Apparently its a common problem on the SXPS 13 where the Ethernet adapter fails to work after the system resumes from sleep. It is caused by the NVIDIA chipset driver.
Can you check if yours is working correctly after the system resumes from Standby or sleep? If so, can you post what OS you are using? Which driver(Win 7 or Dell one)?
I want to stop using my wireless connection on my laptop and plug an ethernet lead in.
But when I plug this lead in my laptop just stays connected to to my wireless network. I tried disabling the Wireless on my computer then putting the lead in but still it wont attempt to connect to the internet with the ethernet lead in. What driver do I need to download so it will recognize the lead is in the laptop and attempt to connect to the internet?
My laptop doesn't detect my ethernet card, so when I plug a cable in, only the yellow light at the top left of the port flashes, whereas the green light at the top right of the port does not light up. I get no signal at all. In Network Connections it shows that I only have a Wireless Connection and not LAN. Device Manager shows 3 Unknown Devices, however when I downloaded my Atheros driver from Acer's website the driver said that my hardware could not be found.
I recently reformatted and installed xp on my Aspire 5680-6123, and finding drivers is tough. Ive got most of the things working, except for the Ethernet adapter. The drivers ive tried are the broadcom ones from the acer site, but nothing seems to work. The default drivers xp wants to install do not work either.
Maybe im just doing something wrong, installing the drivers incorrectly.
link to download the drivers of the ethernet of this computer i only got 2 days to get it ive been looking for hours whats the drivers name but couldnt get it
Came to a point when I should completely restore the OS on my Acer Aspire 4752. Neither through Alt+F10 nor through eRecovery am I able to get around a Notice with the following "please complete operating system setup process before doing system recovery". There is only one option of this notice, that is to ok it and then the current Windows 7 Home Premium OS starts and I am not able to get out of this viscous circle. The OS works and is completely set up, so I do not understand what am I prompted to do. I see a number of postings out there, but no solution. Local Acer does not seem to know anything about the problem nor it's existence.
I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 6930G which came with Vista Home Premium 32bit installed. I have a problem with the Ethernet. When I plug the cable on my device I can connect to the network but after few minutes it appears a blue screen and my pc shuts down.
I have an acer aspire 5750z computer, a while back my wifi suddenly stopped working, but the ethernet is fine. I've searched the internet and tried to install the required driver (Atheros), but when I try it says that the "drive might have been ejected please reinsert it now" or something along those lines. When I go to the driver manager the wifi driver isn't even listed under network adapters, oonly the ethernet drver was there. I've heard that if your computer has had a virus or if you had dropped it the wifi card might have been damaged and I wanted to know if that's true, and if so can I buy a new wifi card?
I have a VGA plug in my Dell Inspiron 1545 and when I plug in the cord it doesnt work. I have another laptop and I used the same cord and it works. So I guess my VGA doesnt work, what do I have to get to replace the VGA in my laptop?
E6400 comes with 10/100/1000 ethernet card. However if you connect the laptop to 10/100 router,..
it will always connect at 10Mbps. I have other laptops with 10/100 ethernet card and it can connect at full speed 100Mbps. Why E6400 chose to connect at 10Mbps?.
I have checked the setting is Auto-Negotiate: - E6400 connects at 10Mbps - other laptop connects at 100Mbps
I had to format the wife's old Dell Inspiron 5100 and reinstall XP. I did not have the install CD that has all the drivers so I went to the dell website and downloaded all that I needed.
I got everything installed but the hardware manager says I have an "ethernet controller" that does not have a driver. It has a Broadcom network card in it and it says the driver is loaded properly and that the device is functioning correctly .....
On my brand new Sony SR590, I cannot get the ethernet connection to run at 10/100/1000, only at 10/100. I don't see any settings for this whatsoever and I think I've looked everywhere. I have the Yukon 88e8040 card. When I bought the computer, the site says it's a GbE card! But why isn't it running at such speed?
I got a Dv9500 although the lid says its a Pavillion DV9000 and I am dying for the ethernet driver and the OHCI Compliant IEEE 1395 host controller drivers.
I recently did a clean install from Vista 64 to Windows 7 64... I was upgrading my drivers today but came across a problem... When I install the newest driver (here) for my Realtek Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC port, my download speed (from speedtest.net) drops from 20-25,000 Mbs to 5,000 Mbs
The newest driver is 7.4.713.2009... The one which installed when I loaded up the HP / Windows 7 discs was version 7.2.1127.2008, so when I saw my speed drop so much I rolled back to this driver... So what am I missing here? Why is the newer driver causing the speed to drop so much?
i have a HP 255 G2 Notebook PC that i bought last year. The pc came with windows 8 installed so when i tried to install windows 7 64 bit i noticed the hard drive was GPG encrypted so i had to open the laptop and take out the hdd to reformat it with another computer. That went well. I installed windows 7 but i noticed the ony driver that wont work is the Network Controller driver. I have internet in the computer through a flash usb but now i need to use my wireless internet instead. So i downloaded every driver from my laptop but it wont work so i wonder if the network card is broken. In every network card i've seen on laptops there are to cables connecting the card to the motherboard. One white cable and on black cable but this laptop has only a black cable.
Laptop Model: HP 255 G2 Notebook PC Network controller IDs:
So I just got my Studio XPS 1340. Everything is good. Just installed Windows 7(clean install). But, there is a problem with the ethernet when the system resumes from sleep/standby.
I didn't test ethernet with vista. There seems to be no problems with Wifi resuming from sleep. Is this just a Windows 7 driver problem? I updated the bios, drivers, basically everything I can find I updated. Still happening.
Also turned off "Turn this device off to save power" option.
Any ideas?

More than 4 weeks I've been looking for Ethernet controller card in the laptop HP-530 for the Windows Vista Home 64-bit not this for the 32 bit, this does not work ....
After rebooting my system I now come to a screen to enter system password. Only thing is.. I never set this and there is no way around it.I have tried the take battery out reset CMOS trick that used to work in desktops to no avail.
This is the message I get after too many password attempts.
On my Pavilion dv6, a file (mobogenie/nengenie.dll) belonging to the Windows 7 system has been blocked by the anti virus/malware programn due to malware infection of this file. That is as it should be. However, pc peformance has been decreased (resources run out after 1 hrs use, lagging) as a result. What do I do? Do I have to recover Windows 7 or have clean up of my hard disc, and how?
I have a new XPS 1530 & was trying to find the specs on the components & couldn't find any. Could someone tell me the specs, or where I can find them on my computer? I'd like to find the following:
Ethernet -- 10/100 OR 10/100/1000 Firewire (1394) -- 400 or 800
Also, for the wireless card for Intel WiFi 4965AGN 1) is it dual band, 2) what speed (Mbps)?
Has anyone been able to get their Ethernet Controller to work on the Studio 17? I have the wireless working, but the Ethernet Controller will not load any drivers, automatic or manual. I have searched Intel's site and downloaded every 64 bit driver from Dell's Studio 17 download page.
im asking this because i see many other 13inch notebooks supporting it but on the sony vaio sr website it only lists 10base t and 100base tx not 1000base...
