It was working fine a few minutes ago, i closed the laptop for a few moment, but when i came back the screen was black at first. so i did a hard shutdown cause i though the computer crashed or something. but when i turned it back on, it was suddenly white. if i tilt it a bit, it sometimes goes black. I don't know what to do, i used my friends monitor and it worked so it not the computer...
View 1 RepliesI've had my IdeaPad Notebook P500 for over a year, and rarely had an issue with it. Today, I accidently touched the F11 key, which happens to be the "Brightness minus" key.
Immediately, the screen went very dim, to the point where it actually hurts my eyes to be typing this.
I can adjust the brightness sliders up and down on the screen, using both the F11/F12 keys and the slider box available from the "Brightness" selection under "Settings". Even though the sliders go up and down, the screen stays the same very dark level.
Windows 8 64-bit is my OS.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the Intel HD driver.
I have shut down the laptop and turned it back on while holding the F12 (Brightness plus) button. It was useless, though.
I have rebooted several times.
Windows did an update today, and now my pc won't run on battery power. The battery icon is just empty and says plugged in and not charging. This is the first time I've encountered this problem. When I unplug it, it immediately dies.

Windows 8.1.I've had this message saying "display driver stopped responding and has recovered" while on startup on my notification area. It's been quite a some time I have seen this messsage during startups. And, my laptop seems more slow during startup. I've tried "sfc/scannow" but the system seems fine. I did Disk cleanup and optimization regularly. No third-party software installed.
My laptop heats up. Its working fine not too hot during Morning and Evening, but heats up high during day time. I'm not using laptop cooler now, but I've ordered one. My laptop is getting old.
I bought my S210 about 6 months ago. ever since ive bought it, an annoying flashing circle pops up now and then in the botton left corner...its causing the page to change if im reading something on kindle. it opens any tab that is under it...whilst im typing it will open any other program...it keeps causing the cursor to go in to the bottom left corner as well.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a lenovo p500 ideapad from bestbuy around 3 weeks ago. just on thursday, i press the f11 key to lower the brightness and it imidiatley went very dim. i cannot bring the brightness back up even tho the button and the computer says the brightness is all the way up. the screen is at the dimmest setting possible. i am running windows 8 and i have checked the drivers to see if they are updated and they are but i cannot bring the brightness back up. this is very frustrating.

- update to 8.1 and update - still not working.
Check my hardware in control panel - everything seems to be ok - but maybe I dont know where to look ?
Maybe same drivers are needed ?
I recently got my ideapad and I changed the HDD to an SSD right away. After changing it I cant find the drivers for the f7 key or the flight mode key,everything is functional except for that key...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just purchased the Ideapad S415 Touch. The wifi connection drops OFTEN. It still shows that it is connected, but there is no internet pages load, email stops working, etc. If I hit "disconnect" on the connection, then hit "connect" again, it works great . . . . for a few more minutes or an hour or whatever. I went into "properties" and changed the settings on roaming and power management per an article I found on this site. I think this may have worked a bit, but it's still happening.

I've not previously had an issue with this configuration, but since about a week ago, as soon as I plug in the device the touch screen becomes disabled. Removing the device doesn't restore touch screen functionality; I actually have to reboot.
Was there a recent USB upgrade that's causing this issue?
Before the end of 2013 I bought an Ideapad U530 Touch for school and it's been working fine up until a few days ago when the backlight for the left most CTRL key stopped working and shut off completely. Every other key on the board is fine, except for this one. Is there any easy to fix to this problem, or do I need to send the entire computer back?

I know it is the touch version and settings even calls it "lenovo y50-70 touch" but below that it reads "No pen or touch input available for this display" ...what?? there are also no drivers on lenovo's support page that say anything about touch.

I just got my new Z710 today, and if the screen tilts too far back (not excessively far, maybe a few degrees past 90), the screen will turn black. If I leave the screen in this position, the keyboard lights will turn off too. Once I tilt the screen forward and click or hit a key, I'm greeted by the lock screen, and have to enter my password again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got an ideapad y560 0646 with i7 and radeon 5730 without switchable graphics. After starting, the windows logo appears and afterwards just a black screen. No windows logon. Starting with standard vga drivers is possible. I am currently running windows 7 prof 64 bit. I remember that i installed windows 7 prof 32 bit in november 2011 and after installing the graphic drivers from lenovo homepage i faced the same issue.
So I continued using windows 7 64 bit. i think there was a windows update which caused the issues for windows 7 64 bit. I installed the latest drivers but this didnt work. i think this is no hardware issue because ubuntu is running fine. i would like to try the old drivers which came with the y560 on cd. unfortunately i cant find the cd.
Does some have the old driver cd and could upload the drivers or name the file of the driver so i can download it from the web?
I used my brightness down button once and now it won't go back up. I can't adjust the settings at all, despite the graphic on the screen showing me the meter going up and down. I've checked all drivers, tried uninstalling and reinstalling lenovo energy management, and I've still got nothing. I've stopped short of a factory reset because that's super annoying having set everything up and then a couple weeks after purchase have to do it again.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo Ideapad p500 Touch. I recently upgraded my router to an AC1900 Router, and with it i wanted to update the internal wifi on the Lenovo. I purchased an Intel 7260 AC Dual Band with Bluetooth seen HERE . Install was pretty straight forward, seeing how im a IT Tech. Where I had an issue is with the drivers and getting bluetooth properly set up. The wifi part works without an issue. I can't seem to get bluetooth to work at all. When i go to device manager I see bluetooth but only if I select to view "hidden Devices". Im running Win 8.1 64x, Ive tried installing the drivers from intel, but it never seems to actually install the bluetooth driver. I don't get the icon in the system tray.
