's and i have updated the drivers from Acer support site with no avail. the issues happens about one a week to fortnightly and i have tried several reinstalls but nothing changes.
