The laptop is much darker than any other laptop i've ever had. I have a Yoga 2 and a Macbook Retina 13 that are both much brighter. Its very hard to see ....

Mar 24, 2014I have an HP Pavilion dvt7 laptop. I'd like to connect this to a 30" HQHD Display Port, HDMI, DVI-D, PC Monitor with a maximum resolution of 2560x1600 (via Display Port or DVI-D). Is this possible and if so, through what ports and/or adapters to get the 2560x1600 resolution? The machine does have an express card slot. Can I use an expresscard to USB 3.0 adpater, then use a usb 3.0 to displayport adapter and connect to the monitor's displayport?

Recently my PC crashed and when it was reinstalled with all drivers from HP FTP i am having below problems.
When i am adjusting my brightness , it is getting adjusted but the adjusting bar usually shown in the screen is missing.

HP Display :: Pavilion G7 Screen Went Black While In Use?
Jun 23, 2014I was using my HP Pavilion g7 the other day, while gaming and the screen went black for no appairent reason. i haven't down loaded anything recently and i run virus software.
We went to the HP support web site and went through several diagnotics. When the laptop is rebooted the screen on the laptop will flash images of my desk top but once the machine boots up the screen remains blank. you can see the glow from around the edges but that is it. I have another monitor plugged in currently and the system is functioning propertly except for this. We have also done the following, hard reset,Test for memory modual problems, test the hard drive. I was also trying to update the video drivers but the system tells me the drivers are working properly.
HP Display :: Pavilion Dv6 - Screen Won't Turn On
Dec 4, 2014I have an hp pavilion dv6. It was purchased at the end of 2010. My computer teens to get hot a little quicker than normal. It had overheated a couple times, but not recently.I recently went on a road trip and when I got back my computer screen won't turn on. While I was away, I took the bottom plastic screen off and put it back on (one of the sides had come loose and a tab was sticking out). I also tightened all the screws on the main cover on the bottom because some had come loose.When I got home and tried to turn my laptop on, the screen wouldn't turn on. I can hear the fan turn on. The light indicating the wifi was on, but showing that it was off- and it was on when I last used my computer. Also, the capslock light is blinking. I don't hear any sound from the speakers or anything like that. I tried hooking it up to a projector but never got a signal. I tried unplugging it and removing the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds but nothing changed when I tried turning it back on.

Nov 22, 2014I've checked my control panel settings and then the advanced settings (for notification icons--which doesn't apply to this problem).
What ever I set, I'm working at my computer and screen always goes to sleep 1 minute after if I don't touch the keyboard.
What am I not getting. I need at least 5 minutes or so before it should go to sleep. My computer at the office only goes to sleep after I make it.
HP Display :: Black Screen On Pavilion Dv7 Notebook
Apr 26, 2012I have had my Hp dv7 notebook for a few months now and have had no problems. But all of a sudden, I turn on the computer and see nothng but a blank, black screen. I do not know if I changed the display settings or what, but I cannot see anything. I know the computer is functioning because the fan turns on and the keyboard lights work. When I connected my laptop to an external monitor, I was able to see that my computer was on and fully functional. In fact, I am using it right now on an external monitor to type this message.

Jan 19, 2015my laptop screen backlight goes off, when I rest my hand on the left side of the touchpad. The darkening of the screen can be also reproduced when a small pressure is applied on the case just above the ethernet port or above the headphones port.
When the screen goes dark, I can see that everything is running normal, if I shine on it with a lamp or strong light. The resulting effect seems to be the same as if I would have lowered the brightness to minimum.
When I don't press the area described above, the screen is just fine. I am sure this problem is not software or OS related. I googled it a lot and my guess is lose connection on the inverter?
One last thing - idk if related - sometimes, when I boot up the laptop, the backlight is turned off and I have to adjust it by pressing F3.
HP Pavilion X2 Display :: Laptop Screen Will Not Transmit Onto TV
Apr 24, 2014I recently purchased an HP Pavillion X2 2in1 laptop and want to connect it to my TV. The laptop was recentluy upgraded to windows 8.1. When I connect using an HDMI cable, the TV recognises that the HDMI is connected, but the laptop screen will not transmit onto the tv screen. When I hit f4 to toggle the display, it says 'Your PC cannot project to another screen. Try reinstalling the driver or using another video card.'
When I go into control panel as recommended on other queries, the adjust resolution screen does not give me any other options than the Basic PnP display. It's like my laptop cannot detect my tv. It is not in my computer, devices or anything. I didn't attempt connecting it to my tv when it just had windows 8 on it ...

Aug 16, 2013Blank display, connected to tv via hdmi and to monitor via vga still blank. Tried with single ram in both slots alternatively still blank. Reconnected hdd still the same. Apr 20, 2014Turn on my g6 last night and it turned on but the screen does not the fan turns on and the lights are normal I tried taking the battery. Dec 31, 2011I have a Pavilion dv6-6173cl laptop. It's been working fine until recently, when I left it on overnight to finish downloading a huge file. When I tried to adjust the brightness the next morning, I couldn't (though it was still at full brightness like I always keep it). So I thought, "why not reboot it?" I rebooted and now the display is the dimmest it can get with no way of adjusting the brightness using the brightness keys, control panel, or otherwise.
This has happened before. When it did, I did a factory reset on it and it fixed the problem. However, although there is no absolutely critical data on there and I can always make a backup, I prefer to not have to go through all that if it's avoidable. I have an external display that HP asked me to connect it to to see if it was a hardware or software issue. The external display was at full brightness, so when they asked me to ship it in I did a factory reset and that solved the problem. And now it's back.

Aug 10, 2014I own the HP PAVILION 15-E009TU notebook. It is just 10 months old. I had some grey lines in the LCD screen few days ago and called hp for warranty replacement. a technician came and replaced the LCD screen with a new one.
However the new screen has a sort of Blue tint the entire screen. I have tried different colour setting which may fix it in windows but the blue tint is still there when windows is booting up and in the BIOS. I mean what? Did I just get a faulty/refurbished screen again? Also the screen doesn't look HD like my original screen. Is there anyway to verify that I got the exact model screen I originally had? and what about the blue tint? should i try warranty again?
