Jan 18, 2009I am in desperation currently with this problem. Let me explain my setup first.
I have the Dell E1505, 2gb ram, ATI X1400 mobility, 1.66ghz duocore processor, about 2 years old.
I recently got fed up with the onboard sound as I have taken a hobby up in purchasing high fidelity headphones.
This led me to get a M-Audio Fast Track Pro which is an external sound card with a separate headphone amplifier.
I basically used this sound card as my sound card as opposed to the sigmatel audio that's in the computer.
Everything was great but i found out that everytime that I did anything graphics related on my computer (blow up an image, scroll down a webpage, minimize a window, etc) that there would be a crackle/static that comes from the sound.
It got reallllly annoying so I tried finding a solution but really could not.

Apr 24, 2009like in several threads mentioned installing not the DELL-WLAn drivers but the broadcom Mini-1510 (http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/R212337.EXE) reduces the latency/crackling sound problem.
This worked also on my E6500, so I'm very happy.
I also tried to change hd from IRRT to AHCI, disabling DELL WLAn 802.11a, installing Matirx driver 8.2 or 8.8 and so on.

Oct 3, 2014Few days ago my laptop has this problem, whenever i use battery, meaning im not charging my laptop ..the speaker give crackling sound ..and i have to change sound format from 192000Hz to 96000Hz ..thats only work in balance mode and high performance, but when in power saver ..i have to change to 48000Hz ..it also happen when charging my laptop ...so what is the problem ? i rarely use my laptop speaker because i have external speaker ..but this is the first time it happen ...last week laptop speaker work perfectly ..why now?

Sep 1, 2014I recently received this acer laptop as a gift. Right from the first time I started it I noticed issues with the sound. With any audio that played there were crackling noises.The crackling got worse and worse so I Decided to restart the laptop and then the sound stopped working altogether.I tried reinstalling the Realtek HD audio drivers that came with the laptop but that didn't work and I still got a "No Audio Output Device is Installed" message in the bottom corner.
I tried reinstalling the drivers AGAIN, and the sound worked. All seemed well until I woke up the next day with no sound yet again.I then tried downloading new drivers from the realtek website, even these drivers didn't work. The only solution to the problem seemed to be basically uninstalling and reinstalling the realtek drivers until they worked, and even then, the sound would still crackle horrendously.After getting fed up with this issue I tried to refresh windows, and even this didn't work.I have tried everything I can think of .....

Jan 9, 2015I have a Dell inspiron n4010 that will not power on, the battery light flashes on for a couple of seconds when I plug the AC power adapter in, and then switches off. The laptop does not respond when I try to power it on.I have tried unplugging the AC power adapter, holding the power button down for 20 seconds and plugging it back in - that did not do the trick either.

Feb 17, 2013I have a year old Inspiron N4010 that as of this morning will not power up. Until that time the charging lights and battery were all indicating the batrery was fully charged and everything was as it should be. This morning when i went to power up there were no lights, the laptop made no sounds....it was dead.
I have checked the power transformer and cord and it has a green light and power. I have taken the battery out and tried to power up. I have taken the battery out and reseeded it. Nothing is working.
I cannot try disabling the touch pad using the key to the right of the F12 key.

Jan 10, 2015I own a Dell Inspiron 3521, and I'd been having an issue with apps not opening and closing when I do try. I went to fix this error. That's when I made a grave mistake. Somewhere along the line of me trying to fix it, I messed with something I shouldn't have and when I finished with my task, I was told to restart the computer to activate the settings. After I turned it back on it seemed normal up to the point after I saw the dell logo. It went black. At first I made the assumption that since I changed settings that it was still trying to configure them. But soon after, I saw my mouse and a little signal flash in the bottom left of my screen. So I checked around and found out that I needed to reinstall windows with disc or USB. But I don't have access to either of those.

This has never happen to me before and I don't know what to do. Today I did a system restore to a few days ago when it was working just fine... nothing happened.. I tried to press the button on the keyboard to turn the wireless adapter on and that didn't work either. I really need this computer at least for a couple more months for my school work.

Mar 8, 2013I start the laptop and I get the black screen with the Dell logo on it. There is a progress bar at the bottom that moves across to the right as the boot up progresses. In the bottom right corner, it shows the option of hitting F2 for Set Up or F12 for Boot Menu. I can access both of these menus. It then progresses to a screen with the Windows logo with the words "Resuming Windows" underneath. Once that completes, I get a black screen!
I was told that I should boot up the laptop in safe mode by hitting F8.....
I can't seem to get this to work.

Is this a problem with the CMOS Battery ? Will replacing the CMOS Battery solve the problem ?
