I have a Lenovo g505s laptop , and when I play games while charging(plugged in) , the frame rates for every game drop to 15-20 fps. Is there any driver update that I require?
Recently I've been having problems with the battery discharging while plugged in while playing some games (Civilization V and Sniper Elite V2 are the ones I've noticed the most). In the case of Civilization V, it also causes the game to lag to the point of being unplayable. The battery notification when scrolled over says "plugged in, not charging" and does so indefinitely until the computer shuts off from lack of power. It also decreases the battery life to just about an hour and fifteen minutes when discharging like this.
because it doesn't seem to happen with every single game I own. Sims 3, Saint's Row the Third, Skyrim, etc. do not suffer from this problem. I've already tried uninstalling the games with this problem and reinstalling them, but that doesn't seem to work.
I have that laptop for about 4 months, today for some reason i went playing Maxpayne 3 and while in game, few minutes later the PC starts to BEEP like alarm clock without stopping, I cant see any heating problems, the GPU's are on 67C no more.
The main problem is that i cant see any messages from WIndows about any issues on the system
I have just checked with FURMARK - when the GPU1 goes to 80C its starts beeping - is it supposed to be like that?
I bought a Lenovo Y510P 4 days ago. The laptop is amazing and i love it execpt for one proble,... while playing games i get a message about every 5 minutes saying that my ram is full and to exit out of the game
i have my virtual memory setting set to No page file for both of the things that i could change the setting to (there were only two different things in the virtual memory options which where Windows 8 and (lenovo)).
what should i set windows 8 and Lenovos virutal memory usage to? i thought i was suppost to select no page file but that has not worked.
i have 8gb of ram and while gaming 60 percent of it is being used so i know its not full
My computer (the Lenovo Y510P) started acting up the first day I bought it. It runs smoothly and everything, but the speakers seem to crackle and pop whenever I play music or games (even at a low volume). I've been seeing that many Lenovo Y510P users have been having this same issue and can assume that the problem is a hardware issue because:
1) Installing different versions of sound drivers AND even downloading the recommended sound drivers from Lenovo DOES NOT WORK. 2) Changing the power options DOES NOT WORK. 3) Plugged in headphones and even bluetooth can hear the static.
I'm thinking about returning this laptop since this is the 3rd day of having it. If there's no fix for this defect, I'm returning it before the 7th day.
I just bought Lenovo G510 Laptop with Intel HD 4600 and Radeon 8750M. Everything fine exept the fact it doesn't switches GPUs when I play games. I tried everything. I set it the max performence when pluged in to AC and I set it to use max performance when playing games. Nothing works, the games show that the Intel GPU is working and the Radeon not. I have the latest drivers from Lenovo, I searched over the internet, nothing works. I just cant get the 8750M to work.
My Lenovo G570. Yesterday, it was working perfectly, I properly shut is down. I have set a BIOS pasword. Today, when I switch it on, I was unable to type the pasword becasu some keys were not working. However, I managed to loged in with On Screen Keyboard. After analysing it, I came to know that some keys on numpad includeing 0,2 and on the 2nd line(vertical numerical keys) 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,0 are not working. I tried to re-install the OS but I set a BIOS password containing one of the missing keys.
My laptop has a keyboard where i have to use the FN key to use the function keys at the top, instead of having to press the FN key to use the action keys. ive been looking everywhere for a way to make it so i dont have to press the FN key to use my function keys, i looked at the bios but i dont see an option to disable the action keys, nor can i find an option anywhere elce in my laptop to set it like that, id even embrace an option to go into the registry to swap the on/off signal of the FN key.
I updated my Lenovo P500 touch lapyop to Windows 8.1. The hot keys do not function. I already updated my BIOS to V 1.21. I also had a problem with my screen brightness. I updated my driver for the display. What do I need to do to fix this?
The default behavior of F1 through F12 keys on the z500 are set to perform laptop functions like mute, turn sound or brightness up and down and so on.
Is there a way to reverse the way F1, F2.. F12 keys work, so they work like on any other regular keyboard.
I use the basic functionality of the F-keys all the time, when renaming files, searching and so on, and I would like to be able to use them without having to press "fn" every time.
I recently purchased an Ideapad P400, and I have noticed that the default for the keys where F1 and F2, etc. usually are, are now the mute and volume buttons. To access the F1, F2....F12 keys, you now have to press Fn + your desired F key.
While I understand many people probably find this useful, I play several games where these keys are essential, and it makes playing the games nearly impossible to play if you have to hold down the Fn key in addition to the desired F key. So my question is, is it possible to reverse the Function keys? I would much rather press Fn + F1 to mute than have to press press Fn + F1 to access F1.
I have a problem we need to fix because it shutdowns production. The Up and Left Navigation keys, and the Del Keys (Ent in German) do not work properly. We have press for about 5 long seconds to make them work. All stuffn Ease of Access,Keyboard is turned off and does not solve the solution.
Problem exists on IE, Word, Excel. Thinkpad Yoga S1 20C0S0AX0 T61, UZ2AQGE 2.5 Ghz, XP Pro SP3 T400s, NSF20UK, 2.4 GHz, SSD 128 GB, Vista B
I just got my Z50 2 days ago and I've noticed after typing a bit that some keys arent picked up if they are pressed in the corners. The key does down all the way but is not registered. It does not happen on every key, but 'F', 'T', 'H', 'V', 'B', 'M' and 'O' are really easy to reproduce for me.Is this a bad keyboard I received or just the normal quality of Lenovo?
The numbers 1-4 on my Y580 keyboard don't work anymore. I only realized this recently as I had been using a separate USB keyboard for some time. I've tried all sorts of things - uninstalling and uninstalling the keyboard drivers in Device Manager, reinstalling the BIOS, unchecking all the boxes under the accessbility options, scanned the computer for malware...but nothing seems to work.
I've also installed Windows 8.1 and replaced my HDD with an SSD...
I have just bought the G500 and I'm getting really annoyed by the keyboard. It has "great" multimedia keys as the main keys instead of usual F1-F12 keys. To access their functionality you must press Fn+appropriate key. The problem has been described here many times. But no solution works for G500.
I have tried: enter BIOS (no such option for keyboard)install Lenovo Slim USB Keyboard application (runs, but the option selected have no effect)install Lenovo Ultraslim Plus Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Driver application (do not run at all - just brings me to the desktop and do nothing). I'm not able to use the computer since I use a lot of application depending on the functional keys and if there is no solution I will have to buy another computer...
S440. I prefer to use the function keys F1-F12 without using the Fn key. It seems like in other models there is an option in the BIOS to change this, but not on my machine. Also the Lenovo software nor Windows configuration seems to be able to change this. Is there anyway to do this?
Few keys in my laptop G560 keyboard is not working. I have done system restore, uninstalled and reinstalled driver nothing worked. I fear that it is a hardware problem.
Few number keys and space bar is not working. Other keys are working fine.
I have a brand new IdeaPad S210 (model 20257) with a UK keyboard. Basically, the backslash ('') and hash ('#') keys don't work. I tried switching to US keyboard layout as a test, but they don't work there either. Everything else seems fine.
Is this fixable by updating the drivers or something? Or do I have to return the whole machine as faulty?...
I don't want to use the BIOS update method because I think it will make my computer not working anymore.
How do I press [F1], [F2], [F3], [F4], [F5], [F6], [F7], [F8], [F9], [F10], [F11] and [F12] without everytime pressing [Fn] to use these keys. So the original keys are: [Mute], [Vol-], [Vol+], [Close], [Refresh], [Touchpad], [Airplane] [Apps], [Screen], [Projector], [Bright-] and [Bright+], I want them to be: [F1], [F2], [F3], [F4], [F5], [F6], [F7], [F8], [F9], [F10], [F11] and [F12], and when you press [Fn] they be: [Mute], [Vol-], [Vol+], [Close], [Refresh], [Touchpad], [Airplane] [Apps], [Screen], [Projector], [Bright-] and [Bright+].
I just got the x120e and I already went through and fixed it auto-brightening itself. After I hit the Fn + Home and adjusted it to my preference. It was not on the charger when I did that and I was in a darker room so I had the brightness down lower. Later on in the day, I plugged it in to charge and I went to make it brighter. The brightness is not changing however. All the oher Fn + F keys are working. Just not the two for brightness. The weird thing is, I shut the computer, waited for it to enter sleep mode then opened it up again and it was really bright and I had to pretty much squint, but again the keys were not working to lower it. I closed it again and opened it and it is again dimmer. The keys still aren't working.
I recently downgraded my G710 from Windows 8 (which it came with), to Windows 7. The only issue I've noticed is that it does not display anything on screen when you use the function keys, such as the volume up or down, or bright ness up or down. The keys work, but it would be nice to see on screen that my volume is set at 2% vs say 100% when I'm turning it up or down.
I bought a Lenovo G580 laptop this march and now I have some problem with my keyboard. It is behaving strangley. Some keys are not responding and some keys are giving me two charecters. For example, when I press T, it writes R and 5 and the key I is not responding. I did system restore, last known good configuration, repair etc, but the problem is still there.
I have lenovo s540 . I installed own original version win 8.1. I have problem with some functional keys. Especially with F4- Microphone muteF8 - manage wireless connection F9 -settingsF10- win searchF11 - view programs that are openedF12 - view all the programs
I think thats I need driver but I dont know which .
I have had my lenovo Z510 for about 3 weeks now, and I am running into a problem where I cannot use my keyboard keys and use my touchpad at the same time, which makes it difficult to play games. I have gone into the settings and went to mouse and touchpad and selected always on, but that didnt seem to do much, maybe i need to increase the active area of my touchpad, but I dont think windows 8.1 comes with any such tools and I dont think Lenovo pre installed anything...
