did you find your temps to be the same turbo?
A friend of mine works for intel in devolopment. So I been talking to him latly about the t7600 vs the t7600G . He basically said intel does not make a t7600G there is no such thing, he looked into it with a few of the other engineers. So this is what Im guessing, dell does something VERY simple to the t7600 that allows it to set a flag so the bios can detect it as a factory option and allow the overclock . . .So this is what im doing. Im bored until school starts up again (im a engineering student starting my masters in the fall) , I have access to a nems lab and engineering lab for 2 weeks before school starts. Im going to order a t7600 off ebay or here and ask my buddy to bring in his xps t7600G. Im going to test the pin outs in the lab and look for changes.
It must be a very small change and something simple that they do to allow it to throw a flag. So hopefully with a manual of pinouts I can test the i/o, resistance, etc and find the change.
I just got my new laptop and the invoice says that it's a T7600. When I look into the system properties it show a 2.33 Ghz T7600.
But when I go into my BIOS, it has an adjustment to overclock my processor. I overclocked it to 2.83 Ghz and according to my I8KFangui and my system properties it is showing it running @ 2.83 Ghz.
So does this mean that I actually have the T7600G, or does it mean that I have the T7600 an I am going to screw it up by overclocking it!
Is the 7950GTX with the T7600 as good as the E1705's gonna get with it's current motherboard?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have an XPS M1710 Core Duo, with an upgraded 7950 GTX GPU which I'm going to be changing to a Quadro 3500M for OpenGL.
If I change the CPU from a T2500(2 GhZ) to a T7600(2.33 GhZ). Will my Mobo run at 64bit or not? My brothers seems to think not, and I'm not sure on this one!.
I had never thought too much about the temperature in my laptop averaging about 134F (57C), but after I upgraded my desktop to an E6700 and it was running at about 86F (30C), I figured I'd take a second look at my laptop
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know that the T7600 runs @ 2.33 GHZ with the same FSB and also the same L2 Cache, but what striked me is that when I was looking for the T7600 I found that the PRICE IS CRAZY, avaerging $650 to $750.... This is Freakingly insane! I don't know why, well after eBaying I found it for arround $200 USED, So Im currently thinking about buying it.
BUT, I'm very worried that those $200 will be thrown away if the T7600 will not work in my VGN-SZ48GN_C.
confirm that it will work?
THE SZ Is an awesome machine, mine is Made In Japan, and I just can't justify seeling it for cheap $$$ and getting the Z Model, thats why I opted for UPGRADING the following:
1. CPU from T7200 to T7600
2. SSD 64GB
3. Maybe later a 64-Bit Vista (if I found all the drivers for that OS)
I flicked through the 78 Pages in this thread willing to find information about plp getting a CPU Upgrade, but unfortunately the SZ48GN has no luck.
I guess that the T7600 2.33 GHz and L2 Cache of 4 MB will compete with latest P and/or T series CPU, will this upgrade Boost my overall system Performance?
Its time that we polish our SZ and save the bucks of buying the Z, it has its beauty as well, I admit it, but Think that Upgrading the SZ will give us a boost while being easy on our Pockets.
If you guys check for the T7600 using Google, you will be shocked by the prices, but use eBay instead, and then the magic will show............
I have an m1710 laptop. A few days ago when I wanted power it up it would start loading, but nothing would show on the monitor and the LED indicators near the media button would light up.
The first one from the left would stay on and next two would flash together while the last two are off. I tried hoilding down FN key when loading so I can load dell diagnostics but it won't do that. Tried to hookup an external monitor but that didn't help.
Tried powering up with the d key pressed in to run a graphics check but didn't work. Since the comnputer is no longer under waranty I took it apart and took out the Nvidia card and cleared the dust around it.
Right after that the computer loaded fine but today it got stuch while in windows and when I tried loading it I got the same err msgs with the LED indicators. I talked with Dell locally and they told me it's 99% the Nvidia card
This is on a vostro 1400 with the notorious 8400M. Recently, whenever I run a game (any game, even older ones like WC3) or anything graphics-intensive such as movies, the cpu load increases until it hits 100% and the system basically freezes until I exit whatever program was running.
For the first 5-10 of a game, everything runs smoothly, but eventually the cpu load maxes and I have to quit. the sound is also messed up, which i think is just an effect of the cpu load.
where to buy a 6x slot load blu-ray player to up grade my dell studio 17 notebook
View 10 Replies View RelatedI bought yesterday the 640GB WD HDD and I tried to install it but Windows will not load. It will get stuk in the "loading screen" and will not advance to ask my password.
To complicate things, Windows actually loaded once, the driver setup programm was launched, the HDD was not visible and when I tried to restart it got stuck again.
Once I removed the drive everything loaded as usually.
I just got the xps 1640 today and I'm very distracted by the loud system fan. It's audible all the time even when the computer is idle. I haven't been doing anything intensive on my computer either. The fan starts as soon as windows loads and never stops. I know this laptop has heat issues but I checked the core temp and it is only between 38-45degrees C. I know the fan can get louder under load, this is what I would describe as idle but still, it seems way too loud. It was raining earlier and I could hear the fan over the sound of raindrops hitting my roof. It's getting unbearable!!
Has anyone had the same experience? Or more importantly does anyone have a way to reduce the speed of the fan slighty? Speedfan doesn't seem to support my motherboard so I can't do it there.

I8200 with orginal 40GB hitachi HD DK23EB-40. So I left the notebook run overnight (nothing new) has cooling pad and another fan sitting on the side running air over it. When I came to in in the morning it was locked so I rebooted. I got an error message and it doesn't want to boot. It does boot with another HD I have so the HD is the problem. I previously had a problem with another used HD that had a problem like this on another laptop and had someone i know work on it. To me it looked like he made a partition and placed the whole corupted OS with files inside of a fresh os install. I don't want to try and do a repair with the reinstall CD. Tried that once and didn't work so I don't want to to take a chance. Anyone know what he might have done? I have partition magic 8 if this is what's needed, but how to do this?
View 12 Replies View RelatedAfter a month of using my laptop, today is actually the first day I'm trying out this slot load drive.
I inserted a CD given by my instructor, it was running really slow and some cranky / buzzing noise could be heard from it. I mean is it normal ? It loads kinda slow too.?
Everything was working fine until lately I noticed that during the BIOS the loading bar stops 4/5 of the way for around 10 seconds,
then I hear the slot load drive turn on and only then my computer boots up .....
Looking at getting one of these... what are the temps under load and idle of this laptop (of the cpu and the gpu)?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have been having some problems with my slot-load drive (TEAC DVW-28SLC). It has been coastering a lot of DVD-DL disks lately and overall it is very slow. I have been reading that they are putting faster drives in the newer M1530's. After a long battle with XPS support, I convinced them to replace the drive. Do you think I will get one of the faster drives or will I be stuck with the same drive? I really don't use it all that much, but when I do want to use it, it is a major pain, especially when it coasters expensive DL-DVD's.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo I just got my new 1647 replacement set up finally and one thing I keep running into is an INCREDIBLY long black load screen between the windows 7 animation thingy and when you actually log in..
Even the windows 7 animation takes longer to load than normal...Than I get a black screen for a good 2 minutes before my mouse then shows up then about another 30 secs I get the login finally...
Whats going on? I have my old 1640 side by side and it boots instantly!
where to find a slot load DVD DL or Blue Ray drive for my m1710? I got a pioneer K06(?) for my 9300 and the bezel is too small for the hole and it sits too far back. Works great, but doesnt look so good.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am still not able to use my laptop as the thing won't or can't load user profile, all I get is the message user profile service failed the logon. I ran the F12 at start up and performed the extended diagnostic test which tells me everything is just peachy.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I open the lid to the laptop and hit the power button, the 3 buttons on the top of the keyboard cycle through and the power comes on, but the only thing that happens next is the screen turns on with a slight brightness, but it doesn't load any further. It doesn't even load to the Dell logo. If I tap the power button again, all lights and monitor goes off with a beep noise.Â
I have taken the battery out, unplugged the power cord and held the power button for over 15 seconds. This did not do anything.Â
My Studio 1558 passes' the post test with the Dell logo and black bar underneath. Windows 7 does not load but the cursor appears in the upper left hand corner of the monitor. I can't log into safe mode or do anything with the computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was cleaning my computer and got it back together and had one of the HDD's die. I replaced it with a differany HDD, reformatted and installed the OS (Vista) but when I start it up the BIOS gets about 80% loaded and then next 20 takes 2-3 min. to load. It used to be much faster, within a matter of seconds. I tried reflashing the BIOS but that didn't change anything. Anyone have suggestions? Computer is the Inspiron 1720 in my sig.

cpu 1 was 44c
cpu 2 was 47c
gpu was 36c
are these good numbers?
for some reason my hd would take forever to load and made clicking noises.
but then it goes away after a couple boots that take forever to boot..
now it acts all fine boots fine and everything..

Does anyone have any information or updated drivers for this drive. The only Blueray drive listed on Dells driver page is the BC-5600S.
The laptop is only 2 months old. Is this a newer drive or is the 5600 the replacement.
I am not happy with the performance of the drive so far, blueray movies sometimes stop while it searches the disk, and I am yet to successfully burn a Dual-layer disk (verbatim).
after reading [url]i just wonder if there is any dell i7 laptop with i7-920xm cpu, working under 100% cpu for over 6 hours a day, with no throttling issue, no over heat issue(max cpu temperature under 85C in 25C room), no overloud fan noise issue(fan noise no more than 40db)?
