Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 :: Laptop Completely Crashed
Mar 25, 2013my Dell inspiron 15R N5010 crashed on me, I had no previous warning that this was going to happen, when it crashed I was just watching a movie and not using up much CPU power. The laptop had not over been over heated, I checked straight after it crashed. It now is completely unresponsive i've tried using different chargers, batteries and I have also checked the internal hardware and everything seems to be intact, I assume at the moment it is a motherboard malfunction.

Dec 15, 2014I am trying to reinstall Windows 8 on my Inspiron 15Z 5523. I recently got the restore media from Dell with a Windows 8 install disk, but the disk does not have drivers present to access the hard drive/SSD array. Every time I try to install it, it says there is a driver missing.
I originally had tried to restore the system, and I reformatted the hard drive with Dell's utility, but then I ran into a problem because the Dell utility to create recovery media only produced one disk (it did not give me the system image, so I had nothing to restore).
I cannot get Windows 8 reinstalled (nor any other version of Windows) on it. What do I need to do to load the HDD/SDD RAID Drivers on the computer to install Windows?

Mar 22, 2013My Laptop has developed a series of problems. When I am on IE9 I can not access any webpages via the search engine. Also I keep getting a Script error message when I try to print online. I have done complete scans etc and checked Internet Option settings to no avail. I have got to the point were I want to do a complete recovery. When I put the first disc in the computer opens up in the normal fashion. I have tried to download the updated BIOS driver, but I get to Download Manager, run the program, and nothing else happens.

Nov 10, 2014Dell Inspiron 15Z model 5523 laptop less than 2 years old. Locked up during a Windows update. Refreshed it and lost all my programs. Downloaded Firefox accidentally from a bad site and it was bundled with malware. So I refreshed the laptop again. Had everything working and then later that day it just quit. Locked up and when I rebooted, it said no hard drive could be found. I have a new hard drive, but how do I get my Windows 8 (paid for with the computer) and a boot disk from Dell?

Feb 3, 2013My Dell Vostro 3450 (windows 7) had been running slowly for a while and after a virus scan didn't work, I decided to reinstall my operating system. I used the OS reinstall disk that came with the computer and that seemed to work pretty well. However, when it came time to install the drivers, I hit a roadblock. I put in the drivers disk and tried to go through the list of what drivers to install first (DSS, then chipset, etc...) but each time I installed something, it didn't seem to do anything-- I would go through the whole process for each one, but the little check mark wouldn't appear next to it in the "My System" list.... My computer can't connect to the internet either by ethernet or wifi, and can only input info through the cd drive.

Mar 19, 2013Inspiron N5010 does nothing when power button pressed, if power cord is attached then blue charging light goes out indicating that power unit has been overloaded and tripped out. If power lead is unplugged from laptop and mains supply, then plugged into mains again power is restored to adaptor and blue light on lead lights up again. Using Dell manual I have stripped laptop down to component parts. If mains adaptor is plugged into I/O board then charging light on lead remains lit. When motherboard ( including CPU ) is remounted onto I/O board, when mains adaptor is plugged in charging light goes out. Motherboard does not show any burnt area's or signs of damage to any component. Tried all versions of static discharge to laptop before stripping down without success. If the only solution is to replace Motherboard how can I order. The existing board includes 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD550v Graphics. The laptop is out of warranty.

Jan 3, 2015I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop running Windows7, and it automatically powers off when I login to my computer.
I tried to run Diagnostics but it will not complete as laptop crashes within 30 seconds or so of logging in. As it crashes there is an audible click.
This happens both when the laptop is on AC Power and Battery, and in safe mode or starting normally.

Mar 21, 2013I have a Inspiron 15 Intel (N5010) laptop with Win7 64bit. when I start my computer with headphones plugged in and then unplug them, no sound comes from the speakers. If I start the laptop with headphones unplugged then there is no problem (also, when I start with the unplugged, then plug the headphones in and then unplug, the sound from the speakers is ok).
I installed the latest audio drivers and codecs. But now that I think of it, I installed latest network drivers from dell site. I have a TOSHIBA MK6461GSYN hard drive and I wonder where could I check if there is a newer firmware available? Checked Toshiba site and they had some update program but that needed a floppy drive.

Apr 4, 2013I have replaced mother board and LCD of my Inspiron N5010. After replacement, it started to shut down constantly, usually 5-10 min after start up. I have run diagnostics, it showed error 2000-0413 (LCD cable not detected), but could not finish all diagnostic process, cause it shut down again during CPU memory test.
Is it possible that because of this error computer shut downs then working or it is two separated problems? Can it be that only cable connector causing error or it is a defect of new mother board?

I created a second partition and installed a vanilla Windows 7 on it and booted into it and it still boots slowly.I've tried every form of optimization that various sites, including you, have told other people in forums. Drivers, defragmentation, chmod, and various other things I can't remember.
It takes about 3-5 minutes for a cold boot and about 9 minutes from hibernation. Sleep mode works normally.I don't know what the issue could be.
