HP Probook 4530s Display :: Unable To Install Graphic Drivers?

I have both Intel and ATI switchable graphics in my laptop. I recently reinstalled Windows & If I try to install the ATI drivers from the drivers CD or from the HP website, the laptop hangs on the Windows logo after a restart and I have to do a system restore to fix it. If I try to install just the Intel driver it just gives me an error that says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirement to install the software". I am unable to change the brightness and the resolution is bad. In Device manager both the options under display adapter say "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter", with a yellow error sign over one of them. I am worried if the graphics card is damaged from over heating. Is it possible to disable one of the cards to check functionality of the other?

Apr 20, 2014I have recently purchased HP 15-d009TU Notebook PC. It came with DOS installed. I have installed Windows 7 64 bit OS. I have downloaded the drivers listed in Drivers & Download section in HP.com but most of these drivers (Intel chipset driver, Graphics driver, Audio driver, etc.) do not work. While trying to install, most of them says that it does not meet minimum system requirements although all the system requirements mentioned in the requirements list are present.
Now, I am unable to use even the USB ports in my laptop.

Jun 3, 2014I'm not able to install the latest graphics driver from nvidia. It installs the latest GeForce Experience software but that says the 332.50 driver is up to date. The 337.88 driver is WHQL certified and lists compatibility with the 860m but when trying to install it, it says "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." On nvidia's website, it says "Your product manufacturer requires you to download a driver for your device from their website" but it's 332.50 is pretty outdated at this point. Any way I can get the updated drivers installed?

Mar 8, 2013 I don't have the ssd msata option in the laptop I just purchased from Newegg so I decided to buy a samsung 840 250g ssd and do a clean install of win 7.Updated ssd to latest firmware, disabled secure boot in bios, sata was already set to ACHI, installed ssd and started loading win 7. It would get to the point that the tiles are floating around and it says "starting windows" and then locks up. Tried this several times and same thing.
Finally tried changing boot mode from eufi to legacy it works fine. I got win 7 installed. Now if I try to go back to eufi boot mode it just goes to a black screen (on start up) and displays detecting media (or something like that).So I guess my question is:
1. Why did I have to switch to legacy mode to begin with
2. Does leaving it in legacy boot mode affect performance?
One last thing, since installing win 7 I have been unable to install the nvidia drivers downloaded from dell for win 7. It either starts and immediately fails or it installs a little then I get a blue screen and the computer reboots.

Sep 1, 2009I want to use my notebook to do a presentation in class. However, no matter which projector I connect to my Vaio SZ440, the display is unable to be shown on the projector.
I've tried Fn+F7, not working, tried stamina mode, not working, tried speed mode, not working. I've tried "Connect to a projector or other external display", not working. I've no idea what I should do. I really need to fix this or else I'll get screwed this semester. Every other notebook the projector connects to, it will automatically detect and show the display. Only mine is like this.
Please help. About 1 year ago I didn't experience any problem when connecting to a projector. I didn't remember what exactly I do to make it go bad. But I really need it to work this semester.

Dec 29, 2008I have a brand new HP Envy X2 (15-C001dx) with Windows 8.1. So far it works fine by itself. I tried connecting an external monitor to the laptop using an HDMI cable from the laptop to an LG L246WPQ display. The problem is that 10-15% of the left side of the laptop screen content does not appear on the external monitor. Missing from the external monitor is the word "Start" in the upper left corner along with roughly the 2 leftmost columns of tiles. This occurs in both "Duplicate display" or "Only display on screen 2" modes. This is using a resolution of 1680x1050 which both the laptop and the LG appear to support. Using the touch screen on the laptop I can scroll the tiles to the right and see the missing leftmost columns. The information that is displayed on the external monitor begins as far left as that monitor will display. In other words, there is no black/blank area on the left. Except for the missing information on the left side, the content of the rest of the external monitor looks fine. I updated the laptop's video driver to the latest on HP.COM. No change in behavior. I tried every option I could find on the LG OnScreenDisplay, but nothing made the display any better.

Dec 28, 2014i have recently purchased and HP Envy 17 laptop and have been trying to backup all of my iPhone 5s photos and videos onto the laptop however every time i try to play videos either through the photos folder or the photos library app nothing works.In the photo app the app just freezes and crashes and in the photos documents folder media player just comes up not responding. This happens with the vast majority of my videos.
I have seen that other people have had the same issue and i have installed the VLC video app as suggested and still nothing works. There has been an IOS update since i started taking videos however this makes no diffeence as the handful of videos that do work are from both before and after the update so it can not be an issue with my phone and the videos i have taken in the last few days dont work... how i can fix this?

Dec 31, 2011I have a Pavilion dv6-6173cl laptop. It's been working fine until recently, when I left it on overnight to finish downloading a huge file. When I tried to adjust the brightness the next morning, I couldn't (though it was still at full brightness like I always keep it). So I thought, "why not reboot it?" I rebooted and now the display is the dimmest it can get with no way of adjusting the brightness using the brightness keys, control panel, or otherwise.
This has happened before. When it did, I did a factory reset on it and it fixed the problem. However, although there is no absolutely critical data on there and I can always make a backup, I prefer to not have to go through all that if it's avoidable. I have an external display that HP asked me to connect it to to see if it was a hardware or software issue. The external display was at full brightness, so when they asked me to ship it in I did a factory reset and that solved the problem. And now it's back.
