I have a store-bought copy of Oblivion with the latest update. I bought the Horse Armor Pack and Vile Lair Pack, but both refuse to install. I get to the screen where I enter the serial number, hit the 'Next' button, and that's where they both freeze. Under Data Files nothing shows up as being installed either. Wondering if I'm overlooking something..
View 13 RepliesI have dell studio 17 notebook with vista home premium SP1, and I'm not sure if I should install the new SP2, i'm afraid that the notebook could have problems with this update, like problems to boot windows again or some catastrophic error like that.
Has anybody install this update on this notebook, should I expect problems ? Someone note real improvements thank to this SP ? Like faster boot up or better general OS performance ?
I just have a simple question, what does Serivce Pack 3 means? is there service pack 1,2 and 3?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm reformating a VAIO that originally came with XP Home RTM. The recovery discs have vanilla XP on it, so no service pack, not even SP1. Yes, its an older VAIO, but I am hoping to breath new life into it by starting fresh. Now, I am just wondering, after reformatting from the recovery discs, about the install sequence. Should I first install the Sony updates from the esupport site, or should I first upgrade to the latest service pack (SP3) and then install the Sony updates?
The other crappy thing is I can't go straight to SP3, SP3 requires a minimum of SP1. That means I have to do to service pack installs, which in my opinion may have ill effects on performance on the finished product. So I have two options to get to SP3, which is better and cleaner:
RTM->SP1a->SP3
RTM->SP2->SP3
All of a sudden the battery is showing 8% and not charging with the power pack plugged in, took a power pack from another
Dell and it showed same not charging, am i correct in figuring it is the battery because if it was the power pack it would probably shut down, which actually it did when i booted up without the battery pack plugged in
I am shipping my Acer 5315-2713 to Texas Acer repair. What is the best way to pack a laptop? I never had to do this before.
Acer said I only have a year warranty on this laptop is that normal for a laptop? It seems short to me. Has long as it covers a free LCD repair I am happy.
I am talking about the pack that's in between the laptop plug and the sock plug. I'm sitting about a foot away from it and I can hear a little buzzing, plus it is hot to touch (I can touch it for a few seconds though).

I have assumed it was the Sigmatel driver that had prevented me from receivng SP 1. Is there anyone else for whom SP1 has recently become available and installed successfully? I am very hestitant to allow the install.

I managed to clear off the trojan horse, except now my computer has several problems:
1. All my CD-ROM Drive Drivers are corrupt
2. I can't access some system files to install applications
3. My C-Drive space decreases at a phenomenal rate
Per the Oblivion website, recommended CPU is a 3Ghz or higher. Minimum requirement is 2Ghz. For me, everything runs fine until an enemy shows up. Even if the enemy is BEHIND me, in pursuit, not being rendered, things get a bit laggy. Is this due to the fact that my 2Ghz CPU just cannot keep up with this CPU intensive game? If so, will the T7600 fix anything? That's only 330Mhz extra, and still errs on the side of minimum requirements. I've got the low-poly grass mod, and have done all of the Oblivion.ini tweaks that I felt were applicable.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell e1705 with a 7900gs o/c'd, a t2300, also 2 gigs of 667mhz ram and I am running xp. Oblivion doesn't seem to get much gains from resolution drops or shutting off distant landscape. I also notice intermittent lag and the other times I'm running from 30-50 fps. Do you think it could be this processor? I also did the tweaks for oblivion and I'm running default dell drivers. I really think it could be the processor because when it doesn't lag it runs smooth, and it'll jus be a short but annoying freeze up. I'm thinking of reformatting which isnt a big thing to me. Maybe it's just too many numbers for my 1.67 ghz core duo to crunch? I keep my PC's health maintained.

but i wanna try out playing it with the mods some people have come up with. So i bought it for PC and installed it on my D620.
The problem is that every time i click "Play" in the main menu, the quickly says "Oblivion has stopped working" and then it exits Oblivion. Can anyone help? I don't know much about computers. I'll get you whatever information you need to help me out

I also dont know that how to launch that window in which i can change the boot priority. In my pc that i use in home i press del after starting my computer and a window comes where i change my boot priority and then boot from cd windows xp and install it. But in this case i dont know how to install xp. and my next question is that can i play cd in DVD-Dual double layer.
I don't have the ssd msata option in the laptop I just purchased from Newegg so I decided to buy a samsung 840 250g ssd and do a clean install of win 7.Updated ssd to latest firmware, disabled secure boot in bios, sata was already set to ACHI, installed ssd and started loading win 7. It would get to the point that the tiles are floating around and it says "starting windows" and then locks up. Tried this several times and same thing.
Finally tried changing boot mode from eufi to legacy it works fine. I got win 7 installed. Now if I try to go back to eufi boot mode it just goes to a black screen (on start up) and displays detecting media (or something like that).So I guess my question is:
1. Why did I have to switch to legacy mode to begin with
2. Does leaving it in legacy boot mode affect performance?
One last thing, since installing win 7 I have been unable to install the nvidia drivers downloaded from dell for win 7. It either starts and immediately fails or it installs a little then I get a blue screen and the computer reboots.
I just bought an Insprion 7520, and upgraded the windows os to ultimate. However after reading few reviews of this os, I wanted to switch back to Home Premium so that it would be like I bought it. However after installing Home Premium, some of the drivers that I downloaded from the Dell Drivers and Downloads website were unable to install. These problems have also lowered the laptops score in the Windows Performance Index. The GRAPHICS score went from 6.6 to 5.6 and RAM socre 7.9 to 7.7.

I recently had to replace the hard drive on my Studio 1558 laptop and reinstalled the operating system using the disk that came with it. All went well until I had to reinstall the device drivers to get my device to access the internet via wifi. So far, I can't seem to get the driver for the device that allows my laptop to see any wireless connections and have to plug in a network cable to go on the internet. how I can get the right device drivers other than using the device driver disk?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter booting from the XP SP3 disk, I could format the Vista partition and the laptop re-booted after copying the installation files. After boot-up and the Windows XP screen, came the installation screen. The laptop stut down after about a minute on this screen. I tried again but to the same effect.
The disk is ok and there is no disk read error.
Two weeks ago i bought DELL Inspiron 7720. I bought it with Ubuntu OS.
Last weekend i have reinstall os to win 7 64 bit on it.
Everything works fine but i'm unable to install Geforce 650M driver.
System can't see this card only Intel HD Graphic 4000.
I try to reinstall the OS couple of thimes and everytime my system can't see Geforce.
What should i do to install Geforce drivers ?

i just bought an acer aspire 5102wlmi without a HD for a friend. so i went and bought a HD and proceeded to install windows XP home service pack 2.
the problem is it constantly stays in a loop, i load and boot from the disc, it copies all the files, reboots, loads the files, says starting windows, and then just starts all over by going back to the setup screen. i've formatted the drive and made multiple attempts. had anyone else had this problem? if so what is the solution?

Radeon R5 M230 Graphics Card with 2GB graphics Memory
I installed Windows 8 Enterprise 64-Bit Edition. I am facing is that I am not able to install the drivers for R5 M230 Graphics. I updated the BIOS, tried downloading latest drivers from AMD website too. Still, the system is just not recognising the hardware. It is showing up as Video Controller. But I am unable to install driver even after using driver update option.
I have recently purchased HP 15-d009TU Notebook PC. It came with DOS installed. I have installed Windows 7 64 bit OS. I have downloaded the drivers listed in Drivers & Download section in HP.com but most of these drivers (Intel chipset driver, Graphics driver, Audio driver, etc.) do not work. While trying to install, most of them says that it does not meet minimum system requirements although all the system requirements mentioned in the requirements list are present.
Now, I am unable to use even the USB ports in my laptop.
