I updated my Lenovo P500 touch lapyop to Windows 8.1. The hot keys do not function. I already updated my BIOS to V 1.21. I also had a problem with my screen brightness. I updated my driver for the display. What do I need to do to fix this?

The sound will stay on for 5-10 minutes when I start it up or put it to sleep and then wake it up. After that, the sound will just quit working? My Lenovo G570. Yesterday, it was working perfectly, I properly shut is down. I have set a BIOS pasword. Today, when I switch it on, I was unable to type the pasword becasu some keys were not working. However, I managed to loged in with On Screen Keyboard. After analysing it, I came to know that some keys on numpad includeing 0,2 and on the 2nd line(vertical numerical keys) 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,0 are not working. I tried to re-install the OS but I set a BIOS password containing one of the missing keys.

Ethernet works fine and we are able to get on the internet, but wireless does not work at all. I've been to Lenovo's site and downloaded the drivers from their support site, but nothing weems to work. Is there a special driver I'm missing?

What I did so far:
- instal all windows 8 updates - still not working,
- update to 8.1 and update - still not working.
Check my hardware in control panel - everything seems to be ok - but maybe I dont know where to look ?
Maybe same drivers are needed ?
The numbers 1-4 on my Y580 keyboard don't work anymore. I only realized this recently as I had been using a separate USB keyboard for some time. I've tried all sorts of things - uninstalling and uninstalling the keyboard drivers in Device Manager, reinstalling the BIOS, unchecking all the boxes under the accessbility options, scanned the computer for malware...but nothing seems to work.
I've also installed Windows 8.1 and replaced my HDD with an SSD...
For some reason, I cannot get the backlit keyboard to work on my new X1 Carbon Touch. It lights up upon powering up and then will not turn on no matter how many times I hit the space bar. I don't see an option to enable/disable anywhere either. Am I missing a driver?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I recently updated my u310 Touch to Windows 8.1. My audio isn't working anymore. I've checked the drivers, and updated all that come with the Windows 8.1 update.
My Device Manager says that my Conexant SmartAudio HD is updated, and so is my Intel (R) Display Audio. To make sure, I downloaded and installed the drivers from the Lenovo support site. When I try to play something on iTunes or on Windows Media Player, it just stops, and no sound is emmited. Youtube, or any other music player on the web, isn't working either.
My laptop's touch screen function stopped working just a while ago. When I shut down my laptop, tere's this windows update that lasted for more or less an hour. After that, the touch screen just stopped working. View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got this U530 and wanted to use a dual monitor setup with a monitor that only supports DVI inputs (Samsung SyncMaster BX2335). I bought a cable for the purpose: an HDMI to DVI-D cable. I cannot seem to get the laptop to recognize that there is a monitor attached, however.
Am I going to have to use a port replicator instead or use some sort of USB 3 to DVI setup? I have no other video output options built into this computer.
Few keys in my laptop G560 keyboard is not working. I have done system restore, uninstalled and reinstalled driver nothing worked. I fear that it is a hardware problem.
Few number keys and space bar is not working. Other keys are working fine.
I have a brand new IdeaPad S210 (model 20257) with a UK keyboard. Basically, the backslash ('') and hash ('#') keys don't work. I tried switching to US keyboard layout as a test, but they don't work there either. Everything else seems fine.
Is this fixable by updating the drivers or something? Or do I have to return the whole machine as faulty?...
I just got the x120e and I already went through and fixed it auto-brightening itself. After I hit the Fn + Home and adjusted it to my preference. It was not on the charger when I did that and I was in a darker room so I had the brightness down lower. Later on in the day, I plugged it in to charge and I went to make it brighter. The brightness is not changing however. All the oher Fn + F keys are working. Just not the two for brightness. The weird thing is, I shut the computer, waited for it to enter sleep mode then opened it up again and it was really bright and I had to pretty much squint, but again the keys were not working to lower it. I closed it again and opened it and it is again dimmer. The keys still aren't working.

I have a brand new W540 with Windows 8.1 running. Some Fn-Keys are working, for example Fn+F2 for the volume. But I have some keys which are not working: Fn+F5 or Fn+F6 should change the LCD brightness.

Knocked half a glass of water over keyboard yesterday. Turned off & wiped away straightaway. The right ear piece works and the left does not. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to no avail.

I've had my IdeaPad Notebook P500 for over a year, and rarely had an issue with it. Today, I accidently touched the F11 key, which happens to be the "Brightness minus" key.
Immediately, the screen went very dim, to the point where it actually hurts my eyes to be typing this.
I can adjust the brightness sliders up and down on the screen, using both the F11/F12 keys and the slider box available from the "Brightness" selection under "Settings". Even though the sliders go up and down, the screen stays the same very dark level.
Windows 8 64-bit is my OS.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the Intel HD driver.
I have shut down the laptop and turned it back on while holding the F12 (Brightness plus) button. It was useless, though.
I have rebooted several times.
I have an ideapad p500, and for a while now the battery indicator in windows has said "60% available (plugged in, not charging)".
I have upgraded the battery firmware with the available download on this site, but its still not charging above 60%.
I have a Lenovo Ideapad p500 Touch. I recently upgraded my router to an AC1900 Router, and with it i wanted to update the internal wifi on the Lenovo. I purchased an Intel 7260 AC Dual Band with Bluetooth seen HERE . Install was pretty straight forward, seeing how im a IT Tech. Where I had an issue is with the drivers and getting bluetooth properly set up. The wifi part works without an issue. I can't seem to get bluetooth to work at all. When i go to device manager I see bluetooth but only if I select to view "hidden Devices". Im running Win 8.1 64x, Ive tried installing the drivers from intel, but it never seems to actually install the bluetooth driver. I don't get the icon in the system tray.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 3444-CUU that I really love. When I first got it I realised the wireless adapter would just randomly stop working. I updated every possible driver and I'm still having the same issues. All I can do is reset the adapter to get it kicking again. I'm not sure if the wifi care is soldered or if it could be removed or replaced but I'm really leaning towards it being a hardware issue.
It'll either stop working could turkey, won't detect any wireless networks or it'll stop working and I can still view other wireless networks but I cannot connect to them. Resetting the adapter is the only option. As I'm writing this right now the wireless has gone out again. So I have to reset the adapter for 5-10 more minutes of internet just so that I can post this.
