I have an HP Pavillion g6 and the sound is not working at all. I tried troubleshooting the audio playback and then it started working. Then i realized only the system sounds started working.
When i play a video or any audio on my browser (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer) it does not work, but when i play a video/audio downloaded onto the pc, it works. Why is that?
I checked all my browser settings aswell and nothing is wrong.
I have had several dvds made from old videos. I am trying to play them on my pavillion g6. I get no video or audio.

It even mentions the SONY-TV in the output settings (audio and video) but there is nothing on my tv, just a blank screen ....
I have tried re-installing drivers, getting frustrated ....
I have been experiencing several audio issues with my laptop. Firstly, my laptop stopped playing audio unless I disable then enabling the IDT HD audio CODEC. I then tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it only to find that the drivers i found weren't compatible. Then I tried the recovery manager and when I restart the notebook it encountered a problem and I lost audio and my Beats enhancement.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an Aspire 5517 running Windows 7. When on battery power, the computer will not go to sleep if it is playing any audio or video file through the speakers. Pause the stream and the computer will sleep as normal on power saver options, but if I leave it playing on battery power computer will not sleep or hibernate. When battery reaches critical level computer will not shut down and I have to restart windows later. This seems like a problem with a driver.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAlso, this solution doesn't work:"All u need to do, is right click Communication headphones, and click Disable.right click Sound button on taskbar> playback devices now you have speakers and headphones selected as default device, and communication headphones seleted as default communication device."The communication headphones have been disabled, but the speakers still play alongside the headphones.
I think part of the problem is that the playback device is "Speakers and headphones", but I can't split this into two separate devices for the life of me. if I disable "Speakers and Headphones" and enable "Communication headphones", the problem fixes itself and then introduces new problems: certain programs requiring sound output do not work, and the volume-changing buttons on my keyboard don't change the volume.
I have IDT High-Definition Audio CODEC (as a driver?).I can't remember what I did before this happened. I suspect it was the audio driver update, but that's a wild guess.
When friends send videos I cannot always watch them as the screen turns green. The sound continues to play but there are no visuals.

Normally my screen went back to normal after closing the game(Rollercoaster Tycoon 3), but this time it somehow got stuck or something. I checked the resolution: it's 1024x768 like it always was, so that's not the problem. When I "print screen", the image is just normal on other computers, so I think it may be the driver? Do I have to download NVIDIA Driver? I tried that, but it says the driver is not compatible with my hardware.

Consulted with a technician, who tells that it is possibly a IC got corrupted (maybe of the vga or graphic). Is it repairable without replacing motherboard. If so then, where do I find the IC. When I switch the laptop on, I can hear the fan, the wifi and caps lights come on but the display remains blank. This happened about two weeks ago so I did a hard reset and that worked. When my laptop, which is a pavilion g6-1112sa model that I've only had for two tears went into sleep mode yesterday I tried to awaken it but the screen just remained blank. I've tried a hard reset again today but it doesn't work at all.

The problem is that while watching online video(youtube) through the web browsers, first of all the video playing smoothly, but after a few seconds, the video stops a while, and then continue play but the video is freeze while the audio works fine, then it completely stops. Running Win 8.1(all drivers and software current as of upgrade to 8.1) 64 bit. Only other indicator of something wrong besides the blank screen is that the caps button light is flashing.
I'm more of a desktop user but my husband gave me this laptop on January 2007. Since then, I think I only used it for less than 20 hours (we don't have a wireless)... when we got out of town.
The last time I used it, about a year ago, it turned off by itself. I tried to use it again when I got home but the screen is just blank whenever I turn it on. What could be the problem? I don't think it's a good idea to send it for repair to HP as the warranty expired already.
when I turn it on, all the blue lights turn on... but the screen won't therefore I can't use it. Ealier, I hooked up an external monitor but didn't work. Could it be an LCD problem?
The notebook doesn't have any scratch or whatsoever. It still looks like new, yet not working.

Screen looks like it has a very dark sun glass over it. If you shine a flash light on it you can see what is there. VGA connection to another monitor works okay.
Updated BIOS to latest. No change.
Updated Graphic driver. No change.
I have an HP Pavilion g4-2149se Notebook running Windows 7.For the past 2 weeks almost, whenever I start my computer, before getting the Windows welcome screen, I get a lingering blank screen with a cursor. Then, it'll finally get to the welcome screen, but before it loads my desktop, I'll get another lingering blank screen with a cursor. Honestly, I'm grateful that my computer is still starting up at all... But is there any way to fix the lingering blank screens? It's making me nervous.I've looked around the web for a solution for days, and anything I could find I've tried, but nothing has worked. I uninstalled all recent Windows updates, hoping one of them had went wrong, but no luck I scanned for virus' and malware and found nothing. I've only downloaded one program since I noticed the problem began (4K Video Downloader), though the program doesn't seem to be a problem.

It will not display anything other than a set pattern of rotating block colors -it goes from red to blue to green to a shadow sort of grey with vertical lines, each lasting about ten seconds, than repeating over and over. You can hear the computer starting up, and you can get it to the start page by knowing when to press enter and when to scan your fingerprint; this is as far as I can get without seeing. I've had the problem for about two months; the unfortunate thing is after about a week, I decided to hook up a external monitor to it, and got a full picture, with everything but the screen display working great. Unfortunately, in excited haste, I decided it had to be a graphics driver issue, which would just mean an update or a completely new set of drivers. Great. But I accidentally deleted the drivers I had before I uploaded new ones, and the external screen I was using went blank.

It did an automatic test on my hard drive to fix files, but when I restarted, it still would keep doing this test. I've tried to use a Windows Vista Upgrade/Recovery, but there is no backup and it keeps giving me an error on all types of restoration. I have just tried the Hard Disk Self Test and it says that there is an error #1 - 04 Fail. From what I've read in the forums, I will likely have to replace the hard drive, but how to recover the files from the old drive and what kind of drive I need to replace.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've bought this laptop brand new from the shop, it came with freedos and i installed windows 7 64bit and service pack two as well then i installed VLC Player, SM Player, & Daum Pot Player just to use on my day to day video watching. Well everything works perfectly fine except that when i play the video for a while, it started to slow down, it works nicely otherwise. It starts somewhere around 30 minute and beyond. I tried with all players, and this happens with BlueRay Rips i have which is HD video. Whats happening people? is this computer not powerful enough to play some HD Movie?. If it so then i am really in big trouble because the main reason for me to buy this was to watch movies and browse web. I watch movies plugged to AC all the time and Balance power profile. I also watch them in standard Settings of the player. The machine has 2GB Ram and Celeron N2810 Processor. Is this a problem with windows 7?

I've had my travelmate 5720 for about 4 months, and for as long as I have had it, it crashes when I play any kind of video. Not straight away, it may be after 2 minutes or after an hour. But if I'm playing a movie, its almost guaranteed to crash to a blue screen, and the system reboots. Its too random to try recreate the problem instantly, other than just playing a movie and...waiting.
