Blue light comes on and off. Checked all cables. Took to Office Depot, who said the battery might have some block on it, and to contact acer directly. Are there local acer repair shops?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Acer V5-573, 6 months old.
Some days ago it did not start when pressing the start button. I removed the charger and tried again, still nothing. Then i removed the backside to get access to the battery. I removed the battery and tried connecting just the charger.
That causes the laptop to start for 2 seconds like normally, the fans start for like 1 second and then just shuts down and the start button wont work again. This happens every time I connect the charger and it's off battery.
Sometimes when I press the start button and works and starts like it should and then at a random time it shuts down once again. Mostly it just doesnt react to the start button.
I haven't replaced or modified the original hardware.
I got a acer aspire v5-571 and the wireless is not turning on.. it has windows 8 installed on it, when i try t turn on the wireless its grayed out.. it does not seem to have a physical switch to turn on and off the wireless.. when i use the fn+f3 keys it only turns of an on the airplane mode thing... i went to the site an installed the update of the bios,chipset and wireless with no joy.. what am i missing
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an aspire 3510 which when switched on goes straight into a loop of turning on for 2 seconds (the fan starts) then turning off and repeating this on/off cycle continuously. It never gets to diplay anything on screen. I have tried the disconnect all power and press the power button for 60 seconds, replaced the memory and stripped the laptop down re seating the cpu and cleaning the fan.

When its plugged into an external monitor it is ok but as soon as you unplugged it the laptop screen comes on for a few seconds then goes dark. Do you think it is a back light problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I close the lid on my Laptop let it sleep for a while I notice when I press enter to resume from that mains screen that it takes maybe 30secs just to load up, before it was always instant. Also my powercord is sort of lose so it goes in and out very fast then I notice that when my power cord comes out that my laptop also freezes for 30secs.
I scan my laptop everyday with AVG and Malwarebyts, I use CCleaner weekly and DeFraggler monthly, unless I download lots of files then I'll scan it and if it goes above 5-6% I do a full scan
I don't download much. The only games I have on here is WoW, RIFT, Path Of Exile, ArcheAge and 2 other small steam games. I don't use Itunes. On the buttom right corner where my clock is I only have up Raptr, AVG, CCleaner and that's it..
It's been doing this for maybe 2 weeks. I I use Windows 7. The only time I update my laptop is when I go to Control Panel and click "Windows Update" and see if there's any.
I have one Acer aspire 5740g. i had leave it on and when I came back (had spent over an hour) I found it off. Now when I try to start it nothing appears, the screen is still black and the computer seems to not process anything, but I hear the fan running. is it the BIOS problem or what it can be? browsing is the most common option I've found, also tried to do a power reset and nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought an Acer Aspire D255E with a cracked display. I tested it and it worked fine. Replaced the display with a brand new one, and the result is that it comes on, displays the opening screen, briefly flashes what looks like the screen you get when you shut down abnormally,then powers down. It will also power down in about the same time if I F2 into the BIOS.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having major problems with connecting to the wireless network in the office. It sees the network, allows me to enter the security credentials, then connects (with confimed internet connectivity) but drops out after 10-20 seconds. I have tried the wireless network at a friend's house which worked ok without any interruptions, so it is definitely nothing wrong with the hardware. I'm using a brand new Acer Aspire V3-572-56T3 on Windows 8.1, with all the latest drivers/patches loaded and have tried fiddling with many of the advanced settings for the network adapter to no avail. I logged on to the router to ensure all settings, encryption standards, channels etc. were matching but the problem keeps persisting. This has been ongoing for two days now and is driving me insane as I really need to have wi-fi working in the office. Plugging an ethernet cable straight into the router works fine but it's not the ideal solution (and is posing an OH&S hazard as it is laying on the floor).
FYI I have run diagnostics several times & the one thing that stood out was this:

I just got a 2nd gen envy 15 with an ati mobility hd 5830 gpu. I did a clean install of windows 7 x64, and now cant find any drivers online for the 5830. My graphics adapter is listed as the standard vga adapter.

I am thinking a bit later on this year of perhaps upgrading my Envy, as I would love to get USB3.0 and a bit more power on the gaming side would be great.
Not wanting to fork out the money for a brand new one, I thought I might possibly be able to upgrade just the motherboard to the current model (i7 version), which would include the USB3 and 5830 graphics... and would cost me quite a bit less (my current specs are in signature)
I just want to know if that would be possible? I assume that all the other parts are pretty much interchangeable, and from what I can see there were no significant changes to the chassis or anything else from Gen 1 to Gen 2....
Has anyone swapped the envy 15 5830 GPU with a 5870 ? is it even possible ?

all of a sudden my laptop is not turning on...
i see the power light and the HDD(constantly glowing not blinking as if in use)..and a blank screen...not even the POST screen is showing up
Acer ASPIRE 5520 Model ICW50. When I press the power button the light comes on and the fan spins but it shuts down every few seconds and repeats this action continuously. I have narrowed it down to a faulty motherboard. Has anyone been able to isolate the cause of this problem to a component or components on the motherboard?

How do I prevent the LAN from turning off when idle? I've looked everywhere, in DCP, device properties, and power schemes and settings.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIve downloaded and gamed and browsed all at the same time before...But for some reason today my wireless adapter keeps turning itself off...And no Im not accidentally hitting the switch..I'll even toggle the switch off and back on and it still says my wireless adapter is off..Its really strange..And when I troubleshoot it says network adapter is off, check switch..the switch is on..?This keeps happening..A reboot fixes it or if I disable the network adapter, and then re-enable it..
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy title pretty much explains it. I push the on button and nothing happens. I have done this both with it connected to the AC adapter and without it. No charging indicator light comes on.
no sign of any power whatsoever. Mybrother has the same computer i do, so i swapped batteries with him and nothin. no power no nothing. I also switched harddrives with him, just to see what would happen and nothing. still no boot up, no power.
One thing i di notice is that my power button is a little stiff, but that has always been the case since i got it.
I have a HP pavillion DV 6000 laptop. The wireless on my laptop is not turning on. It is not the same problem the network card disappearing. I can see the card in device manager. I have tried installing it and also enabling and disabling it. It says its enabled but disconnected. Tried safe mode with N/w as well but nothing is working for me. Haven't made any changes to the software.

then when it has done that it will start turning itself on and then off without me pressing the power button. i had to remove th battery to stop the laptop turning itself on and getting stuck in the cycle.
