I've installed win7 64bit on my Ideapad S410p. The problem is 2 USB3.0 ports can't be used, only 1 USB2.0 that can be used. The driver was installed and nothing wrong. In order to use USB3.0, I need to plug in the device and then restart my laptop. I must do that every time plug to USB3.0.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I recieved my Y510p about 8 months ago, the usb ports worked perfectly fine. Around October they stopped working properly. The only solution which I found to work was doing a system restore. When I did this, an Unrecognized Device in the Device Manager was no longer unrecognized, and was instead replaced by USB xHCL (or something along those lines). However, as soon as i restared my computer again, the ports broke, and the unrecognized device reappeared. Repeating the restore followed by a restart breaks the ports every time.

But I can't get the 2 USB 3.0 ports working. If I plug in a keyboard I get no power to the keyboard.
I have 2 unknown devices in Device Manager. I have installed all drivers matching my system.

I've had this laptop for about a year or two and all of sudden my two left usb 3.0 ports stop working, although when I first turn on my laptop, the left side works for about a second and then stops working. My right usb port which is the 2.0 one works just fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried plugging several devices into a USB 3.0 port on my z510 this morning to no avail. The USB 2.0 port is working(I have a mouse plugged into it and it works fine) but the USB 3 ports will not work at all. I tried looking at device manager; it says everything is working properly. Power management doesn't turn any of the ports off.
It was working fine 2 days ago. Is it possible to turn the ports off? Because nothing is being recognized.
I looked for drivers on Lenovo's site; no USB drivers for windows 8.1 at ALL. What do I do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe fan on my IdeaPad Y570 has suddenly stopped switching on. It does not spin regardless of temperature, and as a result, temperatures reach 90C+. The dedusting mode works fine, the fan spins up as expected for the cycle, and sounds normal. So the fan is not physically broken or clogged. I have also installed 3rd party software CPUID HWMonitor to check if the temperature sensors are functioning, and they all show temperatures at expected levels, and more than high enough to warrant the fan coming on.
I don't think I have installed any new software that might interfere with it. I have tried re-installing the Lenovo Energy Management software. I have also tried starting the laptop in safe mode, to no effect.
I was using my laptop today and tried to connect to a wireless network. However, my network connections does not allow me to connect to it, and when I tried to troubleshoot the issue, it told me that I needed to plug in an ethernet cord. Looking under the control panel also showed that the option for wireless had disappeared.

The laptop just powered off when I unplugged the AC, with battery installed. And of course I cannot boot the laptop without AC now. I installed power manager, and it says no battery installed. The battery worked fine until yesterday. When I plugged AC in, the meter shows it is charging, but the power volume is not going up. Is it a battery failure?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got a my brand new laptop from Lenovo but only the integrated graphics card is running and to make matter worse it crashes from time to time. The laptop has windows 7 installed.
Here's what happened:
Google sketch up test
1) install google sketch-up
2) run it for a while and then the screen goes white
3) error pops up stating that the integrated graphics has crashed
4) restarting sketchup is needed to continue
I tried the following to fix this:
1) reinstall the graphic card drivers from nvidia site
2) charge power management to max
3) set google sketch up to only use nvidia GPU (nvideo control panel)
Next I figured maybe it's sketchup with the problem so I downloaded a PC bench mark program - Maxon's Cinebench. this didn't work either
1) Does not see the nvidia card as an option to test
2) Setting it up to run only nvidia grpahics had no effect
3) I'm getting a crappy 17 frames per second - at least the ingrated graphics didn't crash this time..
I recently bought an IdeaPad Z570 and re-installed Windows 7 completely. I installed all the necessary drivers and software available on the Z570 drivers download page, including the Lenovo Energy Management Software.
The following software were not installed as I do not have any use for them:
Intel Matrix Storage Mgmt, Bluetooth, OneKey Recovery, McAfee, SRS Premium Sound
Everything is working fine except the One Key Theatre button. When I press it, nothing happens. I did some research and found out that the key should be enabled by the Energy Management Software, but it is not the case.
There were also some posts regarding a stand-alone One Key Theatre driver, but I cannot find any such thing on the Z570 drivers download page. Just to confirm, I do not have any "unknown device" in the device manager and the version of the Energy Management Software I installed is the 6.0.1.6 from 2011-03-29.
It is not working, I try many times. When I click the onekey button, the onekey recovery window is transparent, after I click any button, then it dead. I didn't changing partition size and I didn't created a set of recovery DVD from the One Key Recovery. The onekey recovery not work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had a problem with my IdeaPad U310 for quite a while now (about a year), the problem is the touchpad, it work all the time, but the features of the touchpad, such as two-finger-scrolling and features like that, stop working everytime I open a Microsoft Office program.
It works fine again when the computer has been restarted, but as soon as a Microsoft program has been opened the problem is there again.
I have tried to solve it as described under the topic: "IdeaPad U310, U410, U510 - Touchpad stops responding while using Microsoft Office", but the problem is the same.
As you see below the one with the icon of mic alone is the built-in microphone[the second one], I have the default drivers that are installed during installation of windows 8.1 pro 32bit.

The Headphones are working fine but the Inbuilt speakers that are Awefully situated inbetween the hinge and the base of the Screen aren't working.
First i thought that this was a issue with the headphone jack assembly that might have cut off the internal speaker circuit due to improper removal of the headphone jack but thats not true because I noticed that Its an Issue with the angle I keep my Screen's tilt.
On moving the screen to any angle above 90 or 100 degrees the speakers get cut of and are activated once its below 80 degrees.

I've just bought brand new Ideapad s210 touch. But touchscreen is not working.
What I did so far:
- instal all windows 8 updates - still not working,
- update to 8.1 and update - still not working.
Check my hardware in control panel - everything seems to be ok - but maybe I dont know where to look ?
Maybe same drivers are needed ?
I have a brand new IdeaPad S210 (model 20257) with a UK keyboard. Basically, the backslash ('') and hash ('#') keys don't work. I tried switching to US keyboard layout as a test, but they don't work there either. Everything else seems fine.
Is this fixable by updating the drivers or something? Or do I have to return the whole machine as faulty?...
All of a sudden, my Lenovo Ideapad P500 (running Win 8) is having sound issues. The sound will stay on for 5-10 minutes when I start it up or put it to sleep and then wake it up. After that, the sound will just quit working? FYI, the Windows 8 updates that were part of the Microsoft monthly security fixes were installed last week and the problem started today?

Initially configuration was easy (through available connections)and i could use net at ease. Bue couple of days I happened to "Disable" two network which used to connect automatically the moment i used to turn my laptop ON.But after that, I never saw them in the available connection. Although i can see those network available on my phone, but on laptop i unable to detect them. I tried configuring them by using "wireless network connection properties" and i could even chnage their preference too. I tried disabling/enabling wireless network, but its not working at all.But at the same time I can see coupls of other wireless network which are in range, but i can not connect to any of those as they dont belong to my hotel.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a manufacturer refurbished Lenovo Thinkpad T410 2522EC8 a few days ago. My USB ports are simply not responding to anything. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. The only sign the USB ports show is when I plug in my mouse, the mouse lights up, but it doesn't actually work. Also, when I look under disk management, the only drives that show up are System Reserved, C: Drive, and D: Drive.
