I just bought a Lenovo Ideapad S210 a couple of month ago. When I start using the touchscreen everything works for a couple of seconds and then randomly bubbles with about a half inch diameter start popping up, usually in a horizontal fashion across my screen. These bubbles that I am referering to are the visual effect when a finger touches the screen. So far these rogue bubbles seem to spawn whenever I start using the touchscreen, and keep me from controlling my cursor with my track pad, touch screen, or an external mouse once they appear. The only thing that works then is to shutdown the laptop, which is a big annoyance.
I have a brand new IdeaPad S210 (model 20257) with a UK keyboard. Basically, the backslash ('') and hash ('#') keys don't work. I tried switching to US keyboard layout as a test, but they don't work there either. Everything else seems fine.
Is this fixable by updating the drivers or something? Or do I have to return the whole machine as faulty?...
My ideapad S210 (with Window 8.1/64) can not recognize my usb connected memory stick or a portable DVD player. I have been trying for more than a day searching the web for a solution. All I got are all for window 7 fixes.
By mistake during resizing I deleted OEM partiton which stored One Key Recovery and want it back now. I googled a lot and read about setting partition id but since the partition is entirely deleted it doesnt even work after setting partiton id. I have s210 Touch and One kEy Recovery 8..
I bought my S210 about 6 months ago. ever since ive bought it, an annoying flashing circle pops up now and then in the botton left corner...its causing the page to change if im reading something on kindle. it opens any tab that is under it...whilst im typing it will open any other program...it keeps causing the cursor to go in to the bottom left corner as well.
Before the end of 2013 I bought an Ideapad U530 Touch for school and it's been working fine up until a few days ago when the backlight for the left most CTRL key stopped working and shut off completely. Every other key on the board is fine, except for this one. Is there any easy to fix to this problem, or do I need to send the entire computer back?
I use a USB MIDI keyboard (Akai LPK25) with my Ideapad. I've not previously had an issue with this configuration, but since about a week ago, as soon as I plug in the device the touch screen becomes disabled. Removing the device doesn't restore touch screen functionality; I actually have to reboot.
Was there a recent USB upgrade that's causing this issue?
It was working fine a few minutes ago, i closed the laptop for a few moment, but when i came back the screen was black at first. so i did a hard shutdown cause i though the computer crashed or something. but when i turned it back on, it was suddenly white. if i tilt it a bit, it sometimes goes black. I don't know what to do, i used my friends monitor and it worked so it not the computer...
I recently got my ideapad and I changed the HDD to an SSD right away. After changing it I cant find the drivers for the f7 key or the flight mode key, everything is functional except for that key...
I just purchased the Ideapad S415 Touch. The wifi connection drops OFTEN. It still shows that it is connected, but there is no internet pages load, email stops working, etc. If I hit "disconnect" on the connection, then hit "connect" again, it works great . . . . for a few more minutes or an hour or whatever. I went into "properties" and changed the settings on roaming and power management per an article I found on this site. I think this may have worked a bit, but it's still happening.
I have an Ideapad S510p touch Notebook that i bought just last year. But now since the past 1 or 2 weeks i have noticed that my laptop's battery is getting discharged really fast.
I am one of the lucky ones who just got the X1 Carbon Touch (after a 2 month wait).
Touch screen is VERY spotty. Will just stop working. All the time. Even in the middle of gestures.
I found that by going to the upper right corner touch will start working again, and then it'll stop moments later in the middle of an activity.
This is Windows 8, of course. I have used plenty of other Windows 8 devices so I'm not a novice. I have never seen this behavior. Is this a driver problem? A setting I don't know about (some special Lenovo thing?). I am hoping its not hardware. The fact that touching the upper right corner enables things for awhile seems to indicate its not hardware but not certain.
The fan on my IdeaPad Y570 has suddenly stopped switching on. It does not spin regardless of temperature, and as a result, temperatures reach 90C+. The dedusting mode works fine, the fan spins up as expected for the cycle, and sounds normal. So the fan is not physically broken or clogged. I have also installed 3rd party software CPUID HWMonitor to check if the temperature sensors are functioning, and they all show temperatures at expected levels, and more than high enough to warrant the fan coming on.
I don't think I have installed any new software that might interfere with it. I have tried re-installing the Lenovo Energy Management software. I have also tried starting the laptop in safe mode, to no effect.
I've installed win7 64bit on my Ideapad S410p. The problem is 2 USB3.0 ports can't be used, only 1 USB2.0 that can be used. The driver was installed and nothing wrong. In order to use USB3.0, I need to plug in the device and then restart my laptop. I must do that every time plug to USB3.0.
I was using my laptop today and tried to connect to a wireless network. However, my network connections does not allow me to connect to it, and when I tried to troubleshoot the issue, it told me that I needed to plug in an ethernet cord. Looking under the control panel also showed that the option for wireless had disappeared.
I have a Ideapad Y560 laptop, I had some issue with the battery yesterday. It worked fine until I shutdown the laptop last night. The laptop just powered off when I unplugged the AC, with battery installed. And of course I cannot boot the laptop without AC now. I installed power manager, and it says no battery installed. The battery worked fine until yesterday. When I plugged AC in, the meter shows it is charging, but the power volume is not going up. Is it a battery failure?
I just got a my brand new laptop from Lenovo but only the integrated graphics card is running and to make matter worse it crashes from time to time. The laptop has windows 7 installed.
Here's what happened: Google sketch up test 1) install google sketch-up 2) run it for a while and then the screen goes white 3) error pops up stating that the integrated graphics has crashed 4) restarting sketchup is needed to continue
I tried the following to fix this: 1) reinstall the graphic card drivers from nvidia site 2) charge power management to max 3) set google sketch up to only use nvidia GPU (nvideo control panel)
Next I figured maybe it's sketchup with the problem so I downloaded a PC bench mark program - Maxon's Cinebench. this didn't work either 1) Does not see the nvidia card as an option to test 2) Setting it up to run only nvidia grpahics had no effect 3) I'm getting a crappy 17 frames per second - at least the ingrated graphics didn't crash this time..
I recently bought an IdeaPad Z570 and re-installed Windows 7 completely. I installed all the necessary drivers and software available on the Z570 drivers download page, including the Lenovo Energy Management Software.
The following software were not installed as I do not have any use for them:
Everything is working fine except the One Key Theatre button. When I press it, nothing happens. I did some research and found out that the key should be enabled by the Energy Management Software, but it is not the case.
There were also some posts regarding a stand-alone One Key Theatre driver, but I cannot find any such thing on the Z570 drivers download page. Just to confirm, I do not have any "unknown device" in the device manager and the version of the Energy Management Software I installed is the 6.0.1.6 from 2011-03-29.
It is not working, I try many times. When I click the onekey button, the onekey recovery window is transparent, after I click any button, then it dead. I didn't changing partition size and I didn't created a set of recovery DVD from the One Key Recovery. The onekey recovery not work.
I have had a problem with my IdeaPad U310 for quite a while now (about a year), the problem is the touchpad, it work all the time, but the features of the touchpad, such as two-finger-scrolling and features like that, stop working everytime I open a Microsoft Office program.
It works fine again when the computer has been restarted, but as soon as a Microsoft program has been opened the problem is there again.
I have tried to solve it as described under the topic: "IdeaPad U310, U410, U510 - Touchpad stops responding while using Microsoft Office", but the problem is the same.
As you see below the one with the icon of mic alone is the built-in microphone[the second one], I have the default drivers that are installed during installation of windows 8.1 pro 32bit.
My Lenovo U310 Ideapad Has been Having speaker problems,
The Headphones are working fine but the Inbuilt speakers that are Awefully situated inbetween the hinge and the base of the Screen aren't working.
First i thought that this was a issue with the headphone jack assembly that might have cut off the internal speaker circuit due to improper removal of the headphone jack but thats not true because I noticed that Its an Issue with the angle I keep my Screen's tilt.
On moving the screen to any angle above 90 or 100 degrees the speakers get cut of and are activated once its below 80 degrees.
I have bought a S400 Touch laptop 2 months back. Now it is saying my Windows is about to expire and it is asking for an activation key. I Did not get any activation key. How can I get rid of this issue. And also my touch is not working properly. How can I get service regarding this.
I see a message that says 'No Pen or Touch Imput available but the Elan Pointing Device shows up in my task bar. I tried removing the HId components but it did not work
I just bought a Lenovo G500s touch and the touch-screen initially worked though I had rebooted a few times after the screen appeared to freeze. Now you cannot use the touch-screen at all...
