I have a new Aspire V Nitro VN7 791, I have been using it for several days now. All at once this morning it would not let me log on, and told me to use my microsoft acc password. What happened, why did it do this.
View 2 RepliesI Just bought the Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black edition. I live on the 10 key pad and it's frustrating that it needs to be turned on everytime I log in. I've been on "chat" with tech support and they said it can't be done without calling for paid support. I've tried regedit but I must not be entering the right choice.

1) Disabling Adaptive Brightness
2) Turning the brightness settings to max
3) Trying the brightness settings in the Intel Graphics configurator
The laptop is much darker than any other laptop i've ever had. I have a Yoga 2 and a Macbook Retina 13 that are both much brighter. Its very hard to see ....
So I just bought (came in yesterday) a brand new aspire v 15 nitro and now it often freezes and crashes/shuts down at boot-up. I turn it on i get the acer boot up screen and then it stops and after a minute or so and shuts down.
I have done some things to it:
-partitioned the hdd (150/800 GB)
-updated windows
-checked for updates through acer care center (only one intel update)
-installed: steam, origin (EA), firefox, openoffice, winrar, viper (plagiarism scanner wich i used on my previous pc) and a couple of games
-uninstalled mcafee
I did not change any strange settings, like disabling apps from start-up except for steam.
Recently bought a Acer Aspire Nitro v15 with windows 8.1 with a qualcomm atheros ar5bwb222 wireless network card. The connection is really unstable and often disconnects and have very few bars. This is not from the router since the connection on my phone and other computers are fine. The connection (when i have it) is also really slow compared to when i use my phone on the same network. I tried updating the drivers but it says my latest drivers are installed. Could this be a Windows 8.1 problem? this is my first time owning a windows 8.1 computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I have purchased the Acer v15 Nitro Black Edition gaming notebook. Though I've noticed that not very intensive games are stressing my CPU to about 80-90C, which I am not entirely certain is the norm. This seems to happen primarily when the laptop is plugged in, as temps seem relatively stable when unplugged. I recently turned my CPU power down a bit (to 96%), and that has seemed to keep my temps relatively stable.
I guess my question is: Is this normal? I feel like those temps are way too high, and I fear of burning out my CPU. I am going to pickup a cooling pad today, and start using it when I play games. I am relatively certain my fans are working, but my CPU temps jump around quite a bit. I know gaming laptops are built to get hot, but the last thing I want is to burn my new toy.
I just recently picked up an Aspire V 17 Nitro and imediately installed Windows 7 on it. Everything is working pretty well so far but I noticed the function keys are not working. The ones where you hold down the "Fn" key and then do thing like adjust the volume.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've bought a new laptop 1 week ago, and it's running smooth with 1 exception: Everytime I shut the computer down or save energy, it magically forgets it has fans to cool cpu and graphics card. When i try to run a game it will gradually drop fps until it shuts down from overheating. I tried to fully discharge it and disconnect it from the battery to identify the hardware and then set it to standard in the bios, then it works. But the moment I shut down the computer it is the same thing over again. I don't want to do said process everytime I start my laptop..

I wonder if there has any solutions or I have to send it back. Also, I found that there has a tape written with "Opened" on the case... I wonder what is that mean... Moreover... why there has a paper lip stuck in the gap on the surface... But the biggest problem is how can I activate the backlit keyboard?

After confirming my computer has Microsoft 7 [32 bit] installed, after confirming that my computer shows this program updated as of today and that my computer shows Microsoft t as "activated" under Computer/Properties I am still asked for product key and then told I have incorrect #. I have also confirmed I have a microsoft product key and it is not a serial #, model # etc. It is clearly marked.
I have a Microsoft Windows 10 on a trial basis that works OK but not the 7.
what i did, was i downloaded the Windows 7 Beta Testing thing, and it completely overwrote my Windows XP, and now i have no operating system, i do have a reformat disk, but the acer aspire one has no cd/dvd drive!
i tryed going into the BIOS to try and see if i can boot from my flash drive, but guess what? the BIOS is asking me for a password, i never even set a password.
I recently had some trouble with my Acer Aspire 5920 notebook. A virus got through to it (luckily without any major damage).
I sent the notebook repairs and I already got it back and working...almost...completely as new.
I wanted to format the notebook and reinstall the necessary programs. This way I can get rid of all the stuff I don't need/want.
The problem is that eRecovery from the eEmpowerment tools needs a password to start the formatting. Normally if you don't fill in a password in the first place then there's no password needed when you want to format the system.
In my case, the notebook asks for the password anyway so my question is this:
How can I format my notebook (using eRecovery or another application) without the password?
I have a brand new acer aspire E 11 that i truly want to smash to pieces with a hammer. no kidding. I haven't even been able to use it. it's locked and i cant fix it. when i go to log in on it the first page has my name and Correct email address. then i'm supposed to put in a password. i haven't set up a password for it yet. i havent been able to even get past the log in page. when i put in a password then i am on a page that says "you PC is offline. please sign in with the last password used on this pc." I havent Used a password on this pc. i havent gotten far enough to Set one. how can i bypass this page and set a password. actually i dont even need for it to ever be locked.

I can scroll with arrows in other pages but nothing happens on Security page. Password at boot has Disabled but every boot asks for password. Is there a repair for BIOS? View 2 Replies View Relatedi was wanting to boot from a usb stick to try out ubuntu. and acer rep told me that in order to do that, i needed to set a password in the bios system. so i did so, and turned off security to set the password. when i boot now, i get that little blue screen to put in my password, and i know what is is, but when trying to turn that off and using f2 to enter the bios normally it won't let me. it will ask me in a different format for the password.
My password that i put in is blue. and it takes me to the default screen where i can put in another password to get into windows. acer told me i needed to send in the computer and pay 100 dollars which isn't gonna happen anytime soon. i really need to get into the bios system to change the order up the boot sequence so i can try out ubunu. or any other program i want. i just tried to update the bios driver, and it still asks me for a "sato security password" just to clear the air. it has some number and letters associated with the pop up.
i was wanting to install ubunu, but i can't get into the bios without a password. someone told me it's' a administrative password. someone told me it has nothing to do with the hdd password. i need to change the order of the bootup for this to work. id rather not pay for this. i also know removing the cmos battery won't do any good either. is there a cracker or patch i can use? i was gonna download the latest software for my acer aspire m5-583p laptop but didn't because it would ask for a password.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI hit enter eight times, and I get a choice of entering a password or continuing, when I continue I can go on to windows. If I choose enter a password I get a blue window with a KEY. I can take the eight digit number key, and enter it in a program on another computer, 'allservice.ro/acer' which gives me the password. I enter the password into my laptop (acer aspire E1-531-2438) and it leaves the blue window, and I can continue either with the HDD loading windows 7, or I can load a cdrom or dvd.
This is great. But if I reboot, and hit F2, I enter the BIOS, and choose security, and I see that the HDD password is still set. If I hit enter, I can enter the HDD password, but when I enter the one I just used, it tells me it is invalid.
I have also tried to kill the power, and startup again going into BIOS, but the HDD password I just used is still invalid.
I am getting a Enter Admin Password or Power On Password window on my HP G71 laptop, when I enter incorrect 3 times I get this code 80127514.
