Lenovo X Series ThinkPad :: Maximum RAM Capacity Of Older X31 2673?
Apr 18, 2014
What is the maximum ram capacity of a older X31 2673? I would like to take it to the highest possible; is 4Gb ram an option? I'm hoping this will speed up things, as it's slow at times.
How do I go about installing Bluetooth on my X31 2673? I plan on getting a Bluetooth speaker to sync with it. I don't have Bluetooth installed on the X31, I will need to upgrade. Are the Bluetooth parts difficult to find for an older X31 2673? Is it worth the cost? Or should I just buy a identical X31 with Bluetooth?
I have a ThinkPad x121e (from memory) which I like. However it has a maximum memory threshold of 8Gb.
I need more memory so that I can host some Virtual Machines to do some development work - I was just wondering which current ThinkPad models supported 16Gb of RAM (not necessarily out of the box, but by purchasing from Crucial or similar).
I've searched and found a page but it wasn't up to date: [URL] ....
i.e. it doesn't show the X1 Carbon or the Yoga (I know it's not thinkpad) models
Basically I'm after something similar to what I've got with improvements (a little bigger would be fine but not too big - say 14" max) - good battery life, can have windows 8.1, a touch screen and can get an SSD (again happy to upgrade via crucial or other third party) and can support 16Gb of RAM.
I get a Thinkpad X220 and I would like to change the harddrive. I was thinking about a SSD or SSHD with capacity of 500 Go. Have you got references SSD or SSHD to give me? Did I have any other things to do if I change it? Do you think that these models can be used? It's been about 5 months since I started to use my Thinkpad X230. Only three days ago it could work for 5-6 hours without charging. I could charge it at home, bring it to school and use it without charging. But suddenly the battery started to die in a short amount of time. Then I explored the battery settings a little bit. I found out it says "Battery Condition: poor" and "Your battery can 47% of its original full charge capacity."
It has warranty until 2015. So can Lenovo send me a new battery if I want so? Or is it a problem that warranty doesn't cover?
I have been told by sales that the W530 will NOT support SSD's larger than 256GB. I wonder if it is sales gimmick since the SSD uses the SATA3 interface that works with standard drives > 256GB. But before I go on a limb and buy a big SSD, I need to verify if I am wrong.
Using a 480GB or 512GB SSD drive in the W530 thinkpad?
In my Win 7 X220 and Win 8 Yoga11s, both had Lenovo programs (Power Manager and Lenovo Energy Management respectively) that allowed me to maximize battery health by setting a charging threshold. In the TPY, is there any Lenovo programs that does that too?
I bought a ThinkPad X240 recently. On Lenovo's website, it says the max speed is 3.30 GHz. However, in the Windows 8.1 Task Manager, it says the maximum speed is 2.69 GHz. See [URL] ....
Why there is a discrepancy? I also tried running Prime 95 for a little while and noticed that the "Speed" in Task Manager never went above 2.70 GHz. Did I somehow get a weird i7-4600U processor that has a max speed of only 2.7 GHz?
I have a Sony VGN-S260 laptop. I got it fixed and installed a Western Digital 250GB Scorpio Blue EIDE hard drive. I updated to the latest bios available and also installed WINXP SP3. The HDD is only detected as 137GB on the bios and 128GB roughly on windows. I heard that WINXP SP1 and above supported 48-bit LBA and I did not see an option to add partitions to utilize all space on my HDD. I also tried PM 8.0 and it did not see the extra space. I am in a bind and would like to use my space on the hard drive.
I have inspiron 5520 with 2 gb RAM. I would like to upgrade RAM as it is loads of time to do multitasking. I tried to search to RAM with service tag but it not get any results on dell hardware purchase website. which RAM should I install and what is the maximum capacity of RAM it supports.
I just purchased a Thinkpad Edge model E531. The shop transferred data from my previous laptop. I am getting an alert message that says I only have1.21G free of 13.67G on my primary drive. Is this a problem, and how can this be the case on a new machine...
My Aspire E15's brightness is locked at maximum capacity. I can't change it in power options or with the Fn key. It is the same whether connected to the AC adapter or not. While using the Fn key and pressing Fn+Left Key or Fn+Right Key, the on-screen brightness indicator alternates between two levels but the brightness of the screen doesn't change.
I have Lenovo-Y550 with P7450 CPU and 3GB DDR3. Now i want to install 64bit OS instead of shipped 32bit and to replace 1GB memory module with 4GB one. Does my notebook support such upgrade? SIW shows KIWB1 for mainboard model, 2 memory banks. North Bridge IntelGM45/GM47 Revision 07, south bridge 82801IM (ICH9-M) Revision 07.
what is the highest capacity HDD I could use in the Aspire 5610 Series please? At the moment, I have a 160gb SATA HDD but would like to upgrade to a higher capacity if at all possible?
i can't boot on an USB key, the secure boot is desabled and when i press enter to boot on the USB key nothing happen. I had tested with 3 different usb key and 2 different OS. And it work on other laptop i have a lenovo twist... i think its in the BIOS but i had check all options
I turn on my laptap and it start up normally. All are loaded up in the homescreen except the cursor which keeps on loading ( its like when you refresh). All keys are not working except to the CapsLock key, the touchpad and trackpoint ( color red) are working.
I remove the power source and battery to shut it down but it doesn't shut down! Now it is running for 5 minutes, and the screen still ON, continue to refresh. How to shut this down and restart.
What build in program in New X1 carbon is for optimizing (Maintainance) SSD? I believe the "defragment tool" provided in control panel is no use for optimizing the SSD?
I have checked the BIOS settings. Intel Hyper-Thread technology is checked as enabled. When I try to turn on Hyper-V Platform in Control Panel, I am told that Virtualization support is disabled in firmware. I see nothing else in the BIOS menu to turn on. What am I missing?
I have a 3 month old X1 Carbon. Last night i turned it off and suddenly today morning, I find that the device is not powering on. What's the deal? No response at all even after continuosly pressing the power button.
