Dell Inspiron 15Z 5523 :: Crashed And Cannot Get Windows To Reinstall
Dec 15, 2014
I am trying to reinstall Windows 8 on my Inspiron 15Z 5523. I recently got the restore media from Dell with a Windows 8 install disk, but the disk does not have drivers present to access the hard drive/SSD array. Every time I try to install it, it says there is a driver missing.
I originally had tried to restore the system, and I reformatted the hard drive with Dell's utility, but then I ran into a problem because the Dell utility to create recovery media only produced one disk (it did not give me the system image, so I had nothing to restore).
I cannot get Windows 8 reinstalled (nor any other version of Windows) on it. What do I need to do to load the HDD/SDD RAID Drivers on the computer to install Windows?
I just bought this laptop about a month, it has windows 8 preinstalled. After using it for a month, I'm not a big fan of windows 8, I like windows 7 better, but I like my new laptop.
How to install windows 7 on Inpiron 15z 5523?
Also, where can I get drivers for windows 7 for this laptop?
I bought this 15z 5523 in 2012 with i3 and Windows 8 mainly because of WiDi but since then haven't been able to install it. Not sure what am I supposed to do as each time I get a message stating my wireless adapter is not supported.
When I did a check, learnt I have Dell wireless 1703 802.11 network adapter is not supported for Intel WiDi. I am not sure how can I enable my laptop for WiDi. .
I've recently bought an Inspiron 15Z 5523 (Win 8) and started experiencing ghost clicks on the touch screen (primarily on the left side of the screen). Once it starts happening, it pretty much makes it impossible to use the laptop since it starts to click/zoom/scroll randomly continuously. Leaving it alone wont fix it. I have to turn off the laptop via the power button and the problem fixes itself sometimes after turning it back on, but at other times, have to leave it off for longer. I have also tried wiping the screen clean, but doesn't work either.
I am trying to format my C drive and have a fresh installation of the operating system on my Inspiron 1460, which I bought 3 years back. Steps that I am following:
1. Insert Re-installation DVD for Windows 7 Home, provided by Dell
2. Power off machine
3. Power on machine
4. While it is starting press F12, and select CD/DVD and press Enter
5. "press any to key read from cd/dvd" appears, press Enter
6. System boots up
7. Install now button appears, click it
After this it is asking for a driver cd/location to install. I have a driver software cd which is also not recognized.
I am using an Inspiron 15R SE 7520 which I upgraded to Windows 8 after partitioning my hard drive (two accessible drives c: and d:). The restore partition was left intact.
Due to a software incompatibility I am going to have to restore back to Windows 7, and I hope to use the Dell restore utility.
My question is: If I use the utility will my D drive data (backed up files etc) also be wiped, or will just the C drive be reformatted?
I bought DELL Inspiron 15r N7520 a year back with windows 8 in it, since then I am continuously facing multiple issues , I updated my windows 8 to 8.1 so it was asking for key I searched a lot but never found any sticker on laptop or any CD , I found no way to go back so I tried installing another windows by boot and while doing so I face so many problems at last I went to command prompt diskpart and CLEAN ALL . It removed each and everything I have no way to recover refresh or any other. No option seems to be working for me. And even I don't have dell backup and recovery. If I try to insall windows8 by DVD it gives an error of key doesn't match . Is there any way to install windows without sending my laptop to Dell ?
I just got my new Dell Inspiron 5523 laptop last week and have noticed that it will frequently just shut down on me. It isn't plugged in, doesn't feel hot and I don't even have anything up but IE. What is going on? A brand new laptop shouldn't be acting this way...
I just received replacement media to install win 7 on Inspiron N5110. The install is failing with a general Windows install message, restarts computer to complete setup then errors again. I ran the diagnostics again and the memory is getting this error:
I installed some windows updates to my computer. The next time I turned on my computer it didn't act normal at all. It went to a start-up repair screen which scanned for a long time only to tell me "start-up repair cannot fix this computer" so I shut down and left my computer. I called Dell's support line and talked with technical assistance, the guy had me run some tests and in the end told me that there was nothing wrong with the hard drive and that it was my systems software that was the problem. didn't wanna restore at that point because wanted to save my pictures.
I ended up taking the hard drive out, transferring pictures onto my brothers computer and then I did a full system restore ( by tapping f8, choosing repair my PC, then choosing "Dell data safe restore and emergency backup" in the system recovery options screen. ) This actually worked and I restored my computer, however after installing updates again (quite a few too, when I shut down my computer it said installing update 1 of 72?! )
My computer went back to the start up repair screen and did the same thing as before. restored my computer one more time, and now again after updates were installed my computer will not work correctly. I do have the windows product key under the battery but would like to know how I can fix this problem. Will have to reinstall my windows software?
I had just closed it the other night after charging it. Then there was nothing - no boot, no LED with charger, no fan. I checked and the charger is definitely functioning, so I worry that this is a problem with the motherboard.
Since it's an ultrabook, I haven't been able to remove flea power since the battery is embedded into the laptop.I wonder if it would be possible for a technician to come have a look at it ASAP?
I would boot from USB but the USB device doesn't appear in the list of bootable device.... I also upgrade my bios to the latest version: A02 but it doesn't solve the problem.... What could I do?
Also I was thinking to upgrade using a bios of similar model like the XPS 15z, could give problem use a different model bios?
My Inspiron 6400 laptop has suddenly slowed down really slow. Connection speed, downloading even typing is painfully slow. I've been told my Wndows XP service pack 3 which I installed recently may be unstable and needs to be . So I need to get a copy of it to download again. My warranty has expired.
I put a new hard drive in my Dell Inspiron 6000 and installed Vista. That was horrible so I reinstalled Windows XP. The Wireless was working in Vista. Now when I try to see Dell WLAN it comes up No Adapters.
I have a brand new Inspiron 5523 Laptop which came with Windows 8 on it. After using it for a couple of weeks I absolutely hate this new OS and want to downgrade to Windows 7 Pro so it matches the OS on my desktop.I have run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check compatibility and the following state "We do not have compatibility information about this device"
Question 1 - Is it going to be possible to get a Windows 7 Pro Compatible Driver for the above items?
Question 2 - Where can I find a step by step instruction guide to downgrading to Windows 7 Pro?
Question 3 - In addition to the SATA Hard Drive it also has a 32GB Solid State Drive which I understand is used for caching. Will the SSD also be compatible with Windows 7 and provide the same function automatically?
Today suddenly when I press the power button laptop wont turn on at all. It is also plugged in.
I hear people saying when this happens they say remove the battery and hold the power button for 15 seconds but the battery is built in and not removable
Any way my laptop is just 5 months years old and what might causes this problem now?
I'm facing the similar issue on my laptop Insipiron15Z 5523.
Before the issue got popped up, i was ran into waves in the screen and it was persisted for more than a minute so i thought of something went wrong and made forced Shut down by long pressing the power button.
Enclosed the image for quick diagnostics.
Then again i was attempted to switch on my lap, following odd things happened.
1.After switching on, LED lights of Power button, favorites,Music were flashed - usual - nothing got worked.
2.Not got any response, after sometime i heard long beep sound at equal intervals without gap.
3.Beep sound never shuts down and i press the power button in single stroke, machine got switched(not long press)
4.Next time i was attempt to run for diagnostics mode like pressing the F2 & F3 button,no use.
My Laptop is non responsive and am not getting any indications on my screen.
I have installed windows 8 on my dell inpiron n5110 but as it has a lot of bugs, i have uninstalled Windows 8. Now i am reinstalling Windows 7 in it but it is not working properly.
I tried installing Windows 7 several times but each time when Windows 7 installation finishes, system restarts and shows following blue screen.
Windows 7 is not moving further. Each time when i restarts computer, Windows splash screen (Windows Logo Screen) shows and then moves to error screen.
Inspiron Ultrabook 15z 5523...A few of my keyboard keys, including the spacebar, stopped working for 48 hours (estimate). I tried everything I could think of and everything support told me to do. restarted. nope. support program that checks keyboard: nothing. Suddenly keys work again, but in the process Dell sent out a guy to replace the keyboard. He replaced it. The new keyboard just did the same thing. Must be a hardware, motherboard issue or something. I need this <ADMIN NOTE: Substitute character removed as per TOU> computer for design/developing/school/projects.
I have a DELL Inspiron 15z 5523 which intermittently make a repeated series of 5 loud beeps. The support site seems to suggest a problem with the CMOS/Bios coin cell battery. So I presume I need to replace this. Does this sound right?
I have the user manual that shows how to replace this battery (after taking everything apart!) which looks do-able. But I can't find out what kind of coin cell battery I need to buy for replacement.
I have reinstalled the windows (an another version of win7) on my Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop (all previous partitions deleted, so it is same as if installed a new hdd). I have installed the drivers from my original dell drivers dvd. Everything is good, but the sleep function is disabled, grayed in the start menu (hibernation is enabled). What may the problem? I would use sleep instead of hibernating.
my Dell inspiron 15R N5010 crashed on me, I had no previous warning that this was going to happen, when it crashed I was just watching a movie and not using up much CPU power. The laptop had not over been over heated, I checked straight after it crashed. It now is completely unresponsive i've tried using different chargers, batteries and I have also checked the internal hardware and everything seems to be intact, I assume at the moment it is a motherboard malfunction.
I am currently on Windows 7 and sometime randomly my Computer screen freezes up and I can't do anything but wait, then it says Mobile Intel graphics accelerator (XP) has crashed.
How and where do I get the driver for the Windows 7 version?
Also... I can't seem to update my BIOS version from A05 to A14 cause my battery is dead and it says I need 10% battery, that's crap, I don't care if I have battery or not I JUST WANT TO UPDATE IT.
Dell Inspiron 15Z model 5523 laptop less than 2 years old. Locked up during a Windows update. Refreshed it and lost all my programs. Downloaded Firefox accidentally from a bad site and it was bundled with malware. So I refreshed the laptop again. Had everything working and then later that day it just quit. Locked up and when I rebooted, it said no hard drive could be found. I have a new hard drive, but how do I get my Windows 8 (paid for with the computer) and a boot disk from Dell?
I have a Latitude E6410. Hard Drive crashed. Bought a new HD, installed and installed Windows 7 Home Premium. Got no wireless. Looking at Device Function I see no driver for:
My Dell Vostro 3450 (windows 7) had been running slowly for a while and after a virus scan didn't work, I decided to reinstall my operating system. I used the OS reinstall disk that came with the computer and that seemed to work pretty well. However, when it came time to install the drivers, I hit a roadblock. I put in the drivers disk and tried to go through the list of what drivers to install first (DSS, then chipset, etc...) but each time I installed something, it didn't seem to do anything-- I would go through the whole process for each one, but the little check mark wouldn't appear next to it in the "My System" list.... See below:
My computer can't connect to the internet either by ethernet or wifi, and can only input info through the cd drive.
