It's really annoying that I have to sign in with my password every single time my computer wakes up and/or restarts, etc. Is there a way to bypass that initial password when I'm the only one that uses the computer? It's an Aspire V5 572P 4824, Windows 8.1 64 bit.

I have an Aspire V5-572P-6454. Occasionally I accidentally hit the power button on the side of the computer and it makes my screen go black. I can't figure out how to get me screen back, thought it was a lighting issue and tried Fn and the left and right arrows, but that doesn't work. Usually end up rebooting and losing what I've been working on.
Well I set a power on password on my HP (I think its a Notebook...) and then the next day, I was stupid enough to not write it down, I forgot it.... I've some of my usual passwords and bypass ones for Phoenix, Compaq and AMI Bios but I dont think my BIOS is made by any of them but they are the most likely candidates? anyways... I get this code which I need to provide I know this.... how to bypass the power on pass.I dont want to remove the CMOS battery....

HP Pavilion g6- not sure the model number but I think its 2216a?
I have an Aspire 6930G and I used Vista 32bit for some time without any problems but I decided to try Windows 7 64bit and everything went fine except the sound. I downloaded the drivers for this version of windows straight from the Acer site (Realtek version 6.0.1.5888) and the sound is fine almost every time but sometimes it goes all weird and starts making a lot of noise. I've tried to delete all the sound drivers from device manager and installing them again and it happens just the same thing after a while.
I'm strugling since 2 weeks with my brand new Acer Aspire E5-471-52B6 which has touchpad issues...
Symptoms: some times (this is very erratic) the touchpad freezes.
I'm not trying to run a different OS on the machine: I use the Windows 8.1 64-bit that comes with the machine.
I've downloaded and reinstalled the drivers (Intel Chipset, Intel serial IO, Synaptics Touchpad, Elantech Touchpad) from Support & Service web site...
And finally I've done a full system restore.
The touchpad responds is still erratic. What is weird is that the touchpad is shown as an HID mouse in the Windows Device Management (and not as a Synaptic or Elantech touchpad).
An external USB mouse works fine. What should I try now?
I am using the Acer eRecovery discs (Windows 7 64 bit) on my Aspire V3-571. On multiple attempts at a recovery the process hangs at Step 41 of 60 when trying to load the OOBE (Out Of Box Experience) file. A second set of discs provided by Acer produces the same results. I have an extra 1TB WD SATA HD that I have swapped into the laptop for troubleshooting purposes. No joy there. The recovery process appears to run normally until it stalls at Step 41. It has hung at that point for an hour with nothing happening.
I'm no computer genius but I'm no 'dummy' either. I tried like heck to resolve this problem but just cannot figure it out. I called Dell cust svc but they want $49 to talk to INDIA! ugh.
I need a response from someone who at least "writes" English! Bought my mom a notebook a few years ago and it was just fine until recently when my niece
tried to get on and got the Administrator's login box (blank screen underneath) - nothing before it except the Windows logo with the little boxes blinking across. No matter what we do, it won't allow a bypass ......
When I turn the computer on a blue box comes up with "Enter administrator password or Power on Password. After three attempts a code error comes up with the following 50510665. How can I reset computer?
I just recently got around to dusting off my old work horse. But when I entered what I thought was my admin password, for the third time, I received a "System Disabled [15589]" prompt. How long does the system remain disabled and how can I reset/bypass the admin password?
Error Message: "Enter Administrator Password or Power On Password"
Changes made to system that caused issue to occur: Laptop was stolen from car two weeks before Christmas, but was recovered by police and returned to me a month later. Upon retrieval of laptop, the battery was dead and the power pack/cord & mouse wasn't returned with the laptop. I had a dell power pack/cord that fit and used to turn on the computer. A black screen appeared with a blue box asking to "Enter Administrator Password or Power On Password." After 4-5 attempts to enter the password that was set for windows, the system disabled itself. I would have to remove the battery and plug in power cord to reset the computer which continues to ask to "Enter Administrator Password or Power On Password." I do not want to restore or reset the computer by losing all my personal data that was stored prior to it being stolen. Is there anyway to override this or is there a "generic password" to use as a bypass this screen to get it to operate and back to the Windows login screen?
I’m testing some E4200s (with SED SSDs and regular SSDs) and have run into a possible bug with the HDD password “bypass” option in the BIOS. The “bypass” option in BIOS allows you to specify if the HDD password needs to be entered during warm boots (restarts), standby, etc. I’ve set it to “disable”, which means that the HDD password must always be entered (even for restarts). However, the E4200 does *not* prompt for the HDD password during warm boots (restarts). It correctly prompts for the HDD password during cold boots and standby/hibernate only. I’ve tried upgrading the BIOS to the latest version (A13 to A20), but that didn’t work.
At this point I think it's a bug in the BIOS. I've tried this with different e4200 laptops and different drives (regular SSDs, and self-encrypting SSDs).
I have a dell inspiron 1300. Lately the screen has been blacking out randomly or when the screen is tilted - system still up and running, just the screen going out.
When you close the lid and open it back up, the screen will become active again. Same goes for if you hotkey it to standby and back up - screen's back for a short amount of time.
This leads me to believe there is an issue with the mechanism that shuts the monitor off when one closes the lid.
I thought I remembered seeing a cmd line for disabling that mechanism in a forum, but can't find it now that I need it (of course).
I have a HP Pavilion g7-2325sb running Windows 7 64 bit. but the buttons for adjusting screen brightness don't work. The buttons for audio adjustment do work without pusshing the fn button. In bios "action keys mode" is enabled.I think it's some software missing but can't find the software, neither can "HP support assistant".
I have problems with this configuration Aspire 5810TG (ati4330) + Win7 RTM 64bit - i dont know how to activate ATI 4330 vga (i can see it in device manager but dont know how to activate, there is no option in intel vga control pannel)
- bios version 1.28 (default from store) - bios set "Switchable graphic - Switchable"
only installed: - intel GS45 chipset 64bit drivers (infinst911autol.zip) - intel GS45 vga 4 series 64bit drivers (Win7_64_15154.zip) - ati vga drivers (ati_9-9_beta_win7_64_dd_CC.exe) - Acer lauch manager (LaunchManager_Dritek_2.0.03_Vistax64Vistax86_A.zip)
Recently I developed this simple application that lets you easily configure CineDash and other buttons functions on Acer laptops. This application, Acer CineDash Config, is mainly for mine purposes.
I tested it on my Acer 6935G and Windows 7 64bit version. It probably should work on other models and systems to.
Some of the features that Acer CineDash Config supports are: 32bit and 64bit systems Configuring applications to run and captions for buttons:oArcade DeluxeoEmpowering tech.oInternetoE-MailMaking and restoring registry backup Enabling media keys to work with other programs, like winamp, and restoring original key mapping file
I have Windows Vista 64bit on my Acer Aspire 7520-5311, I thought I had upgraded all my drivers, but I NEVER use my dvdrom drive...
Well I have ordered a dvd that I really need to use on my computer and it won't work at all... I looked in Device Manager and it shows "HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA DEVICE" and "YPY EN81IZS SCSI CdRom Device" and they both say "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be currupted or missing."
I went to the Acer Europe website for 7520 [url] and I dont see DVDROM drivers under the 64bit column.
