The touchpad on my dell inspiron 1545 has stopped working for no apparent reason. The left and right buttons still work. An external mouse works and I was able to check my touchpad settings using it, the touchpad settings all appear to be in order and I verified it was enabled. I can't understand why the touchpad suddenly stopped working...
I'm using Windows Vista.
I'm having an issue with my wifi connection, it keeps dropping without an apparent reason.
It's a Dell Inspiron 5748-10001.
I have updated the wireless drivers Dell [Wireless 1704 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver] to this version Network_Driver_D1DJJ_WN_6.30.223.181_A00, but it still doesn't seem to work.
I don't know if it's related but I can't seem to install [Dell Wireless 1705 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver] Network_Driver_HP06Y_WN_10.0.0.276_A00, the installation is always a failure.
My touch screen has recently stopped working for an unknown reason. I looked under "Devices' in 'Device Manager' using the side 'Search' tool and I actually can't find the touch screen program anywhere. I ran a Diagnostics Test for it and it said that the device could not even be found.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a ThinkPad Edge 15. It had a charging problem from the day I purchased it. The people I bought it from sent it back to IBM/Lenovo who apparently tightened the area where the charging cord goes into the PC?
That did NOT fix the issue, so when I got my laptop back, I called LEnovo, they sent me a new battery (even though I told them the 'Power Manager' said the battery was in good condition) which did nothing. Then they sent me a new charging cord, again-nada. They sent me a box to send the laptop back to them. As I was figuring out how to put the laptop in the box, I looked over @ my PC, and lo and behold; the light that tells you if it is charging was shining!
Last night. I looked @ the charging icon; '15%, not charging'! Oops! Oh dear, not again! Went to power manager, everything is just fine. Checked all of my connections, same thing. I left the laptop plugged in. This morning as I look over @ the laptop & Guess WHAT! It was charging, the light was on! I turned it on...
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 and the 98% ofthe keyboard has stopped working. I turned it on and tried to log on but nothing. I tried restarting it, taking out the battery and even cleaning the keyboard still nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedPurolator dropped off the laptop today and I was quite excited. I tried the Bluray and it's definitely worth the extra money. However, some things are going wrong.
First, the damn touchpad sucks. I want Synaptics back. But at this point all I can do is BAWW about it, so whatever. But when I try to install the drivers, the cursor flips out every time I touch the pad at all. It goes all over the screen in random directions.
Second, my bluetooth doesn't seem to be working. I installed the drivers on Windows Vista and Windows 7, but neither of them yielded results. The drivers install without a problem and then tell me to enable Bluetooth using the radio button. The radio button is already enabled, as Wi-Fi is working, but there is still no Bluetooth option in the Control Panel or anywhere else for that matter.
Third, Bluray movies seem to not work with WMP. What's the problem? If it's not supported, what program do you guys suggest I use for Bluray movies?
Fourth, no matter what I do, Catalyst Control Center just won't install. The drivers are there, but CCC just won't work at all, let alone show up in my desktop context menu.
I've got a new Inspiron 15 (S/N DPDYC12) with Ubuntu, installed Win7 x64 on it, most drivers from the Dell site, and on launch it brings up the error "Synaptics touchpad 64-bit enhancements has stopped working". When I try to enter mouse options in control panel, I get the error "Unable to connect to synaptics pointing device driver'. Tried reinstalling the driver, rebooting, etc. How do I fix it?

Initially the touchpad was working fine, then it stopped responding, only when I attached a USB mouse could I use the laptop. I re-installed drivers and the Touchpad worked correctly again. A few days later, the trackpad stopped working again....reinstalled drivers yet again and everything worked fine. Now for the 3rd time in 4 days the trackpad is not working. Is this a hardware or Windows 7 Issue?

When I installed Windows 7, I receive error message "Synaptics TouchPad 64-bit Enhancements has stopped working." Wen I close this my touchpad start working erratically. While typing cursor moves itself without touch or click.
The driver given on Dell site under Windows 7 is same as for Windows 8. I also tried drivers from Synaptics website but nothing worked.
The touchpad on my Inspiron 15 stopped working this morning. I have a mouse plugged in and that seems to work but I'd like to get my touchpad working again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the touch pad drivers but it won't allow the driver to reinstall.

My Battery Lasts a couple of seconds, Left Mouse stuck in and wont work sometimes. But the main problem is overheating recently the fan literally stopped spinning, it made some weird sounds like clashing and now it doesn't spin AT ALL. My Laptop lasts 30 minutes before overheating and turning off. Another Problem is my wireless networks!?? I thought maybe the driver had gone bad so i rebooted and booted Windows XP( on a different partition) and in windows xp the touchpad also didnt work anymore.
Is this a hardware failure? Or are there other possibilities? I tried removing the driver and reinstalling, but it still didnt work.
The Synaptics touchpad on my DV6-2113tx stopped working a few days ago. The light on the top says its active but it doesn't work. Cannot get it to go inactive either. Have installed the new drivers from the hp site but still no luck. This is what I see under mouse properties.

Touchpad is enabled in mouse settings, and device manager says drivers are up to date and that the device is working.
However, the touchpad is completely unresponsive, and restarting the computer didn't do anything. Is there anything else that could be done? Or should I believe that this is hardware failure?
The touchpad and USB 3.0 port on my E5-551-89TN with windows 8.1 has stopped working. I have downloaded both drivers and installed them again but both arn't even showing up in device manager. I have updated all drivers includeing the BIOS but they still are not being detected by Windows 8.1.

The pointer doesn't move AT ALL when the touchpad is touched. Luckily, I have a USB mouse, but having to use it kind of takes away the portability.
but it's entirely possible that I made some sort of stupid error or changed some setting to make the touchpad unresponsive.

Downloaded new driver (ALPS Touchpad v7.1007.115.102. A05) no less than 3 times and had a partial success. Now right half of touchpad is ok but left half can only respond to up/down finger movements.
Run Dell diagnostics and all hardware is ok.
Run a full antiVirus scan and ok. Laptop says new driver is ok and running ok.
Touchpad does not work in BIOS and done a full diagnostic check and said the touchpad is fine!
Use of mouse is ok so not the end of the world!

I wish to disable the touch pad on my Inspiron 1545 with Windows 8.. I have a Logitech wireless mouse. Currently both the mouse and the touch pad operate the curser. I want to only use the mouse. In Windows 7 the default was mouse only as soon as the wireless interface was installed. This is not the case with Windows 8.
I've been told to go to the Device driver and select the touch pad under Mouse and other pointers. The touch pad is not listed. I've tried disabling the PC Mouse compatible but the disable button is inactive.
I changed my battery from original to an aftermarket one as the original battery died. But after changing the battery the monitor flickers for few seconds and everything goes blank.
I put back my original battery, not working (Before it was working with Mains on)
I removed the battery, pressed the power button for 10 seconds and then I put back and connected mains. Again the display flickers and everything goes blank after few seconds.
I bought a Dell inspiron 1545 just about an year ago.It was working smoothly till now.A few days back I installed windows 7 and the eject button on the keyboard started having problems.At times it wont work , a reboot might solve it , but the problem keeps on show up again..The eject button on the tray is working perfectly !
