Acer Aspire V5-573 :: Does Not Start Or Sometimes Starts For 2 Seconds
Mar 9, 2015I have a problem with my Acer V5-573, 6 months old.

Some days ago it did not start when pressing the start button. I removed the charger and tried again, still nothing. Then i removed the backside to get access to the battery. I removed the battery and tried connecting just the charger.

That causes the laptop to start for 2 seconds like normally, the fans start for like 1 second and then just shuts down and the start button wont work again. This happens every time I connect the charger and it's off battery.

Sometimes when I press the start button and works and starts like it should and then at a random time it shuts down once again. Mostly it just doesnt react to the start button.

I haven't replaced or modified the original hardware.

The battery on it flashes 3 out of 5 lights but not in order. The two end lights and the middle light comes in. They flash in unison 3 times before turning off. Anyway I plugged in 2 different chargers to the computer and the battery light on the pc flashes 3 or 4 orange and then 1 green. Then it resumes the light cycle just mentioned. The computer gives ZERO response to this whatsoever. If I unplug the ac adapter, the computer turns on for four seconds. No hdd noise, no fans, just a green power light ONLY. Not sure how to fix this or what it is, but nobody in the forums or on youtube or google seem to have solutions or even the same issue. I have tried reseating both ram, unplugging the wifi chip, dvd drive, doing the 20 second power drain without battery hooked up. All the same responses, just nothing....

Nov 11, 2014Ok, so, had my laptop for just shy of a year now. Everything has been working fine until yesterday whe I booted up, the screen rotated a solid green/blue/red for a few seconds then went black (backlight still on) and there it stayed, have re-booted a few times and each go, it goes straight to the black screen, I have plugged it into my TV via the HDMI which works fine can see everything and use as normal.

Oct 29, 2014Whenever I close the lid on my Laptop let it sleep for a while I notice when I press enter to resume from that mains screen that it takes maybe 30secs just to load up, before it was always instant. Also my powercord is sort of lose so it goes in and out very fast then I notice that when my power cord comes out that my laptop also freezes for 30secs.

I scan my laptop everyday with AVG and Malwarebyts, I use CCleaner weekly and DeFraggler monthly, unless I download lots of files then I'll scan it and if it goes above 5-6% I do a full scan

I don't download much. The only games I have on here is WoW, RIFT, Path Of Exile, ArcheAge and 2 other small steam games. I don't use Itunes. On the buttom right corner where my clock is I only have up Raptr, AVG, CCleaner and that's it..

It's been doing this for maybe 2 weeks. I I use Windows 7. The only time I update my laptop is when I go to Control Panel and click "Windows Update" and see if there's any.
Dell :: Studio 1737 Green Pixels Just Start Appearing All Over The Screen
Mar 23, 2009Hello i recently received a dell studio 1737 for Christmas and about every couple weeks the screen acts weird,
its like a bunch of green pixels just start appearing all over the screen and wont go away until i either close the laptop or restart. After I do that it will go away for a couple weeks and then it will happen again.
I've been trying to just ignore it and keep thinking it will go away but idk. Has anyone else had this problem and what could it be?

Feb 4, 2015I have a Dell Inspiron 15 (N5040) and currently having problems with it. I was watching something this morning and suddenly the screen turned green and then shut off. It turns on but the screen refuses to. I first expected that the screen is just unplugged inside the computer so I tried to hook it up to my TV via Hdmi and oddly it didn't do anything.I took it all apart disconnecting everything and then reconnecting everything. Everything seemed to be in good shape. No signs of shorts. Then after letting it run I noticed it beep 4 times. According to Dell 4 beeps mean "Read/Write error." I don't know if they meant the ram or hdd so I tried isolating both sticks of ram and no difference. I tried putting in two different hdds, nothing different. Even if they were I don't know why the screen wouldn't turn on and the bios wouldn't try to load. I suspect that the gpu is just fried. Dell Inspiron 15 (N5040), Intel i3, 8 gb of ram. Windows 7.Â

Oct 13, 2009I have an Acer Aspire 5634WLMi with 2 years. Got a problem on the monitor (15.4-inch LCD CrystalBite).
It slowly started a year ago (at that time still had warranty but underestimated the problem and now it expired). In all the black images(movies, photos) began to appear some green fluorescent dots that looks like they are living (in English I think is called flickering spots, jaggies?!) which then disappear and come back. I did not care at first because both appeared to disappear. Over time there have appeared more, followed by purple dots now. These purple dots are never in black image but sometimes they are the shadow of the black image. But in videos with very dark black only come green dots (always flickering). In all the other colors there is no problem, for example I am writing this in Word and the blue and white of this image is not green. It is however in my opinion a little blurry, I do not know. The letters are black (with a slight green Halo) but it seems that they aren’t standing still and shake a little. The most strange is that on the desktop there is a pattern of green dots on the bottom left and a purple on the upper corner that are often there but sometimes also move around. In fact there was not so long ago a time when I got a perfect image. I began to think that the laptop went to very warm, open a part, cleaned the fan and reduce the processor speed by changing the temperature of the device. After a while it disappeared. But this improvement lasted only 1 day. Then it began all over again. I have also tried to connect the computer to another monitor and had a perfect image, so it seems that it is not the graphics. On the Internet I found many of these reports that the cable that goes from the graphicscard to the monitor is damaged and that a simple substitution leads to full restoration of the notebook. Anyway before attempting to open the laptop (I've been watching some videos of how to do) like to have another opinion from someone who realizes this. I already took him ah repair but wanted 250 euro to replace the monitor with dead pixels (which I think is wrong they are not all dead, and until very squiggly and alternate location). For 250euros rather buy a new though economically not good for me. When the computer has a completely black image is all green. For example when the screensaver comes with the ball moving from one place to another.

Jan 21, 2015I'm having major problems with connecting to the wireless network in the office. It sees the network, allows me to enter the security credentials, then connects (with confimed internet connectivity) but drops out after 10-20 seconds. I have tried the wireless network at a friend's house which worked ok without any interruptions, so it is definitely nothing wrong with the hardware. I'm using a brand new Acer Aspire V3-572-56T3 on Windows 8.1, with all the latest drivers/patches loaded and have tried fiddling with many of the advanced settings for the network adapter to no avail. I logged on to the router to ensure all settings, encryption standards, channels etc. were matching but the problem keeps persisting. This has been ongoing for two days now and is driving me insane as I really need to have wi-fi working in the office. Plugging an ethernet cable straight into the router works fine but it's not the ideal solution (and is posing an OH&S hazard as it is laying on the floor).

Will not start but I can hear the fan start then stop after a couple of secs, also the power and hdd leds flash on for 4 secs and then off for 4 secs and keep looping.
But then if I press the on/off button to turn the machine off it will not turn off, even holding the button for 4 secs or more. The only way to turn it off is by disconnecting the battery.
Nothing is connected and nothing appears on the screen.
