The 2 USB port on the left hand side of my HP pavilion g6 not working after i formatted my system, it does not detect any devices plugged in these two ports, the operating system before was window 7 home premium but now it having window 7 professional, what can i do?
View 4 RepliesI've been listening to a bunch of podcasts on my laptop lately and realized that the right hand side speaker is MUCH louder than my than the left speaker, in fact if I lower the balance on the right speaker to 0% and left to 100% it's not half as loud as the right at 100%. Is this normal? If not is there a fix for this?
Also when typing, if I press the Caps lock key too fast the cursor disappears and my typing is interrupted anyone know is up with that?

Today i have found that when plugging the mouse in one of the USB ports on the right side .. it does not work but the mouse gives light .
I tried it on the USB Ports on the left side .. it works well ...
The left side usb port appears to have fallen into the laptop case. It is rattling around, visible and does not appear to be connected to anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought an HP touchsmart pavilion N229tx last week and I noticed now that it started creating grinding noises every 3 seconds whenever my laptop is on and running. The noise is coming from near the vent where the air is supposed to come out.
Also when I bought the laptop and opened it the first time I keep having the fan error upon startup saying that it had found that a fan is not operational I think it is error 90B. this now happens everytime I turn on the laptop.
I just bought my 6920g, but when I press that e button in the top right hand side of the laptop, nothing happens!
Is there a driver or something for this? IS it meant to work straight out of the box?
The keyboard is sticking out from the right hand side...So I can literally lift it up from the lap top using my finger.
Also the lap top doesn't stay balanced sitting on a table. It rocks back forth as if one of eraser pads underneath is bigger than the other. But that's not the case after I examined it..
I've only had it for 5 months and today is the first day I noticed these things...It's never been dropped or anything with light use.
I have the extended warranty, I wonder if its covered.
The entertainment part on the laptop on the left hand side the touchpad has somewhat frozen so it is impossible to use, it has put itself ontohold somehow and now will not work, i have attempted restarting the laptop and shutting it down completly still the touch pad will not work.

Cannot get into System Recovery
Cannot get into Safe Mode
I do get into the Setup Utility but nothing there that fixes the problem.
I do get into System information, but again, nothing there to fix this start up problem.
Estimates at local shops to fix start at minimum $110 - obviously could be higher
However, Amazon selling HP Mini 110-1030NR for $110
Questions:
1. How I can recover to operate the HP MIni 110-3100 I have?
2. What are the differences in 110-3100 versus the 110-1030NR
3. If I decide to buy the -1030NR instead of having the -3100 repaired, what I am giving up and ALSO, what does the NR stand for?
This sticker (the one saying "regulatory information...." in 50 languages)
would NOT come off by trying to pick at the corners. It was leaving the sticky part on.
When I pulled at the "tab" built into the sticker, I got that off but it left the whole rectangle sticky part on the laptop. In other words, the whole printed part of the sticker came off leaving all the clear sticky material on the palm rest still.
I kept picking at the corners trying to grab them but no luck.
What finally worked was sliding my fingers while pushing on the surface of the palmrest, upward, into the bottom of the sticker. In other words, press your finger on the plastic of the laptop just below the sticky stuff left behind. Keep sliding your finger while pushing on the plastic INTO the bottom line of the sticky part. It will eventually start to roll up. Do this all along the bottom edge of the sticky part and eventually you can grab the "rolled up edge" and pull at it. It should then pull off in one piece. There will be little tiny sticky marks left on the plastic but they come right up when you place the sticky rectangle piece down onto it and pull fast up.
I've had my M1530 for about 5 months and in the last few days and have had a problem with the screen.
Twice in the last 3-4 days I have come home from work to find the left hand side of the screen substantially dimme(darker.
The screen was left on regular settings, no screen saver etc. Within 5 minutes of use the left hand side of the screen had returned to normal brightness..
I have a one year old sz680 CTO with a bluetooth vaio mouse VGP-BMS33. The strange thing is that the mouse only works well when I position it to the left of the vaio.
When I have it between me and the laptop, the mouse pointer moves in shocks, and on the right it doesn't work at all. (As a test, I also tried it behind the laptop and there it also in shocks).
I have tried to move the laptop to a different location, away from external power. I have turned of wlan & wwan. I have used different batteries, both common and rechargables.
After upgrade to 8.1 HDMI port didn't work. Followed instructions to correct BIOS and graphice driver; HDMI works - however Silverlight no longer working with DMS.
Get error 6036 in Silverlight which is Graphics device's driver certificate is invalid
Have checked graphics driver and is all up to date

Graphics driver version 10.18.10.3366
I have tried many settings on the computer, as well as cleaning out all my nvidia drivers and installing them back. There seems to be no solution. How do I fix this?
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe McAfee expired and each time it opens a new windows I get an error message and am asked to buy again. Started to freeze the screen and I'd have to shut down the unit and start again if I had more than 3 open windows.There was a system restore logo on the left side of the screen - so I thought maybe that would work - wrong thing to do!
Now it starts, and then the windows colored balls appear and turn into the logo - then nothing but blue gray screen. Tried doing F-8 system restore to factory settings, the last option, as recommended by MicroWarehouse where machine was purchased for Army son-in-law in 2011 - would not run completely. the instruction at 0x0411c2e3 referenced memory at 0x0db81030. The memory could not be written. went back to that F8 screen automatically so I tried it again - same message ar 0x44cc2r3 and back to the screen
since it said memory, I clicked on restore memory - which may have been wrong as it said I had videos, and I did not, and it said I had pictures, which I would only have had in e-mail. but I clicked to do it. Took several hours to run. and still screen is blue/gray. Now it won't even F8. Thinking my son-in-law may have disturbed something when he re-set it for me (took all their info off prior to military deployment - and when I tried to restore that may have conflicted with what he did. (We got him btter unit, I got old one)
I bought HP pavilion 15 - N259TX with windows 8. today after installinf windows 7 ultimate my USB 3.0 port stopped worki g. I even downloaded the driver from hp site.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my MBP for about 4 month now and have been having problems with its keyboard since I bought it. First, the "Z" key sank in (I think there was a problem with the spring). I took it to the Apple Store, and they "fixed" on the spot (it's much harder to press and only registered a key press 70% of the time). The lower right corner of the "E" has noticeably sunk in, and I need to resort to pressing the upper left corner. Also, the left side of the keyboard feels "mushy", not hugely so, but definitely noticeable after typing a few sentences. Can I request that Apple just replace the entire keyboard instead of just individual keys?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe MBP I bought in Aug '07 2.4 GHz model seems to be having some screen issues... in particular ... pixel issues on the far left side of my screen... I'm attaching a pdf shot of the areas in question that i took with my camera ... there are quite a few patches of pixels that are remaining a shade of white and are not responding to any colour change in desktop wallpaper/ movies/ anything...
I'm terribly dissappointed with this... i've taken pains to ensure that the MBP is always padded when i take it out (and i can count the number of times i've taken it outside home with fingers on one hand) .... so... i'm sure i haven't bumped it anywhere...
I have the apple protection plan...
any advice on what my options might be at this point? would apple look into screen replacement options? I'm in India and there aren't any official apple stores out here either:| (the closest thing out here to an apple store is a premium reseller) ...
on a totally separate note .. my battery seems to be performing excruciatingly badly as well.. health is at 84% after 64 cycles ... and that's after i've done the battery calibration tests ......
I have recently bought acer aspire 6920 with vista home premium (OEM) preinstalled 64bit version. I have made recovery dvd discs from erecovery option for factory defaults.
I have two questions:
1: will Acer provide recovery discs free of cost if requested.
2: Will I be able to install vista home premium 32bit version on D drive from a retail version I have, side by side with 64bit on C drive. Shall be thankful if someone can clarify with procedure for item 2 since I am not very familiar with notebooks working.
I bought Sony FW490 with full hd screen (1920x1080) but after hearing so much about wonderful RGB LED display on Dell, I got one from Dell outlet and now I can compare them both side by side and send one back. To my surprise Sony's screen is a tad brighter,
white color is white and red is very accurate too, on Dell screen is dimmer (on full brightness) red is more brownish and white is yellow-greenish.
I was reading this forum for a few months and almost everybody says that RGB screen is very bright, that one can use it on half brightness, but that is not the case with my SXPS16.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to troubleshoot a E1-531-4836 model laptop, the right handside from the 9 does not work. So Num Lock and number pad etc does not work. The touchpad does not work well either. I can plug a USB keyboard and mouse in and they seem to work for the most part. Sometimes I can not bring up the charms etc with the USB mouse. then I have to hit the space bar on the laptop keyboard,and I then can use the USB mouse to bring up charms. I tried updating drivers and restoring to original settings. Did not fix my problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter i uninstalled Android Studio last night, I was prompted to restart my laptop to apply changes. I clicked yes, after the reboot however I no longer had my full screen display(1280x800) and there is a black bar to the right side of the screen.
I have tried updating/uninstall/reinstalling my graphics driver(Intel Hd Graphics 3000) and the bar is still there. No option to scaling,(set at Maintain Display Scaling)
I tried taking a picture to display the black bar on m monitor using print screen but the black bar does not show when I paste into paint.
OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe left mouse button on my m1530 has taken a battering. It has gone all lop-sided, crunches every time I press it, and now doesn't work at all unless I press down on it very very hard with two fingers.
I work fast, so this is an incredibly frustrating thing to happen, as everything now takes ten times longer to do.
I have had this laptop for only a year and the other day when plugging in my power while the laptop was on, left keys on the keyboard stopped working. A friend suggested I take the battery out for a bit and then plug it in without the battery. So I did and the keyboard worked for a couple of days like that. Then one day it stopped working again.
To be exact these are the keys that are not working:
Esc, F1, F2, F3,
~, 1, 2, 3,
Tab, Q, W, E,
Caps Lock, A, S, D,
Shift, Z, X, C,
Ctrl, Fn, windows, Alt
Yesterday while I was working on a spreadsheet, the left button of my trackpad on my Dell XPS 15z just mysteriously stopped working. I assumed that maybe my system was slowing down, as I tend to multitask and often will have a LOT going on at once. So I restarted, since it had been about a three days since my system was restarted. Anyway, it did no good. Still, the left button wasn't working.
So, I then pressed it SUPER hard and it started working. Today, I noticed that it was messing up again. However now, depressing the key good and hard doesn't seem to magically fix the situation. Moreover, it doesn't work at all now instead of intermittent workability.
There wasn't any sort of update or anything... I'm really confused. Right button has no issues, but clearly I need both. Not sure what I should do.
I've been having problems with my battery and so downloaded and installed the latest version of the Hardware Diagnostics Tool (sp63599). I then followed the HP instructions for checking the battery (turn off computer; power on and the ESC to enter System Diagnostics. My notebook shuts down almost immediately!
So I figured I'd uninstall this new Tool, but it wasn't listed in Programs in control Panel, nor in All Programs. I did find the new partition it created and deleted those files but the partition remains and I don't it too.
Tech Info: HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC; B5A04UA#ABA; Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
did a system restore but the Drive F is still labeled HP Tools ...
