I have driver version 15.0.9 on Synaptics which has the two finger scrolling, three finger flick/press. But I've seen pictures of people with three finger drag(such as top/bottom/left/right of screen to open anything) and pinch zoom. I've tried a few driver versions and can't find which one has both.
So the question is, which driver version has all that I mentioned?
i wanted to know weather the acer 8930g has the thing i cant seem to find out if it does so any one with 8930 have it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased Acer, Aspire V3-572PG (Aspire|V), with Windows 8.1 installed, it has a pinch and zoom screen which is driving me insane. The screen automatically grows to the size of an elephant and or reduces to a postage stamp every few minutes as I use my touchpad, browse or even breathe, I have to manually keep changing the screen size back to 100%, it is impossible to use.
I can't find the settings to edit or disable this....
all of the options work on win7/7229/64 bit.
Even through there are 4 weeks until Win7 officially hits the street. No sense cutting to too close.....
I've been trying to change the sensitivity settings for my touchpad on my Acer Aspire 5610z using the Synaptics configuration utility.
When I goto the Device Settings Tab and click on the settings button i get this error: Windows host process (rundll32) has stopped working.
The Synaptics window whites out and when I click the close button it closes but the application stays in my bottom right taskbar and I can open it again.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program and it isn't helping.
I tried the generic vista driver on the synaptics site. Is there somewhere else I can adjust these settings? I'm really tired of clicking on things on accident because the tap setting is so sensitive. My girlfriends inspiron 1100 is five years old and her program works fine. Is this driver program not working because the version is designed for xp?
i have the aspire 7720g (t7500, 4gb ram, 2 hard disks of 250gb etc) for2 years now....
problem number 1) i just installed windows 7 rtm home premium 32bit and the scroll control on synaptics isnt working, is there any newer driver for synaptics touchpad?
problem number 2) i noticed that from the time i updated bios to 1.45 if i work the cpu in the highest level or even in the middle!, the temperature rises from 70 degrees (on startup!) to 90-100 degrees in 1-2 minutes....i cant work anymore....
yesterday i had to upgrade from vista to windows 7 and i had the laptop directly under the aircondition with the cover open, upside down for 2 hours! the two times i tried to upgrade without doing that the laptop after the first boot (so it uses full of power) after 30-40 seconds shuts down!)
to avoid shutting down itself i did lots of things, i set the cpu speed to the lower option and i work there all the time with a lot of patience of course...........
the things i did to check if all work fine:
tried to clean the fan...ok...nothing changed, fan has no dust and working properly
changed thermal paste with artic silver 5 on cpu and graphics card...ok...nothing changed, maybe earned 10 seconds before its shutting down.... put previous
bios....ok...nothing changed i didnt undervoltaged yet the cpu because i want to see what is the fault with the machine...
i have tried to installed the apps but i cant. the hp support assistant warned me that an important action was needed and on opening to check on the action, i found out that the synaptics touchpad and the realtek local area network had failed to install. both were on the failed items sections and i then redownloaded them through the same hp support assistant. the process went on smoothly and then stopped on the installation section. both the apps are now displayed in the conpleted actions and failed actions boxes. how can i successfully install these programmes?

So I am trying to play Dragon Age Inquisition on my newly aquired Acer VN7-571g. It's equipped with a gtx 850m. When I'm trying to start the game I get this error message "Detected NVIDIA driver is 333.17. The required driver version is 340.52 or later. Please update your drivers at geforce.com/drivers before playing the game" Now the problem is that the driver from acer is version 333.17. If I try to install a newer driver directly from geforce it won't recognize the dedicated GPU and will run on the integrated intel HD graphics in stead.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have found out that the touch pad surface extends further than it should. I have a habit on leaning on my elbow,
when I have my laptop on my legs I put my elbow on the palm rests. I found out quickly though that if I lean on it I end up doing a multi touch zoom,
to start off with I thought my system was just being rubbish but then I tested it again and it worked fine after I took my elbow off.
This must mean that the touch surface extends further than the edge of the "touchpad",
I just wonder how far it actually goes and whether we could make use of it .

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro late 08 2.53 GHz CPU with the 9600 GT card and 4 gigs of RAM. I have Leopard 10.5.7 installed. When zooming in on my photos in iPhoto, it is really stuttery. I am sure it's not a temperature problem because the temp is about 36 degrees Celsius. It is even stuttery when running on the high performance setting.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell E5540 laptop and the touchpad is working fine, except that it won't zoom or rotate. All other gestures work as they should - scrolling, three finger-gestures, ...: no problem. But no zooming or rotating.
Both options are of course enabled in the Dell Touchpad settings. I have removed the touchpad from the device manager and reinstalled it with the most recent drivers, but to no avail.
I think it's a software problem since scrolling with two fingers works without a problem?
While typing on a browser, my screen zooms in and out periodically, and I'm sure it's because I'm accidentally touching something. How do I disable this? I've tried going into mouse/touchpad settings but there isn't any option about changing the zoom.
I use Windows 8.1 and have an HP Notebook 15.
Why the zoom % of webpages randomly changes whilst I am surfing the internet with Mozilla on my Lenovo S10e laptop? It is very frustrating and when this happens I go down to the right hand corner of the application and select 100%. Is this a zoom problem or just the fact it is resizing the pages because of the screen size being very small. Are there any updates or software needed to overcome this problem.

I'm not going to list out all of the new features/gestures you can do, but I've taken a screen shot of the configuration window for the touchpad to give you an idea of what it provides.
Also, I know you can enable some of these things with 3rd party apps, but now its integrated so if you're still using the Dell Driver, you're missing out!

remember reading that the SXPS 16 has a Synaptics supported touchpad or something in it, meaning you can use some multi-touch gestures like pinch zoom etc. Can anyone clear this up for me? Do you have to do anything to enable the additional gestures? Will i need to download some more drivers or something (i haven't gotten my laptop yet.) What gestures will i be able to do with (or without) the driver (if there is one.)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought a E520. I am not liking the touchpad on this thing. It hangs up and does not respond a lot of times.
The biggest thing that irks me is that my screen will zoom in and out when I run my finger along the touchpad or when tapping it. I know you can use the "pinch" with two fingers to zoom in and out but mine will zoom with just a tap of one finger.
How to disable the zoom feature. There must be a way in settings to turn that off. I just want the touchpad to work normally, as in move the cursor around.. thats it, nothing more.
Anyone know something about if dell xps at least that ones sold in 2008 will support those new drivers with gesture control??
I know its a really soon but it says that it already has support for it.. and checking the driver section the drivers there are from last December. Dell support has nothing new neither.

I'm experiencing this problem especially with Internet Explorer 11. I've disabled the zoom feature inside the control panel of synaptics, but very often when I scroll with two fingers the webpage is zoomed.
The strange thing is that the zoom value inside IE doesn't change! In fact if I refresh the page, it comes back at its original zoom aspect.
My touch pad driver recently stopped working the other day. I had not noticed because I always use my VX Nano, but I was out of the house with the laptop for once and had no pointing device when I booted up.
I re-downloaded the Synaptics driver that I had installed previously, but it didn't work. I had to install the Dell driver to get it to work, but on install I noticed it saying it was an Alps, not a Synaptics.
What gives with this? I even remember seeing other posts on here saying to forgo the Dell driver when installing windows and to use the Synaptics driver............................
I am really curious if any other 1340/1640 users have run into a similar situation.
The problem:
when typing on the lappy, sometimes the text jumps to wherever the I beak of the cursor is. At first i thought i was accidentally touching the touchpad with the base of my thumb, but now i'm sure thats not the case
I've already tried uninstalling dells drivers, using the drivers from synaptics website, changing the sensitivity of the touch pad, using the touchpad with no drivers at all (windows drivers only)...
Is there any way to disable the "click" feature on the main part of the touchpad? Like if I tap my finger on the touch pad I do not want it to act as if I had left-clicked...
