Aug 29, 2007I have an Aspire 3050 that I need to restore to its original comdition. I created the recovery CD's when I got the laptop, however when I try and install I get read errors.

Sep 18, 2008Bought 5530 in August but already need to run recovery disks as the photo gallery constantly crashes and using restore to an earlier date does not work. I burnt two DVD's when I got it and they looked OK. However after changing start up in BIOS to dvd drive then restarting holding down f8, when pressing the complete restore tab nothing happens except a message saying no restore dvd or HD can be found. Cannot think what to try as the disks and dvd drive appear fine. I wish they included the disks with machine like sony do then you would be 100% sure it is not the disks at fault. Anyone else encounter this? I am sure the problem with the photo gallery is not a virus as I do not use the machine on the internet

Feb 26, 2015My wife's Aspire One 725 went down a couple of months ago with a bad hard drive. Of course, I hadn't maed a recovery USB. I finally ordered one from the Store, and tried it out tonight. I set the boot order to USB HDD, and, well, nothing happens! First, I see a cursor in the top left corner, and then I see the little circle of balls wait indicator, but i never get any other screen! Could I have a bad USB media from ACER?

Mar 1, 2010After change BIOS set up, the Acer 6920 cannot boot.
After turn on the ACER screen apperar with F2 (Bios) and F12 (multiboot) appear. If you dont press anything a black screen appear and stay there. If you press F2 or F12 the acer screeen stay with the "Please wait" message on it and stay forever. If dont press anything the black screen appear and stay there. Never got the RAM counting screen.
Looks like a BIOS problems so got the last version, put alone in a USB , put on the note and reboot with try every F key and every Fn+F key but never got a result.
Acer :: Extensa 5420-5038 Wireless Dont Turn On
Nov 6, 2008I bought an Acer Extensa 5420-5038 today, it cames with Vista Home 32 bits english version. As I am a brazilian, i formated it and instaled Vista Ultimate 64 bits Portugues version. The problem is, after the instalation, the wireless dont work anymore.
The light that usually flickes over it doesl not turn on, and it appears as an unknown network device on my hardware manager.
I've tried Atheros and Broadcom drivers from acer site but they didnt work and it told me the driver won't be installed because the appropriate card isn't installed....
In other words, it's telling me I dn't have an Atheros/Broadcom wireless card, but with the original instalatio of Vista it WAS working perfectly.

Feb 23, 2008i am using acer aspire 5600 xp/vista and LION battery.
my battery had memory effect once and could work for like 15-20 min.but its indicator worked fine at that time.
but now memory effect is gone and i am now facing a new problem.
At full charging, system shows that battery is not connected even it is connected.even if i unplug the AC supply still it thinks that notebook is running from AC supply.During this period i cant use my laptop keyboard and touchpad.I Can use only externally connected keyboard and mouse.
While notebook is using the laptop battery(Ac Unplugged),after sometime it detects the battery and the indicator shows 7% of battery time.Then my notebook keyboard and touchpad starts to work and then this percentage decreases to 0%. The time between shift of percentage is approx 10 min . Even On 0% the battery works fine and works for like 15 min. Overall Battery can work for like 1 hr 30 min approx(Low Performance).
My main problem is i cant use my laptop keyboard and touchpad while the battery is fully charged. i have to drain my battery in order to use keyboard and touchpad.

Apr 7, 2013I have a Dell Vostro 3300. Windows 7 OS. Hard drive went out. Replaced hard drive. Reinstalled Windows 7. Used backup system disk that I made with Recovery Manager back in December 2012. It looked like it was working properly, but after using all backup disks, got message image could not be applied. Started over, reinstalled Windows 7. Put in #1 backup system disk. When drop down box is displayed asking which backup to use, I choose 12-29-2012 like I did before. Nothing happens. It just sits there. Next button can not be used (it is greyed out).

The original hard drive was a Hitachi, 320 GB SATA

HP Pavilion 4070-us OS/Software :: New Hard Drive - Recovery Discs Won't Work
Jan 30, 2015The hard drive on my Pavilion 4070-us crashed, so I bought a replacement drive - a Samsung SSD 850 EVO, 256GB. The problem is that I can't seem to get the recovery discs to work, and neither Microsoft or HP support me. Microsoft of course tells me that they won't support for OEM versions of Windows 7, and HP said that my product has been discontinued. I own a legal copy of Windows 7....
What happens after I go through the installation process with the recovery discs is that instead of the Windows installation continuing like it's supposed to, I get "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key". I'm desperate, I tried two different options - one was the minimal image recovery, the other one was a factory restore. Nothing seems to work. What can I do? By the way, the original hard drive is not *completely* dead - I can still access most of the data on it.

I also tried decompressing the factory iso file to Os partition and when i tried to start the pc and boot with Os partition as active it didn't work.

Feb 12, 2010just got my son the 1810TZ and reinstalled with Win7 64Bit Ultimate.
I now cannot get the wifi to work no matter what. Thoughts? Is it an Atheros? I have installed the atheros package as well as all other drivers that say wifi with no luck...keep getting network cable unplugged and in system properties it identifies a network controller to which there are no drivers installed...
I thought Win 7 would pick up all poss hardware for the most part. I never had this prob on my 1810T-6188.
Acer :: Travelmate 240 CPU Upgrade No Work
Oct 24, 2008I'm trying to get more grunt and more importantly more go/ less battery hammering (not at the same time..) out of an old TM240. So I bought a 2.8 P4 HT (SL7DS) which in theory should work in this board as it has the 852 chipset. However, when I fit it all I get is the wireless light comes on, and nothing more. Oh, and the light doesn't then go off when I press the power button again..
Works fine if I drop the Celeron back in though.
I can try sticking the P4 in a desktop I've got kicking around to make sure it works, but assuming it does, why doesn't it in the laptop? BIOS is the latest available and the board/ BIOS should be the same as the 250 series, which certainly came with P4 processors
