I was just working on my laptop and all of a sudden it went off. Now when i am trying to turn it on it is not starting. I tried only on power, only battery and both.
But it is not working. And also when i am plugging my charger to charge my battery the LED for charging is not glowing.
But when i diagonosed entire system it shows no problem with fan and at that time it is working OK..but after s/m boot it is not working.i took laptop on 2011 august(inspiron 15 R(..now my charger died and problem start preaching after 1 year.

It used to work fast but suddenly it became very slow. I tried restarting , it got shut down but was unable to start. So I ran diagnostic test which gave an error in hard disk with error code :2000-0142. The next morning I ran the diagnostic test again and it ran successfully without any error.
I formatted it from my recovery disk and it took me almost whole night as the formatting process was also very slow. My laptop still works very slow. It takes almost 15mins for start-up and my applications are also opening too slow.

Purchased a large number of these laptops and I am having several problems with the touchscreen not working. The laptop doesn't even see the hardware. I reloaded the OS, re-seated all connections and it still does not fix it. With the screens on back order. Out of the 10 I repair a week, 8 are touchscreens not working.
View 11 Replies View RelatedIt's not like normal fan working when computer gets cooler stops, when it's heating up starts working. It happened 7 days ago. And that never happened since then. But I'm still wondering why it's happened. My laptop is just a few days old. I was checking my air vent and suspiciously was being silent. After keep checking 5 to 10 min the fan still wasn't not working. And then I started running heavy software like video converting program. CPU was working 100% when I load this, fan still was not working laptop bottom was getting heated up. Then decided to check my cpu temp and installed everest ultimate edition. Everest doesn't recognize both cpu temp and fan.
I restarted laptop because my laptop was getting hotter. And when I restart it, laptop fan started working normally. CPU temp, fan speed are recognized in everest software. After I noticed that in system cooling policy settings was in passive mode on battery. Why it's happened? I doubt it's cord unplugged or sth. Cause software couldn''t detect both cpu temp and fan. Remember, after I restarted software detected the fan and temp, all fan thing go back to normal. And if it was loose connection why it's worked back again when I restarted and still working. I'm not able to give it back.
I was taking my Z690 apart to put in a larger hard drive and I did something wrong because the keyboard no longer works even in the bios. The cable seems snug on both ends. I tried removing it from the motherboard and plugging it back in and it still doesn't respond. I've rebooted - pulled the battery booted again - the 6 key is the only key that works. I've tried caps lock - 6 is the only key that types. The touchpad doesn't work either.

I'm not entirely sure what causes them to stop working, but if I remember correctly, the first time I remember it happening was after I had my computer plugged into the TV via an HDMI cable. Since then, the speakers seem to come and go. I think restarting my computer usually brings them back, but I was curious if there was another way to fix them other than that and if I could do something to keep this from happening in the future. Also, I'm interested in finding out why this is happening to my PC.

Laptop is HP 15-g029wm. Was purchased as display model working. Not used for a month or two now it powers on but no screen.
Battery charged for about 3Hrs.
Indicator light by electrical jack is on.
Fan is on and working.
Wi-Fi light is on.
Hard reset has no effect.( Removed batt. hold power button for 10 sec).
Same results with battery removed.
Caps light flashing 1. Cpu failure?
What else can I try with no screen?
How to get my Acer Aspire E15 laptop (E5-571P-55TL) touchpad working again? It worked when I began using it in January and now does not, and I have been checking the FAQs and spent hours also looking for and downloading user guide info which did not work (maybe I did not EXTRACT it correctly). The little mousepad or touchpad below the physical keyboard.
I use Google Chrome, not Internet Explorer, by the way, and not the Microsoft Account login stuff, which is messing me up too, as first I had to create a password to login to my laptop,then apparently it wants me to create and use another password and login email, which apparently I did once after some problems with it,and now I cannot get it to let me login OR send me a forgotten password for Microsoft Account. It wants to call me at a number whose last 2 digits displayed are not mine!
Inspiron 1300, been plugging an external monitor in & using function F8 for years but it just failed. The monitor isn't recieving the signal anymore. Tried another monitor as well. My laptop screen is lit up as always, and I can see some movement when I cntrl alt delete, but I can't read anything to see what's wrong.Is it my video card? Is that the thing I plug my VGA cord for the monitor into?

The left side speaker (Only the left side) of my laptop is working intermetently. Sometimes it's working, sometimes not. When I tried to tap hard the laptop near the left speaker, sometimes it work but a crackling sound or not clear sound is coming. Should I replace the speaker or a wire inside is loose?
Okay, so. I have an HP Pavilion g6-1145sg. It was working properly all morning, and then I put it to sleep temporarily (about ten to twenty minutes). When I went to turn it on, the screen was black and said something along the lines of "the system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly. Continued operation would not be recommended at this time... may cause unpredictable behaviour that could result in random shut down, data loss or possible system damage."
Then after a few seconds it shuts off completely. There is an option to continue with system resume, and I clicked it once, but it didn't go all the way through to letting me use my laptop properly (I got to my desktop background and it shut down).
I have had it since last August, and it has worked somewhat alright through until today. Of course, the system lags occasionally, but nothing serious, mostly just aggravating.
I am using a HP ProBook 450 G2 with Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit).
None of the Fn + Function keys work (i.e. for battery, brightness , sound).
Is there any actual driver for this?

There is no sound working on my HP and when I try to test it there is a window that shows up saying there is another program running even though I just started up the laptop. The icon on the computer for volume also will not "mute" when I push the button to mute it.

Whenever I pressed the delete key it wouldn't delete what I selected and instead opened up the Key Tips in the ribbon. After having my son look at it he couldn't figure out the problem as well, but he noticed that the Delete key was functioning in the same as the Alt key. Within the last couple of weeks, the sound quit working on my laptop. Since purchasing, I have been able to mute the sound and turn it back on with no trouble, but now when I unmute the sound, nothing happens. The sound icon and the Volume Mixer all show that the sound is working and is set at the highest volume, but nothing comes out. Given that this laptop has beatsaudio, it's frustrating.
