View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to make the 4GB SD Card works? I tried the sd card on my other computer and has no problem. I searched the Internet, it seems that the vaio has a limitation up to 2GB only.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I insert an SD card or Sony Memory Stick in the memory card reader (VGP-MCA20) of my SZ, the computer doesn't recognize it. If I double click on the removable drive, it hangs the computer. I tried 16MB and 512MB SD Cards and 16MB Sony Memory Stick. All of them don't work. I tried them with my FW notebook and they work fine. So, it is not the media problem.
I tried to restore from Recovery DVD with Windows XP, install with Windows Vista and I still have the same problem.
I have a new Dell 10 Netbook and purchased a Sandisc 16 GB Card for netbooks. The card does not enter fully into the memory expansion slot. My computer does recognize it and opens, but the card sticks out of the computer. I thought the card should be invisible, my experience in using cards for other devices. Is this norma.? I don't want to force the card.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI need some help:
1) I want to know if anybody is using an SDHC card as a readyboost drive
2) What are the maximum SDHC specs that can be utilized by the computer (both size and class), i.e., what is the maximum size and speed supported by the reader.
If am thinking of buying this card for readyboost (I plan to have it always in the slot): ...
I have a brand new M4400, running W7pro x64. The M4400 came with an internal SD card reader. Now this card reader cannot read some standard SD cards (other work fine). Especially,
I have a Transcend SD 4GB 133x (http://www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com/i...ard-detail.jpg) that is problematic.
When I put the card in the reader, W7 tells me to format the card. This I do not want to do, of course. If I open Disk Management, it takes ages to open, and eventually shows the card as "Unallocated".
I bought a new 8935G and found that the card reader cannot read my 2GB H-Type xD card.
FDXGDFSGDFS
The camera I'm using it in does not show any problem.
GDFSGDFSG
I tried reinstalling reader driver.

I teste the reader with an old 16Mb xD card and this works.
FSGFSG
When I put the 2GB card in, Windows Vista says it has to be formatted; at this point the card is already unreadable in the camera and must be formatted againg there.
If I try to format on pc, the process stops at about 90% with an error.

Does anyone know if this can be read by the SD reader on my Sony FZ31S? Its about 8 months old
The Sony Vaio laptops are the only notebooks that you can use the Sony memory cards on?
By the memory cards, I mean like the Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo that is used on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable
when i play WMP videos the video gets all messed up. is this a problem with the graphics card?
i have a geforce 8400? or something like this. ive heard of booting problems but i have none...its just windows media player. PES 2009 and project64 run fine graphics wise
Does anyone know the speed of the SD card reader on Vaio TT? I am planning to run the Windows 7 from the HDD; and run Ubuntu from the flash card that I will be putting on that reader
View 10 Replies View RelatedFor those with the new Sony Vaio Z11, how does the Sony MS card and the SD memory cards fit in their respective slots? Once inserted, are they flush against the notebook body contour or do they stick out?
Also, is there a locking mechanism that holds the cards in place? Or are the cards just wedged in there
im searching a way, how to change the graphic card....
How to replace the 9300M GS with a 9600M GT or something that are faster.
There must be a way to speedup the graphic... and we can construct a better cooling design.
I think a faster graphic card, like the 9600M GT, is better for the laptop, because, they have more pixel pipelines and all that.
I think if you underclock the graphic card, it will be much cooler and you can play much better games... in better performance, and much cooler as with the 9300M GS.....
I read that Sony Vaio FW's ATI Radeon 4650 is underclocked. I'm wondering if this is only exclusive to FW's 4650 or all Sony dedicated graphic cards are underclocked?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been eyeing a Vaio Z-series (555 or the the 590 online-only in Canada) but I want to make absolutely sure that it contains a nVidia card (9300M GS 256MB).
When I go to the stores to look at the store model (Sony store & Best Buy), in Device Manager and Display setting, I only see the Intel Mobile graphics chips. No where on the system does it appear to say that it contains a nVidia card. I tried using the Stamina/Speed slider to see if there was a different (setting it to Speed), and the graphics card still says INTEL.
For all those who own a laptop from this series, what do you see?
Do *all* Vaio Z-series have a nVidia or only certain ones? Is it just a driver/software issue for the ones at the stores?
Does the (U.S) Vaio Z790 have a Sim card slot, for mobile broadband, i know the old models had one but does this model have one? Does it support HSPDA and/or 3G.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a Sony Vaio FE model. The screen, processor, ram, wifi, etc. all work well except the graphics card (geforce go 7600). I can get my computer working but only at a resolution of 640x480. If I go to display properties and increase the resolution, the screen shows a bunch of white lines all across for a second and then restarts.
Its very hard to use a pc at that resolution! Sometimes I can change it to 1280x800 if i get the computer hot enough (weird, i know) but then (i guess) as soon as it starts to cool down the screen goes blank (after some time it will go back to 640x480 in 8-bit colour mode and show a nvidia nv4 error) and then I usually hold the power button to turn it off cuz I don't want to wait for the nv4 error which takes 10-15 mins.
The standard graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce GT 330m, but the laptop's gaming performance could be higher with a 335m or even a 360m (for its premium price, I would like the ultimate machine if possible). How do these two other cards compare to the first in terms of size/motherboard compatibility/power drain? In other words, could I buy the Sony Vaio Z and successfully upgrade the graphics card aftermarket, and if I did so how would the new card(s) affect the laptop's battery life?
Are there any guides that would help me into the guts of the machine, and could I possibly proceed without voiding the warranty?
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21E, here are my specs:
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7250, 2.00GHz.
Memory: 4gb.
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 8400m GT GPU.
My query is about the dedicated video memory and the memory interface.
The official Nvidia website [url] lists the specs as being:
CUDA Cores: 16
Core Clock (MHz): 450
Shader Clock (MHz): 900
Memory Clock (MHz): 600
Maximum Memory: 512MB
Memory Interface: 128-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec): 19.2
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec): 3.6
However, my laptop (under the Nvidia Control Panel, Advanced display settings, System Information etc) lists the specs as being:.................
I just got my brand new Sony Vaio TZ
everything is great till now but i was checking to video card memory and its only showing 64MB ,, its should be 224 according to the specs "i know its 64MB dedicated memory"
i took a look to the BOIS and didn't find any option the increase the memory ,,, so what i have to do to take the full 224MB
I'm fairly sure that my graphics card has died, the startup screen has a green grid whenever I turn the laptop on, and it only runs in safe mode.
I'm aware that in terms of pricing this could either be quite modestly priced, or really horrific, depending on whether or not the card is part of the motherboard.
if it's seperate or not?
The Spec of the laptop is here
i found the setting for sound by going control panel > sound>realtek hd
audio>properties>advanced
Question is do my soundcard have 24bit/192khz audio decoding capabilities ?
or , it is just a dummy setting in vista
if it has , i will not go for external card, coz it will giv little improvements !
I'm getting a subscore of 2.3 with my nvidia card on windows7 experience index.
all the other components have an index of around 5.5.
This just doesn't sound right !
I'm using the driver supplied from sony.
also, I am feeling that everything is a bit slow (more then it should be)
anyone ?
when I turn on my Z, the screen glitches two or three times upon hitting the login screen. Does this happen for anyone else?
Sometimes, (it's happened once or twice) my graphics card even failed upon logging in and had to be reloaded, and even, on one occassion, completely shut down my computer (Straight to black, green light turned red) in the middle of casual browsing.
Are these causes for concern? Should I return my laptop?
I've tried updating the drivers and updating the registry but the CD-ROM drive is still acting weird. The software from the sony support site actually made the issue worse because now the computer doesn't even recognize the drive (did the registry update). I am willing to go into the registry and try to undo the changes however I need to know where to look (so I'm not searching blindly). Further, I'm not really a fan of going into the registry and making modifications there.
