Tip: Using The New Automatic Import Folder In iTunes 9
10:26 am, September 10th, 2009, Giles Turnbull
iTunes 9 has neat little new feature: it will automatically import any music or videos you throw into a specific folder.
That folder is called “Automatically Add to iTunes”, and after installing iTunes 9 you’ll find it tucked away inside your “~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/” folder.
Anything you drag into it will be imported into iTunes immediately – and it’s worth noting that the original file (the one you put into the Automatic folder) promptly disappears afterwards. It doesn’t get trashed, but moved to the appropriate place inside the iTunes Music folder.
It flickers when i click something or open a folder. It also goes crazy when i put on a video. Â Things i've done:Â Â Updated drivers. ''Hold power button'' method. Â Clues i have: Â 1. I remember back when i just got the laptop, it would always flicker in the exact same way when a charger was plugged in that was too weak (power out let too low message) and changing the charger always fixed it. Â Now i still have the same charger (i have 3 hp and 1 dell chargers at home that fit my laptop) and none of them seems to be ''enough'' (60w x2 65w x1 and 120w x1). Â Â 2. Another funny thing is that when i uninstalled my Ati Radeon HD5850 drivers completely, there was no flickering, but obviously, i need to have that as i use this laptop strictly for games)Â Â 3. The screen refresh rate is 60hz and not possible to change,. Â 4. There is NO flickering on an external screen (tried two tvs, both didn't clicker a bit) Â 5. You might say it's a hardware problem, but i actually somehow got it to work without the flickering earlier tonight and stayed up all night playing and it didn't cause me any issues. It was working great. Â 6. Occasionally the PC will freeze (could that be a battery problem? since i currently am not using one as both mine are broken and i'm waiting for a new one to ship) Â 7. I have had 2 blue screens of death recently. One while installing ATI drivers and other i don't remember.
I have a pavilion dv7-6b50ei notebook pc bought 2012. It always gives a command prompt pop up which doesn't stay long enough to read. I also felt there's a virus on it which my anti-virus couldn't solve so I tried factory resetting but when I restart and press F11 it gives an error(something like a boot.. is missing). so I tried my recovery discs. Disc 1 of 4 ran fine but disc 2 keeps stopping with an error.
Now the laptop doesn't load as I think the OS has been formatted during the recovery and don't know what to do. I feel disc 2 is bad too because it also gave an error while trying to copy it to a USB pen drive. I have also tried an external dvd and run the hp test on the hard drive; the hard drive passed the test. If I can get a new set of recovery discs, it would solve my problem.
I just purchased a refurbished HP Pavilion. I cannot figure out how to turn off the auto brightness, which is an extremely irritating feature, which to me seems to have no purpose. I have turned it off under advanced power settings, nothing. I have looked in General PC settings but nothing(Windows 8.1) I have done all I can find to do.
I was bought a Studio 17 by my Dad [which i love apart from a couple of fault -going to be fixed though ] but he also bought me the Targus Laptop Courier bag for £20.00.
I dont want or need this though, but he didn't realise that of course, an now i want to send it back for a refund without having to pay delivery & restocking?
if that's applicable. I did email my contact in dell who put the order through, before the 2 parcels were sent out but she didn't get back to me [still hasn't ]
but I am understanding that I can send back the bag no questions and have a full refund as long as it's before 7 days? that is in 2 days time.
I think I know the answer to this but I just wanted to confirm. I'm installing Windows7 RC on my Dell Studio, and during the part where you choose the installation location I'm seeing 3 partitions.
The 139GB main one, the Recovery partition, and one called 'OEM' that's 39MB. I left it alone and formatted then installed on the main 139GB partition but I'm wondering about the 39MB one
I'm looking for a new screen - I saw an out fit on ebay that lists the dell inspiron 1300, 1525 and 1505 screen as one and the same.
So I start to hunt and I land here, which links to here which linked me to here: That outfit's
page lists them all with identical specs and there's like 30!: so my question is, aside form those that are matte vs the glossy are they all the exact same physical dimensions and definitely interchangeable?
I noticed the display automatically adjust its brightness when I open different webpages with different color background, which I'd rather it not do. How to disable this dynamic adjustment? Â Product Name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC Â Product Number: A5F92AV Â OS: Windows 7 home premium 64 bit
Which route should I take for my new SXPS 16 - Clean install Vista from scratch along with all the drivers and programs I want or just uninstall the stuff that I don't want?
Once again, my Lenovo Thinkpad 430 (running under Windows 7) is persistently selecting whatever the pointer is sitting over. This happens periodically, and it drives me crazy. I've been able to cure this in the past, but today I've been unable to do so. The "Activate a window by hovering over it with a mouse" feature in Windows is NOT selected. Windows is set to require a double-click to open a window. At various times in the past I've disabled the "tapping" feature in the Lenovo touchpad (the touchpad is the only pointer device I use), but today I can't even find those settings to make sure that they are still disabled. What am I forgetting to do?
So as soon as I got my brand new Y50-70, and before doing anything on this laptop (not even installing new software), I went tried OneKey Recovery only to discover that it is broken.  I then tried my luck with Windows Recovery (the one provided with every Windows 8.1 copy, not unique to Lenovo):  I first went through system image creation on a recovery drive (1TB WD Elements USB HDD):  1. Find it on Control Panel: 2: Select it (Recovery option): 3. Create a recovery drive: 4. Selected the F: drive (1TB, it's not a *flash* drive just an ordinary USB hdd, does it matter?): 5. Got a nice warning (indeed, this process reformatted the drive, to 32GB only, why 32GB and not the full 1TB?)  Now... let's see if I can restore from this newly created system image:  1. Rebooted from the newly created Recovery Drive (it actually boots!): 2. Selected "Use a device", then received this menu: 3. I selected EFI USB Device. It then went to an intermediate Lenovo boot splash: 4. And shortly after that (without me doing anything) a new prompt, to choose a language: 5. I selected English and then, got prompted for keyboard layout: 6. The system then system to restart again from the Recovery Drive, only to prompt me again with the "Choose an Option" screen (as in step #1). So, I selected "Troubleshoot" this time: 7. I then selected "Advanced options", and received this screen: 8. I then selected System Image Recoery and received this screen: 9. I selected the only option available (Windows 8.1), then got this "Cannot find system image": 10. Why??? I clicked cancel and I was prompted to select an image: 11. So I clicked Next, but got nothing to select: 12. Clicking the Advanced button only provides irrelevant options:
I've recently started to have a problem with my HP Pavilion ZE4900 notebook. For some reason, it can't get a charge.
When the AC adapter is plugged in, an indicator light will light up to confirm that the laptop is charging. But whenever I plug the AC in, the light doesn't come on anymore. Sometimes the light will come on, only to go back off a second later. I've ruled out the AC adapter by using another one and I've ruled out the battery by taking it out and trying to power it off the AC alone. With both, I still have the same problem, which leads me to believe that it could be an internal problem.
I have Pavilion G6 notebook. Some times when I charging, it says plugin and not charging. how can i  solve this ?And I replaced laptop motherboard 3 days ago. I want to know if battery has issue, it will affect to damage to motherboard or  not ? And HP battery check shows this. I tried solutions that show in window but not happen.
not sure if this is the correct board, but here goes. i have a Pavilion g6 note book that has had changes made to the system such as replacment of the anti virus from Norton to another along with a malware and some other spyware .the windows media player was replaced with another media player of unknown origin. all went well for a day untill yesterday when nothing would load up on the screen apart from what looks like a screen saver from the choice you get when first setting up, but this is as far as i can get it to work as far as getting too far into the system goes. i have managed to get to what appears to be a diognostic page . apon performing a hard disk scan it comes up with this message. " failure id: 94le1s-5s071f-mfpv4k-619k03", what does this mean?, and is it able to be fixed?.Â
Ok, I havent had sound on my HP for 8 months. I have done all the troubleshooting I can and I really need to have sound on this PC. I have been working on this all week. Do I need to do a factory restore?? Model XY980UA#ABA, HP Pavilion DV6 Notebook.Â
I've got ap HP Pavilion dv6 - 3000so. When I try to start it. There comes a blue warning and it sayes: Enter Administrator Password or Power on Password! Â I try different passwords form the machine, but the new tekst is Invalid Password! After 3 wrong passwords a new tekst comes up: System Disabled and Key: 50118153!
I just migrated from W7 to OS X and love it so far but was wondering if there was a way to have the folders show thumbnails instead of just the plain blue folder. Maybe I'm just spoiled because later versions of Windows had that. [url]
I have been having a problem with my laptop, I think it may be a virus but it is not being caught by the McAfee virus scan. So there are two issues: The first is whenever I try to download and install a program or update it tells me a part was not downloaded, forcing me to stop the installing process. The other problem is when I open my "Downloads" folder is message appears "COM Surrogate has stopped working" and when I close it it pops up again and does that about 6 times.
A friend of mine has this model ( zd8180ea) and is having a peculiar problem. When he edits documents or surfs the web his keyboard fails to type some letters. He writes a word and some letters do not show up. Often space fails to work and words, attempts of words, are linked together. I am not a big HP expert but I think there is a faulty keyboard connection. I could be wrong and a software solution is available. Can anyone give me a hand?
I have a HP Pavillion g6 laptop and my screen brightness keeps fluctuating to round off fron 100% to 60-80% at an interval of 10-15 seconds which is very distorting.
I've been having problems with my battery and so downloaded and installed the latest version of the Hardware Diagnostics Tool (sp63599). I then followed the HP instructions for checking the battery (turn off computer; power on and the ESC to enter System Diagnostics. My notebook shuts down almost immediately! Â So I figured I'd uninstall this new Tool, but it wasn't listed in Programs in control Panel, nor in All Programs. I did find the new partition it created and deleted those files but the partition remains and I don't it too. Â Tech Info: HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC; B5A04UA#ABA; Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
