HP Pavilion Dv7 OS/Software :: InsydeFlash Random Popup On Computer

HP Pavilion, think it's a dV7 or some similar name
Windows 7 64-Bit
I was away to eat for around half an hour, and I came back to a popup with the title containing 'InsydeFlash'. It seems as though it's a BIOS flashing utility, which I've heard is never good, unless it's official from Windows. I don't remember installing it, and I don't know if it's an official Windows utility. It claims to want to update the BIOS. I cancelled it safely, and it seems to be gone (I ran tasklist on the command line, but found nothing out of the ordinary). My question is, if it appears again, do I run it, or is it probably an attack?

I have a macbook pro running 10.6, 4 gb ram, c2d @ 3.06 ghz and 320 gb hdd. I have a bootcamp partition running windows 7. My problem is that randomly during the day i will get the beachball for about 10 seconds and it freezes up my computer.

I own an inspiron 1545 which works properly for the most part, except for a small, but annoying problem. Sometimes, when I type, instead of characters or numbers appearing on the screen, the computer would perform random tasks like try to open a file when I press O (and I am not holding down the Ctrl key), save my work when I press S (again, no Ctrl key), and change my typing language. It used to run on Vista, and was recently upgraded to 7, but the problem persists.
For example, typing the word 'frustration' would sometimes lead to this:
frustrati (Open dialogue box appears)
It's especially annoying when it changes the typing language mid-sentence.

Would someone please verify that the utility used to flash the BIOS on my new Acer laptop looks like it does in the attached image? Because flashing a BIOS is a pretty serious thing to do with a purchase that costs $500+, I was surprised to see a picture of a CRT monitor wearing a wizard hat using a pencil to erase something. Also the use of non standard fonts is disturbing.
more importantly, are all ACER bios releases unsigned?

I'm trying to find out why my HP Pavilion dv1000 is randomly shutting down when I'm working on it...and when it does, sometimes I can't turn it back on without first popping the battery out and then putting it back in...
When it fails to re-start, I press the power button and all the little blue lights just flash for a second, and I hear this chirpy sound from inside the laptop...
So what I did was setup some logs with XP's Administrative Tools - Performance, to monitor the processor, memory, cache, etc, and then I will look at them to see what happens just before it shuts down.
I am no pro at this so this method is very experimental, I just started doing that this morning.
So does anyone know of this kind of problems? I read it might be a RAM problem,
it is not the battery, as it happens even with the battery out, just on AC power.
Does someone know of a diagnosing utility I might use, that would pinpoint just what happens before it shuts off?
The specs are
1.7 GHZ Pentium M, 1 GB RAM, Intel Graphics 900, windows XP SP 3

My computer is randomly freezing. What happens is I'm doing something I normally do like check Facebook or some other normal website and it just randomly freezes. I have no clue to what is causing this, and it never blue screens. What happens is:
All open windows are "minimized" (on the dock they show as open)My desktop goes black and has no items on itThe mouse goes to the center of the screenThe mouse and keyboard freeze upand above the battery icon there's random letters that always read "sRpIg"Here's a picture of it. My outer camera doesn't work on my phone so it looks weird.

I have a notebook hp pavillion 15 n042sl with Win 8.1 bought in may 2014.
My notebook randomly freeze in different situation without any cloue, running a game or also just in windows folders and only solution is reboot whole system. I have try to recovery to factory configuration but nothing have changed.
No virus r detected, sfc / scannow don't found any error.

First of all my laptop is : HP Pavilion dv6-6160se Entertainment Notebook
To the problem now : A few days ago my laptops screen started out of a sudden shutting down/turning black( no lights at all ). This was happening while using the laptop at random. The screen had no lights, and if i use a flashlight on it there is nothing. like its turned off completely.
Before this happens. This behavior varies. Sometimes it flickers from my desktop to a black screen then back on and some times not. Most of the times screen changed to a random color (green mostly) then becomes black/shuts down.
NOTE: The laptop keeps running, i can hear the videos playing so it probably isn't a gpu chip or gpu issue , music and games.
Here are everything i tried and all or the details i could accumulate in past couple of days:
1. If the screen flickers , blacks out and then turns back on i get a message that gpu drivers have stopped working and recovered ( on both amd and intel ).
2. If the screen blacks out, on rare ocasions if you close the laptop lid and let the laptop go to sleep , when waking up screen works again ( noticable due to screen moving)
3. I tried installing 4 different drivers all with clear install. ( didn't work)
4. I tried to to recover system with restore point. ( didn't work)
5. I tried to lower the screen brightness. ( didn't work)
6. tried this trick: Turn off laptop.. Remove battery.. Hold the power button for 30-45 seconds.. Plug-in the charger ( don't put the battery in )Turn on laptop and see if it works.
Very Noticable details:
7. Since on of the rare fixes requires to move the lid i tried shaking the screen a bit or pushing it slightly to different directions. This actually does the trick and turns the screen back on ( i am right now typing this after using this "trick"
So, with this one as a hint there are a couple of stuff i have in mind but i am not sure ...
a) There is a loose LCD cable and when i type a little vibration moves it and ends up in a black screen.
b) I read that if you use a flashlight and you cant see your desktop it means its a bad inverter.
c) Can the inverter have a lose cabe instead of the lcd ?
Currently the screen looks ok ( maybe its the certain angle it has after i moved it. Tried to play a game for a few mins and i got the black screen again. Closed the lid so the laptop goes in sleep mode then opened it and it worked. Just for the records.
Just tried to play a game again. got the blackscreen, shaked the screen a bit and it worked but for the 1st time i get the message " Application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware" , Can it be that its the GPU after all or maybe drivers?
Tried to play a game again and it seem to trigger the issue . ( i am currently running the laptop with only the intel drivers installed) ...

I received a brief pop-up notice that there was an important BIOS upgrade for my Inspiron 7720 and then when I went out to the Dell Support Link there is a one paragraph stating that there is a critical new BIOS update. I had hope to read more about the update and what it required but there was nothing. So I clicked on the link, this launched a download of a file - 7720A13.exe and nothing else.
How am I to distinguish this file from a SPAMMER sending me a file?

With my Lenovo X1 Carbon preinstalled image I noticed strange behaviour of my right click popups from the desktop and some dropdowns from menus. They are aligned to the left, not the right.
I.e. I rightclick on the dektop, my cursor is is on the top right corner, not the top left corner.
I find this very annoying as every app that doesn't use the windows setting does it th other way around. Also, subitems open to the left. Is there a way to return this to normal. I can't seem find the "switch".

I have had my Pavilion dv8 for a few months now. A month or two after I received it, I began experiencing problems with the slider treble/bass control. It would sporadically pop up and start changing the treble or bass at random intervals. It also randomly disconnected me from my wireless connection. I thought this might just have something to do with the slider being dirty, but after several attempts of cleaning it, it still remains a problem. At first it was just a little annoying, fixed by clicking the mouse or pressing the top internet button, but now it's REALLY annoying, even popping up as I write this post. Is "slider thing" the right term?

I seem to have trouble with my on-screen keyboard when using the Dell Inspiron in tablet mode. Supposedly the on-screen keyboard will pop-up whenever I activate a text-insert area (such as search, or firefox, or IE, or etc) but there is no response.
In addition, I should be able to toggle it on/off through "settings" by swiping right but the keyboard icon is not available in settings when I swipe right. I *can* turn it on by going through..
Settings --> Ease of access --> Keyboard on
Though technically it shouldn't require those extra steps and I don't know why it isn't popping up on it's own. Also unsure why I can't find the icon in settings.
This laptop is brand new so I didn't change anything on it yet....

I'm trying to burn a CD from my Pavilion G6 notebook and when I try in iTunes I get the error message "Disk burner or software not found". I then tried in Windows Media Player, because sometimes iTunes updates do more bad than good and I recently updated iTunes. In Windows Media Player I get this message..."Connect a burner and restart the player". I've never had a problem burning music from my comp to a CD before and often do to use in my car. Why my computer suddenly stopped allowing me to make CDs.

Over the past year I have had my laptop computer, a Pavilion g7 Windows 8, and it has been fine for about 5 months, but after that it started to overheat at times and give me the link [URL] ...... After that it has become more frequent and it shuts off 2-5 times a day. Depending on how long it has been used.

When the battery is very low like say 10%, no warning comes up saying that the battery is running low, instead my laptop chips out and it doesnt hibernate or sleep so whatever i do that isn't saved is lost so these days when the battery is low i plug it in and i can continue working. my laptop is a hp pavillion g6 2237nr and it got a pretty bad fall about a year ago but it was working fine up to now.Ialso want to know, if i do have to replace my hardrive will my intel core i3 processor go with it?

I've got a Pavilion g6 2215so.The computer sometimes hangs at startup and the only way to go around it is to unplug the battery and start it up without it.
I thought that maybe there are some newer BIOS drivers or firmware that would solve this.
But I cannot find the drivers for this model at all at the support site.I've tried to have the system identified as well but it doesn't come up with anything really.

I had an HP Pavilion dv6, but some part inside relating to the power failed. Ultimately, the constant cutting of power caused my hard drive to fail. I was able to use HP Recovery Manager to back up my files (music, documents, pictures, etc.). For Christmas, I was gifted a new computer, but it is not an HP. I tried to restore my backup file to my computer but it says that HP Recovery failed. I'm guessing the issue is because the new computer is Lenovo Thinkpad and doesn't have the HP Recovery software. How can I restore my files to my new computer?

I was initially trying to get my DVD to play blu rays. I downloaded a different player and uninstalled the HP mediasmart dvd. This didn't work so I deleted the new player and went into restore system to an earlier time and did so. After I restarted my computer it began randomly turning off and by that I mean the screen. It goes black. I click enter or left clidk the mouse (this seems to prompt it) then after 5 seconds or so the lights on the right side start blinking and the display returns. This has happened before and I forget the solution. Also, my battery died about a month ago so I removed it.

I am having trouble restoring my computer to factory settings. Just to preface this, everytime i restart my HP Pavillion dv6 laptop, it freezes on the HP logo on the boot up. This freezing only occurs when i restart, if i manually shut it down and turn it on the boot up progresses normally.
So i have tried to restore my computer to factory settings by using the recover manager and the recovery manager requires the laptop to be restarted. However, the laptop freezes on the restart so i have to shut down the laptop manually and turn it back on. This interferes with the recovery manager and i get an error that recovery manager was not properly able to restore my computer.
I have also tried to press F10 on the boot up to enter restore mode. However, when i hit f10 my screen goes completely black. The fan and the laptop are running but the screen goes blank. How i can restore my laptop.

I have an HP Pavilion dv5 that cam,e with Win 7 Home Premium. I have upraded the OS to Win 7 Ulitimate.
I now am going to sell the dv5 and want to install the Win 7 Ultimate Upgrade on a different computer. Do I have to deactivate the Win 7 Ultimate upgrade license, or can I just restore the dv5 to factory condition using the Recovery Drive .
And then just install the Win 7 Ultimate Upgrade on another computer?

I cant open my hp pavilion dv6. I've set a password but I don't know why it doesn't work.. I've tried to click f11 and system recovery it shows restore your computer to the out of the box and choose between backup files first or recover without backing up your files before it proceed..what will i do..? After i uninstalled Android Studio last night, I was prompted to restart my laptop to apply changes. I clicked yes, after the reboot however I no longer had my full screen display(1280x800) and there is a black bar to the right side of the screen.
I have tried updating/uninstall/reinstalling my graphics driver(Intel Hd Graphics 3000) and the bar is still there. No option to scaling,(set at Maintain Display Scaling)
I tried taking a picture to display the black bar on m monitor using print screen but the black bar does not show when I paste into paint.
OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit

I have a hp pavilion dv5-1170ei and it had problems with the audio and the quick launch buttons after upgrading to Win 7. I decided to update the bios because that was the only thing that i had not updated. Now the computer is frozen with the BIOS update still running. I once had the same problem with a dv5-1199ei and it worked fine after upgrading the BIOS. By the way i upgraded from Vista Home premium to Win 7 Ultimate.
