After booting from the XP SP3 disk, I could format the Vista partition and the laptop re-booted after copying the installation files. After boot-up and the Windows XP screen, came the installation screen. The laptop stut down after about a minute on this screen. I tried again but to the same effect.
The disk is ok and there is no disk read error.
I have all drivers except audio drivers working on my dv2940se running on XP. audio drivers for XP for dv2940se?

But in this case i dont know how to install xp. and my next question is that can i play cd in DVD-Dual double layer.

i just bought an acer aspire 5102wlmi without a HD for a friend. so i went and bought a HD and proceeded to install windows XP home service pack 2.
the problem is it constantly stays in a loop, i load and boot from the disc, it copies all the files, reboots, loads the files, says starting windows, and then just starts all over by going back to the setup screen. i've formatted the drive and made multiple attempts. had anyone else had this problem? if so what is the solution?

Radeon R5 M230 Graphics Card with 2GB graphics Memory
I installed Windows 8 Enterprise 64-Bit Edition. I am facing is that I am not able to install the drivers for R5 M230 Graphics. I updated the BIOS, tried downloading latest drivers from AMD website too. Still, the system is just not recognising the hardware. It is showing up as Video Controller. But I am unable to install driver even after using driver update option.
I have recently purchased HP 15-d009TU Notebook PC. It came with DOS installed. I have installed Windows 7 64 bit OS. I have downloaded the drivers listed in Drivers & Download section in HP.com but most of these drivers (Intel chipset driver, Graphics driver, Audio driver, etc.) do not work. While trying to install, most of them says that it does not meet minimum system requirements although all the system requirements mentioned in the requirements list are present.
Now, I am unable to use even the USB ports in my laptop.
I'm not able to install the latest graphics driver from nvidia. It installs the latest GeForce Experience software but that says the 332.50 driver is up to date. The 337.88 driver is WHQL certified and lists compatibility with the 860m but when trying to install it, it says "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." On nvidia's website, it says "Your product manufacturer requires you to download a driver for your device from their website" but it's 332.50 is pretty outdated at this point. Any way I can get the updated drivers installed?
View 9 Replies View Related I don't have the ssd msata option in the laptop I just purchased from Newegg so I decided to buy a samsung 840 250g ssd and do a clean install of win 7.Updated ssd to latest firmware, disabled secure boot in bios, sata was already set to ACHI, installed ssd and started loading win 7. It would get to the point that the tiles are floating around and it says "starting windows" and then locks up. Tried this several times and same thing.
Finally tried changing boot mode from eufi to legacy it works fine. I got win 7 installed. Now if I try to go back to eufi boot mode it just goes to a black screen (on start up) and displays detecting media (or something like that).So I guess my question is:
1. Why did I have to switch to legacy mode to begin with
2. Does leaving it in legacy boot mode affect performance?
One last thing, since installing win 7 I have been unable to install the nvidia drivers downloaded from dell for win 7. It either starts and immediately fails or it installs a little then I get a blue screen and the computer reboots.
I just bought an Insprion 7520, and upgraded the windows os to ultimate. However after reading few reviews of this os, I wanted to switch back to Home Premium so that it would be like I bought it. However after installing Home Premium, some of the drivers that I downloaded from the Dell Drivers and Downloads website were unable to install. These problems have also lowered the laptops score in the Windows Performance Index. The GRAPHICS score went from 6.6 to 5.6 and RAM socre 7.9 to 7.7.

I have both Intel and ATI switchable graphics in my laptop. I recently reinstalled Windows & If I try to install the ATI drivers from the drivers CD or from the HP website, the laptop hangs on the Windows logo after a restart and I have to do a system restore to fix it. If I try to install just the Intel driver it just gives me an error that says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirement to install the software". I am unable to change the brightness and the resolution is bad. In Device manager both the options under display adapter say "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter", with a yellow error sign over one of them. I am worried if the graphics card is damaged from over heating. Is it possible to disable one of the cards to check functionality of the other?
I have an ENVY 17 (3277nr) with windows 8.1 in it but I'm unable to update it since several months ago so I decided to reinstall the OS so I went to the windows site that lets you download an ISO image of windows 8.1 to burn it into a disc (right now I dont have a 4gb usb at hand but is also possible).
I already burned the disc by right clicking the ISO and selecting 'burn disc image' and changed the boot options but every time I turn on my computer all I see is a single underscore and then the regular windows 8 boot screen.
I already visited wbesites in this regard and I've read things like the windows 8 UEFI thing (not on my laptop since I've upgraded from w7) and the security settings on the BIOS but none of them seem to fix the problem.

Oddly, when trying to open the burned dvd it only says 4.37gb out of 4.37gb, do you think my dvd drive might be damaged?

All went well until I had to reinstall the device drivers to get my device to access the internet via wifi. I managed to install Windows 7 on it, but it doesn't recognise some hardware.
Luckily audio and video works as well as the touchpad and DVD-rom, but I don't have any of network adapters installed, nor USB, and I still cannot find any drivers for them.
It shows a dozen of pieces of hardware needed to be installed.
I recently bought the dos version of 15-r006tu and upgraded with pre bought windows 8.1 but am unable to install the inbuit bluetooth device that comes with the notebook. The device manager displays a PCi device in nor installed but I have installed all the drivers provided in the hp website. Downloaded the driver 8 times from the website (complete 88.5 mb) but the installation stops prematurely.

I am unable to detect any bluetooth device in my laptop and my laptop's bluetooth also is not detecting in any other device (Say in my cell). When I tried install Broadcom bluetooth 4.0 driver software it showing error "No bluetooth device was detected. I had recently performed a clean install on my notebook PC and when I rebooted it, the drivers for the PCI device and the SM BUS Controller were missing. When I go to Device Manager and try to reinstall them or check for hardware changes, my computer is unable to install them. I was also missing my Ethernet and Wireless network drivers but I installed the appropriate drivers via the HP support website. However, I am still missing these two drivers. I have already tried to install the AMD chipset on my laptop but that just creates more problems because after the program asks me to reboot the computer it stays stuck at the Windows loading screen (rotating colours around the Windows logo).

i installed windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on my HP Pavilion G6-2005ax after formatting. I downloaded and installed all of my drivers from here . But 'Ralink 2011 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter ' and 'Ralink 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN Adapter Driver ' fails to install. There is yellow symbol on 'Network controllers' in Device manager. As this wasn't already installed on the machine, I have downloaded it (tvtvrnr4.52_005en.exe) but it won't install. I am getting the message 'Error 25014 There was an error installing the Rescue and Recovery boot manager. Return code: 6'. How to resolve it or an alternative way or creating recovery discs?

I would like to change it's preinstalled Linux with a Windows 7 version. But I don't know which exact versions of Windows 7 this particular model is compatible with, because I failed to install the AMD graphics adapter driver from the support DVD disk on a Windows 7 64bit. Do I miss something ? Need I, for example, make any changes in the BIOS ?

I have a store-bought copy of Oblivion with the latest update. I bought the Horse Armor Pack and Vile Lair Pack, but both refuse to install. I get to the screen where I enter the serial number, hit the 'Next' button, and that's where they both freeze. Under Data Files nothing shows up as being installed either.
