i cant make the monitor to work in his native resolution 2560x1600.The best i can get is 1920x1200 with hdmi cable.i have try with hdmi to dvi cable and it give me 1920x1080

I just got my new Acer Aspire V14 touch (Windows 8.1) and want to connect it to my Sharp Aquos LC-32DA5U TV via HDMI. I can see the picture but cannot adjust the screen resolution to the native resolution recommended for this TV (1366x768). Funny enough this is exactly the resolution my laptop is using.

When I force use of this resolution via show all in the display properties, then I don't get a picture but just a black screen on my TV.

Is there any other driver etc that I need to install to make this work? It worked perfectly fine as PnP with my old Lenovo computer under Windows 7.
How to make my touch-pad scroll function work? I drag my fingertip up or down the right side of the pad, on the line, and get nada, zip. If i hold down the left click key i can scroll with the window slide bar but thats it. I have checked all of the settings for mouse that I know about. .
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my Inspiron N5010 screen, it doesn't work when switching on my laptop on Battery or AC mode. It happens a lot of times when I turn on the laptop the power button, the power indicators at the bottom turns on normally and the laptop is running without any weird sounds. But the screen is pitch black even doesn't show up anything when I concentrate on it in with a lamp or any light.
When I press the power button again even after 5 mins from the start time of being running the laptop just turn off immediately and doesn't take time to switch off as If the windows wasn't loaded!
I was resolving this problem by disconnecting the AC adapter > removing the battery > Pressing and hold the power button for 20 seconds technique.but today it doesn't work anymore, If there's anything I can do to get the screen backlight to work normally ....
I have just got a new dell XPS 12, but no touch is enabled in it. I would like to know, is there any way to enable it, like hardware switch/ or from BIOS etc. Or I landed up with a defective device? What is the wayout to make touch work on XPS 12.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a VAIO SZ3 an I decided yo make a win vista clean install, I installed all drivers and everything works correctly except the FN+brightness or FN+ any combination. But misteriously FN+volume and mute works, I don't know why.
I also realized that when I switch the button of speed and stamina the window that ask you if restart does not apear.
I have very recently bought an Acer laptop, and tried to load my old Chamionship Manager 2001 game which i used often on my old laptop. Anyway, the game says that i don't have enough memory to run it on the laptop (definitely not true unless the laptop is lying about its memory)) but I did notice when it was laoding it said it needed DirectX and I should install a service pack (didn't get this with the laptop). Just been looking and it says Windows 7, which I have, has DirectX incorporated into it, is this true? Should I be downnloading DirectX to make my game work?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavilion dvt7 laptop.  I'd like to connect this to a 30" HQHD Display Port, HDMI, DVI-D, PC Monitor with a maximum resolution of 2560x1600 (via Display Port or DVI-D).  Is this possible and if so, through what ports and/or adapters to get the 2560x1600 resolution?  The machine does have an express card slot.  Can I use an expresscard to USB 3.0 adpater, then use a usb 3.0 to displayport adapter and connect to the monitor's displayport?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently formatted my Acer Aspire 5935G and downloaded and installed all drivers from the Acer website. I currently am experiencing the following probs:
1. The Acer PowerSmart Button is not working (cannot find drivers / application to make it work)
2. Cannot switch from the onboard video card (Intel) and the "discrete" one which is an ATI Radeon Mobility 4570 HD
- Both video cards are installed
Current OS - Vista Ultimate x86 SP1
I'm wondering if there is a way to shut down the Screen monitor on (Dell xps studeio 1640) while it's working downloading?
Usually there is a button on the keyboard for this kind of task, but I haven't been able to find any (Fn+Button) combination on the keyboard for this particular task..
PS. I know that putting the laptop screen all the way down is a way 2 solve this, but im looking for other or -the Button "shutdown" alternative....

Monitor works up until Windows loads.
Monitor works when running Ubuntu. Repeated 3 times
Monitor works when at C: prompt.
External monitor works when plugged in to port.
If I look hard enough I can see my desk top on the screen so I know it’s there
Have run System Restore 6 times from restore disc that were made on first use.
Have run System Restore 3 times by pressing the F10 key.
BIOS was still at default values, but I reset it anyway
Windows XP Home SP2 and is completely up to date.
All drivers are as current as I could find.
Windows indicates all drivers are working properly.
Refresh rate is at 60HZ.
I know the monitor works as it works fine with Ubuntu. However I cannot run one of the primary applications
I need to use under Ubuntu so I have to have Windows loaded.
We have several 8460p with the same issue. They work fine until you try to connect an external monitor/TV/projector and then the trouble begins.

When using Fn+F4 to establish a dual screen output the external monitor and the built in screen switches between the two as if the PC can not determine the screen to use. On rare occasions it works but it is not reliable. I´ve first encountered this on a fair and when I tried it before the session it worked well. During the session it just started this behaviour. I took it out and replaced the graphic drivers, the BIOS and made sure the resolution was not the issue. It worked well and I returned it to the lecturing room and it started again.

I started to believe the projector was the bad part here so I did not try to use the PC again on that fair but no other computer showed any sign of trouble.

Since then, this was early this spring, I´ve seen and experienced the same problem with several computers of the same type and with different monitor and they all behave the same way.

I have spent some time now and searched the web but nothing I´ve found does explain anything around this and so far no driver update and no other update (including a full installation) has solved this.

There are not any other indication of that something is wrong in logs or anything.
Screen went black and turning on off does not get it to work. After searching tried a few of the suggested fixes for other models and no luck. Does not work with external monitor either. Are there any known bios fixes for this model...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new T430s and, overall, I've been very happy with it. However, I'm having trouble getting a particular multi-monitor configuration to work.I am trying to get the very first configuration as is described on this page. URL....It is simply a 3-monitor setup where one monitor is external and hooked up via VGA, another monitor is external and hooked up via DisplayPort, and the third monitor is the actual laptop monitor. I simply cannot get this to work! I can plug in a single external monitor, but when I try and plug in a second, it always disables my laptop monitor, so I end up with only a 2-monitor setup.

I've called Lenovo Support 3 times after encountering this problem, and They kept citing that it was a "configuration" issue and that it's not their problem, and then they'd forward me to another department which would then forward me right back to them.Â
I was on a friend's brand-new inspiron 1525 today. After I began using it, I immediately noticed just how awful the touchpad is.
It is extremely inprecise. It's almost as if the sensitivity is constantly changing as I use the touchpad. I don't remember if I tried adjusting the settings; if I did, it didn't help.
I soon discovered that if you move your finger in a perfectly straight horizontal motion across the touchpad (no vertical motion), the cursor, as it's moving across the screen, will also 'bounce" up and down, getting worse towards the right side of the tochpad.
It doesn't abruptly jump at all; rather, it's as if the linearity of the touchpad is WAY off.
I have a weird issue which I did not realize until my system was crashed.
I have Inspiron 1525 purchased in sep 2008. Order and original configuration is showing XP whereas recovery CD alongwith was Vista (my mistake was that I did not check the CD until now).
1.Now how should I reimage my laptop with XP?
2.Where to find the OS Key for XP? Will Vista key work for XP or is there anyway I install vista and upgrade to XP?

My laptop INSPIRON 17 (3721) has problems to start and makes 5 beeps. I saw in other forum that it is a matter of the coin battery. I have already changed it and it is still doing the same. It doesn't show video, there's no fan noise but the power led is on. After about 5 minutes the fan starts.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a DELL Inspiron 15z 5523 which intermittently make a repeated series of 5 loud beeps. The support site seems to suggest a problem with the CMOS/Bios coin cell battery. So I presume I need to replace this. Does this sound right?
I have the user manual that shows how to replace this battery (after taking everything apart!) which looks do-able. But I can't find out what kind of coin cell battery I need to buy for replacement.
I have an HP dv9000 laptop.
It came with Windows Vista, at one point I was dual-booting Vista/XP, and I am currently using Windows 7beta.
I recently went in my bios settings and tried to enable native sata support, and after that, my computer wouldn't go into Win7, until i disabled it again.
It was enabled when i first got my computer, and i had to disable it for XP compatibility. I figure, if it works with Vista, there's no reason it wouldnt work with Win7. Perhaps it's configured to run without the setting, so enabling it effs it up and confuses it. is there any way i can enable it again, preferably without having to do a full OS install?
Just logged on to dell's driver site. WOW, new drivers dated yesterday for fingerprint. Finally i'm getting native windows 7 bio support for my M4400. Downloaded and installed.
No, nothing, nada, shaite. Still no support. This is ugly. Just read online that Dell listens and now you can get Inspiron 10 with Moblin. What about business users that scream for native bio support for latitude and precisions. Dell needs to shape up on this point.
So I just had Windows 7 reinstalled as my harddrive died. But after the reinstall, Windows 7 only detects my laptops native resolution (recommended resolution) as 1280x800.
I know this laptop has the 1440x900 display, I have coworkers with the same laptop and their display shows the "recommended" is 1440x900, and I know that was the case before I lost my drive and got a new one with a reinstall.
This laptop has the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M adapter, and I have the latest driver for this from NVIDIA.
Why does windows think my native resolution is 1280x800. I can use the NVIDIA driver to force it to go to 1440x900, which works. I was just wondering why it is doing this. Is there some inf package that I need from Dell?
installing Windows XP on my HP Pavillion Dv2100. Windows could load with Native Sata disabled but when I try to enable it, it gives me a BSOD during the Windows loading screen. I tried doing the steps on [url] and it still doesnt work.
I also tried reinstalling Windows with Native Sata enabled but it says Windows cannot detect a hard disk. Tried reinstalling using a Flash Drive with Windows installed using WinToFlash and it said "Ntldr is missing".

NTFS-3G + Macfuse does not work in snow leopard 64-bit kernal If anyone got it to work I'd like to know how as I have tried everything an it doesn't work.
So here is an even better alternative.
Remember when Snow leopard was supposed to support NTFS natively out of the box? Well it does...kind of. I'm not sure what happened but Apple was working on it, but in the end decided not to activate it. Kinda almost like the ipod touch with the camera.
Before you can do anything, you must completely uninstall NTFS-3G and Macfuse. Heres on how to uninstall.

If you do wish to remove it, you do it just like how you would remove any other non-Apple preference pane: In System Preferences, control-click (right-click) on the MacFUSE icon and you will see "Remove ..." as an action............
