It's really annoying that I have to sign in with my password every single time my computer wakes up and/or restarts, etc. Is there a way to bypass that initial password when I'm the only one that uses the computer? It's an Aspire V5 572P 4824, Windows 8.1 64 bit.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi just installed windows 7 in my acer aspire, but i found that it doesnt work....
is there any new lauch manager setup for windows 7 ?
I am having trouble getting launch manager to work on my TM8200 with WIN7 Enterprise. I have the three buttons working with the programs that I prefer, but, even though it is a small problem, I would like to program the email button to check for mail and blink when I have mail, just like it did in the 'old' days.
I know that the Launch Manager program is on the computer, because I programmed the keys, but I can't open it anymore. Double clicking on all the .exe files in Launch Manager get me nowhere.
I have a Acer 6935G which I have recently installed Windows 7 on (x64). Windows found most of the drivers, audio included. I then downloaded the Windows Vista version of Launch Manager (version 2.0.0.2), and installed - and yes, everything worked great.
That is, until I found I had an issue with my microphone in Skype. I had ALOT of audio noise coming through when using the mic... I realised this was because the gain was up too high, however to reduce the microphone gain (or boost), it was impossible with the stock Windows 7 drivers.
So? I went to Realtek's website and downloaded the newest Realtek HD Audio driver - for Windows 7. I installed this, and then low and behold, in the Audio manager, I found that the mic boost was set to +20db! I removed this boost, and my audio issues were fix! Horray... Or at least, so I thought.
Upon doing this, I realised that the new Realtek audio drivers had some how stopped Launch Manager from working correctly. The "e", web and e-mail buttons all work fine, however the touch screen audio slider, mute button, etc. do not register when I press them.
Even before installing Launch Manager, on a fresh install, the mute button would work!
So this led me to go down the route that Launch Manager, and specifically the "Cinedash" part (volume controls etc) were trying to control the wrong audio device. In my audio devices, I have two "playback devices" listed, Speakers (on Realtek High Definition Audio) and Realtek Digital Output (also on Realtek High Definition Audio).
I went ahead and disabled the latter (Realtek Digital Output), but no, nothing... the controls on the cinedash still didn't do anything!
So, i decided I'd uninstall the Realtek drivers i'd just installed. After doing that? Nothing! The cinedash audio controls STILL don't control my audio!.......
recently I formttad my laptop and reinstalled WINDOWS 8.1 PRO over WINDOWS 8.1 SINGLE LANGUAGE but it didn't took activation keys from BIOS. My windows is un-activated. I did installation with Legacy BIOS without UEFI.
Product : HP Pavilion 15 n208TX
Initial OS: Windows 8.1 Single Language
Just received my x240 - everything is working as expected. However, I keep getting a notification to activate my windows?
It came preloaded with windows 8 and is currently activated - but states that it will expire in November. Whenever I try and activate it I receive this..
Did a clean boot and updated everything but still occurs.
So, Lenovo thinks my hard drive was failing on my G500. They send me a hard drive and 4 Lenovo recovery discs. I install everything properly and I get a Windows activation error.
I call Lenovo and they verify the O/S and the hard drive are properly installed. However, they tell me they cannot give me a license key and I must ship my laptop back to Lenovo so they can install a license key. Does this make sense?
The windows activation error code is 0xC004C003.
Now, what was interesting is when the rep took remote control of my machine, I saw it was registered under my son's email address and not mine (I entered mine when I did the login after the reinstall) and how/why it shows my son's address.
I have notebook Packard Bell EasyNote TV11HC 33124g50mnks. When I bought it, it has a pre-installed OEM Windows 8.
I have formatted a hard disk drive and install another OS. Windows 8 have been erased. Recovery part has be erased too.
I need to reinstall Windows 8 and activate it via OEM license. How to do it?
If I will download a original MSDN .iso image and install Windows 8 from this, will it activated? What image is better to use? Can I use Windows 8.1 instead Windows 8 by this OEM license?
I bought a E1-572P-6_BR629 and the touchpad has no scroll function with a finger or two. Is it normal?

I can't figure out how to get me screen back, thought it was a lighting issue and tried Fn and the left and right arrows, but that doesn't work. Usually end up rebooting and losing what I've been working on.

I do not possses the windows 8 disc since it did not come together with the laptop.
I searched on the net that removing the battery and waiting may work but it didn't.
I haven't been able to locate a Windows 7 x64 version of Acer eRecovery.
I can get to the basic operating system required for restoring user backup files by inserting the Restore CD in the CDROM. But if I select Restore from the eRecovery menu, after selecting the desired restore file the PC reboots into normal startup mode instead of rebooting into basic operating system for the Restore function.
I have an Aspire V3 which has become very crippled. As the laptop was not in my care before now, I had tried to use the Restore Factory Settings option in the Recovery Management tool, however when I click the button to restore, nothing happens.
I have tried running windows 8 in safe mode as well as pressing alt-f10 on start up. Nothing seems to be working. Is there any way I can reset this short of using a pre-made recovery disc?
Last night, my system started hanging on the welcome screen (for over 30 minutes), so I attempted a windows system restore to a few days ago. That wouldn't work (I can re try it and advise of the specific error messages)....
I then tried the Alt+F10 erecovery, but again receive an error message when it is almost complete - the message says "windows restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer, then restart the installation" ....
The complete factory reset is the only thing I haven't tried, as I'd rather not lose all the pictures and music I have stored on there- is there a way to resolve the issue at all, without completely wiping the hard drive? I have access to other pcs etc to download things and burn them to cd/DVD/memory sticks...

I have changed the Windows power settings so that when I close the lid it goes into hibernate mode. However, when I open the lid it does not start the laptop and restore from hibernation. I have to open the lid and press the power-on button and then it restores from hibernation.
I have a much cheaper Toshiba Laptop that just automatically starts and restores from hibernation when I open the lid. As far as I recall there were no special settings that I changed in order for the Toshiba to work like that, just the setting in the Windows power option that permits hibernation when closing the lid. The Toshiba run Windows 8.0.
Does this model Acer have this feature? If so, how do I set it up to work?
I recently reinstalled windows 8.1 on my laptop as i had cloning problems with my new ssd (crucial mx100), reinstalling windows apparently solved the problem. i had problems with my display (brightness could not be adjusted) that was solved by installing intel's latest drivers using their app as device manager showed that it had the latest drivers. i only have one issue right now, the touch pad lost its multi-touch features and windows 8.1 gestures, is there anyway to fix this? i know it is probably a driver's problem but i can't really find them in device manager and if you can post the link of the drivers.
My laptop is acer V3-772G-747A8G75MAKK.

This is what I have, and I imagine HP probably use the same drivers for most of its late model laptops on windows 7 for the touch activated media button i.e. the back lit strip above the keyboard just below the LED screen that let you activate WIFI, sound. playback..etc..
I have read from several posts that windows 7 install fine on HP laptop just that the touch strip driver does not work with the factory drivers.
My laptop is Dell Studio 1558 with Windows 7 as the OS. The issue is that now when i try to turn on the Laptop, its go'n to "Windows Error Recovery" with following options to enter:
"Launch start up repair"
and
"Start windows Normally"
I tried both the option at two different times but its not fixing the error or starting windows normally and its stuck at "Starting Windows" screen. Then I tried to use F12 - Boot option- Diagnostics for which I am getting the following errors:
"Error code 0142Msg: Error Code:200-0142Msg: Hard Drive 0 - self test unsuccessfulStatus:79"
Now when i try the same option [F12 - Boot option- Diagnostics]"Error code 0146Msg: Error Code:200-0146Msg: Hard Drive 0 - self test log contains previous error(s)What should I do to resolve this issue?
After upgrading my Inspiron 5232 from windows 8 to 8.1, I'm no long able to launch the mobility center using the quickset key. I could do that before but now, even after downloading and installing the new releases of quickset for w8.1, I can't do it.
The other 2 keys (one for the audio e the ohter one for special functions) are working fine. I can launch mobility center hitting Windows Key + X key at the same time.
If I go to c drive > Program Files > Dell > QuickSet, , I can see quickset.exe and MobilityCenter.exe. If I click on quickset.exe, the mobility center launches just fine; however, clicking on mobilitycenter.exe does not show anything on screen.
I've also tried to change the compatibility settings with no results.
I see in the forum other people reporting issues with the quickset and windows 8.1 using different system. So, it does not seem a isolate problem.
I did a complete restore of windows 7 starter on acer aspire one d270-1410. install hangs up on office 2010, currently for over 8 hours, without going any further. it's a vicious circle. can't get past office 2010 install. i have no cd drive.

I just upgraded my 8200 to Win 7 Enterprise. After formatting my HD, all drivers were installed automatically except the drivers for the the three programmable buttons next to the power button. Even without the driver, the mail and internet buttons work, but they cannot be reprogrammed. I have tried to download from Acers site, but they don't have a driver for 7 yet. The XP and Vista drivers did not work with Win7.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI bought my Acer 3810TG a month ago with Vista pre-installed and recently upgraded to Windows 7. The only problem now is that the brightness icon has disappeared (when I press Fn+left/right arrows), every other icon is working fine though.
Anyway when I looked in the Launch Manager folder, there's a folder called OSDRC with pictures of the icons, where I noticed the brightness icons were missing.
I've tried reinstalling Vista, sent it back to Acer, installing the newest/previous versions of Acer Launch Manager but neither helped.
Is it possible that someone whose brightness icons are working can upload them here or have another solution to get them back?
