HP Envy M6 Display :: Laptop Showing 4 Displays
Jul 29, 2014It happens that my laptop sometimes start showing 4 displays and sometimes when rebooted several times. Starts working normally. Seems to me more of a drivers problem or else why would it start normally if this was a hardware problem. Also, when laptop was running, I kept shaking the laptop just to check if it was a hardware problem like the lcd's cable might be loose which fitted in the motherboard but it was not the case.
Laptop is: HP Envy 6.+Laptop is not under warranty.

HP DV6 6121tx Display :: Bluestacks Displays Error With Graphics Card While Installing
Jul 2, 2014My laptop is a DV6 6121tx with product number QB367PA#ACJ.
While installing bluestacks, it displayed an error stating not able to recognise the graphics card in the system.
Any safe update for the same if available.

HP Display :: Pavilion 17 - Display Turning Off Too Soon?

I went to the Control Panel > Systems and Security > Power Options - Choose when to turn off display, for Battery and Plugged in I set to 20 minutes. As long as I'm active with the keyboard or mouse I'm fine but if I'm just reading or studying something on the screen, without any activity, the display will shut down in a minutes time, which is very irritating. Is there something else I need to do to keep my display on for a longer period of time?

Apr 21, 2008I'm encountering having just purchased my laptop. None are dealbreakers and I'm not that put off by them but the fact that I'm not able to figure out a solution bothers me. Primarily, no matter what power setting I'm on or settings I change the display will turn off after 1 minute. Ther other power settings still come into play when they should (computer sleeps etc.) but I'm not able to delay the screen turning off.

May 28, 2014I have an HP dv7-6c95dx laptop and the display is out of whack. Black is shown as blue and there are even red dots where some other color should be. LCD screen is a replacement screen and I have already switched out the lcd cable that connects to the lcd screen. When picture is displayed on an alternate screen, the picture is 100% fine. I was thinking the lcd inverter may be busted but I couldn't find a replacement inverter anywhere online for this model.

May 27, 2014I was initially trying to get my DVD to play blu rays. I downloaded a different player and uninstalled the HP mediasmart dvd. This didn't work so I deleted the new player and went into restore system to an earlier time and did so. After I restarted my computer it began randomly turning off and by that I mean the screen. It goes black. I click enter or left clidk the mouse (this seems to prompt it) then after 5 seconds or so the lights on the right side start blinking and the display returns. This has happened before and I forget the solution. Also, my battery died about a month ago so I removed it.

Dell :: How To Do 3 Displays With The E6400?
Aug 12, 2009Up until this week I was doing this with my Dell D620 using the PD01X D/Dock which has a PCI slot for a video card.
Well, it's PC refresh time at work and I received a Dell E6400. Turns out the docks for the E6400 and the D-series are different (not compatible) and there is no D/Dock for the E6400, so now I'm looking for a solution that will allow me to do 3 displays with the E6400.
I purchased StarTech's USB2DVIE external USB to DVI video card, but it's only got 16MB of RAM and whenever I scroll or move windows around in the display that is being driven by the USB2DVIE, it's a little choppy, even at 16-bit color.
There are other external USB video cards on the market, but this was one of the most expensive, and I can find no indication on any of the other cards of how much RAM they have. I'm thinking I need at least 64MB, which is what the PCI card had that I was using in the D/Dock with the D620.

Also their tech support is to dumb to get the info from anywhere else except their own page. (they provided a link to the 1555 model to get the resolution from there... duh).

Dell :: External Displays Stopped Working
Mar 3, 2010I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 with an Nvidia 8600gt. I have a dell 2409 24 inch 1920 x 1080 monitor and a Samsung 22inch 1680x1050 LCD TV. I use one or the other depending what room I'm in. Both are connected using VGA cables.
These have always worked perfectly, today when I tried plugging into either one they are detected as 'generic non pnp monitor' and I get a choice of standard resolutions up to 1600 x 1200. These always used to run at their native resolutions and were detected as Samsung and Dell.
I have reinstalled the display drivers, power cycled everything, gpu seems to be running fine according to gpu-z.
I have reverted to a working backup but that made no difference. Im using windows 7 64bit.

May 27, 2010Been looking for some pictures comparing the different display panels HP offers with the Envy 15, but I haven't found much.
So I'll just ask those who own it; is there a quality difference in the 720P and 1080P display panels?
For gaming, lower native resolution would be optimal (performance/quality), but if the low-res panels are crap I'd get a full HD display, turn the resolution down and suffer some downscaling side-effects rather than playing with a crap native resolution..

I get "USB Key not detected" message on all the USB ports that I have tried. I have changed the cord also but of no avail. But when connect my 4GB USB pen drive, I do get success. Why do my "My Passport" connections are not recognized?

Jan 29, 2012I plugged my HDMI cable into the computer today with the intention of duplicating the display on to my TV. When I do this the TV screen shows like I selected extend. I can extend the monitor and use the projector only setting, but duplicating does not work. I changed the Intel Graphics Options and the NVIDIA Control panel neither have worked. I have updated the bios, the NVIDIA and the Integrated drivers. I have even changed the resolution on both my computer and the TV with no fix.
What's the weirdest thing about this problem is that I have used this exact HDMI cable to this exact TV before and I didn't need to change a single setting and it worked great. I also took an ASUS laptop and plugged it in and used the FN + screen key, just like I would usually do with my Dell and the ASUS worked great.
I read a post on here that said when they update their BIOS it fixed this problem, although the post had other people that were not that lucky.

Acer Aspire 5750G :: Can't Get Laptop To Do 2 Displays At Once
Sep 15, 2014I'm having an issue extending my display via an external monitor (Samsung 23inch). I’m using a 5750G with GT 540M and Intel HD 3000 that uses Nvidia Optimus technology. It's the i7 2360QM version. So it's a second gen HD 3000 I believe.
I can't seem to run 2 displays at once.. like if I connect an external monitor via the VGA or the HDMI.. I can use that monitor on it's own (while the laptop screen is disabled) just fine.. but the moment I try to duplicate displays or extend my desktop across two monitors.. the intel driver crashes...
The Intel driver keeps crashing and recovering every 2 seconds until the whole PC blue screens. (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE - igdkmd64.sys) This is when windows is trying to run both monitors at once. If I quickly press Win+P and set it to a single display, it’s fine.
I can output to the external monitor (show desktop only on 2), via both VGA and HDMI and the laptop screen is off. This works fine, even at 1080p.
I can also output to the laptop screen only (show desktop only on 1), and the external monitor is off.
If I choose "duplicate", only the laptop screen works... But it drops down to a low res (1024x768)... However, in the Multiple Displays setting dropdown... “Duplicate” is no longer selected... and it’s now set to “Show desktop only on 1”. If I try change to duplicate again… both monitors go blank.
If I try to extend these displays, the laptop screen stays on... the external monitor goes blank, and the laptop screen immediately starts to flick off and on... as the driver crashes and restarts. I see the little dialog box in the notification area saying “The display driver has stopped responding and has recovered.” While specifying the Intel driver.
So here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Windows 8.1 fully updated, with the latest Intel Drivers and NVidia Drivers.
Windows 7 x64 SP1 with latest Intel and NVidia drivers... as well as the old drivers that are listed on the Acer site. Each time I completely uninstalled and deleted the old drivers before installing new ones.
I’ve tried these Intel drivers:
8.15.10.2342 (Acer site)
8.15.10.2622 - 15.22.54.64.2622
9.17.10.3347 - 15.28.20.64.3347
9.17.10.3517 - 15.28.22.64.3517 (latest)
I updated the BIOS (1.21). I also went into the BIOS and changed the GPU setting from ‘Switchable” to “Integrated” which basically disabled the GT 540m, so windows doesn't even load the nvidia control panel etc.. Even with just the Intel graphics enabled... same issue.
I’ve tried adjusting power management settings to ensure that power is always at max.
I know it’s not an issue with the external monitor or cables, as they all work fine when the laptop screen is not running... Also, I tested with a Samsung LCD TV with the same issue. The monitor and cables work fine with my PC and other Laptop.
So for some reason, the Intel driver does not want to let 2 screens display at once. And the way the Optimus technology works, I don’t think I can bypass the Intel GPU and use the NVidia one alone.
I tested Win 8.1 with all latest drivers.. and win 7 with a few combinations.. like both the older intel driver + old nvida driver (the ones listed on the Acer site for this laptop).. then I tried new nvidia + a few old intel drivers one at a time.. but the issue remains..
Acer :: Desktop Objects Size Changes When I Switch Between Displays
Apr 1, 2010I have this Aspire 6920G with a beautiful 1080p screen.
My only concern is that when I switch between different displays, the size of the desktop objects and icons changes (see caputres below). And that occurs even when I connect my laptop to a 1080p LCD screen, with which the resolution does not change (I checked in the nVidia control panel).
After I disconnect/switch back to the original screen, the icons size is still not right and I need to reboot my computer to get them to their original aspect.
Any solution for this not to change everytime I connect an external monitor?
I don't know if it comes from Acer or Windows 7...
