Acer :: Synaptics Driver 8.2.19.0 Settings Error W/ Rundll32

I've been trying to change the sensitivity settings for my touchpad on my Acer Aspire 5610z using the Synaptics configuration utility.
When I goto the Device Settings Tab and click on the settings button i get this error: Windows host process (rundll32) has stopped working.
The Synaptics window whites out and when I click the close button it closes but the application stays in my bottom right taskbar and I can open it again.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program and it isn't helping.
I tried the generic vista driver on the synaptics site. Is there somewhere else I can adjust these settings? I'm really tired of clicking on things on accident because the tap setting is so sensitive. My girlfriends inspiron 1100 is five years old and her program works fine. Is this driver program not working because the version is designed for xp?

i have the aspire 7720g (t7500, 4gb ram, 2 hard disks of 250gb etc) for2 years now....
problem number 1) i just installed windows 7 rtm home premium 32bit and the scroll control on synaptics isnt working, is there any newer driver for synaptics touchpad?
problem number 2) i noticed that from the time i updated bios to 1.45 if i work the cpu in the highest level or even in the middle!, the temperature rises from 70 degrees (on startup!) to 90-100 degrees in 1-2 minutes....i cant work anymore....
yesterday i had to upgrade from vista to windows 7 and i had the laptop directly under the aircondition with the cover open, upside down for 2 hours! the two times i tried to upgrade without doing that the laptop after the first boot (so it uses full of power) after 30-40 seconds shuts down!)
to avoid shutting down itself i did lots of things, i set the cpu speed to the lower option and i work there all the time with a lot of patience of course...........
the things i did to check if all work fine:
tried to clean the fan...ok...nothing changed, fan has no dust and working properly
changed thermal paste with artic silver 5 on cpu and graphics card...ok...nothing changed, maybe earned 10 seconds before its shutting down.... put previous
bios....ok...nothing changed i didnt undervoltaged yet the cpu because i want to see what is the fault with the machine...

I have three user profiles in my Compaq Presario CQ-42, one is administrator and others are "Other User". When I fisrt saw the synaptics touch pad settings window through my first "Other User" profile 1, in Mouse Properties->Device Settings->Synaptics LuxPad V7.4->Settings, all the options in this window were available for selection and no one was diabled. Now when I go to "Administrator" Profile, Some of the options in this settings window are disabled and appear to be partly hidden. Like the option "Enable Pinch Zoom in Pinch Zoom section" and "Enable Pivot Rotate in Rotating" appears to be hidden/disabled.
For verifying this, I created the another "Other user" profile 2 but no success and I found the same problem here also. I also tried to unistall the synaptics driver several times from all the profiles but every time I re-installed them and checked to get the same result. The settings were only accessible for "Other User" Profile 1 each time and were disable for Administrator profile and "Other User" Profile 2. I can produce the snaps of same if required.

Even through there are 4 weeks until Win7 officially hits the street. No sense cutting to too close.....

I have driver version 15.0.9 on Synaptics which has the two finger scrolling, three finger flick/press. But I've seen pictures of people with three finger drag(such as top/bottom/left/right of screen to open anything) and pinch zoom. I've tried a few driver versions and can't find which one has both.
So the question is, which driver version has all that I mentioned?

i have tried to installed the apps but i cant. the hp support assistant warned me that an important action was needed and on opening to check on the action, i found out that the synaptics touchpad and the realtek local area network had failed to install. both were on the failed items sections and i then redownloaded them through the same hp support assistant. the process went on smoothly and then stopped on the installation section. both the apps are now displayed in the conpleted actions and failed actions boxes. how can i successfully install these programmes?

It appears that the int15.sys driver was deleted from my computer (running Windows Vista) and now the machine is unable to boot up, even in safe mode. The Acer support folks say my only option is to pay someone to pull the information off of my hard drive, reformat (or recover, as they say), and then move everything back over. This will cost me about $100 and when the computer was only $400 and new two months ago, I don't want to spend more money on this thing.
From what I understand the int.sys driver is used as part of their eRecovery program but is very similar to a spyware or adware file. Therefore, when I was running Webroot's Window Washer program it deleted the driver. It seems like this may be an Acer specific driver and is not on all machines. Does anyone have any other suggestions besides the option Acer game me above?
A couple of ideas I have but would need more help on include:
1) If someone could put this driver on a jump drive or CD, could I tell the computer through command prompts to find the driver?
2) Would a Vista operating system CD be of any help to repair the driver? The support person said that I cannot get an OS CD from Acer, so is there someplace else I could find something like this?
3) I can reset the OS back to factory defaults, so I think the driver is still on there but the master boot record is corrupted. I do not know how to find the drive or update the master boot record.

While installing the Wireless Lan Broadcom 802.11 driver I get the error: Update.cpp 1185. The machine is an E1-532P and this is the only driver which has a problem. Broadcom.com does not provide support for end users.

Well few days ago accidentally I drop my laptop and after that it start become extremely slow.. I tried everything but few hours later I had no access to Window and the message 0x00000e9 again and again! I opened bios just to take a look and HDD had disappeared...I contact Acer and told them my problem.. After that I asked what HDD should I get because I'm not interest to get the same like the old one!I would like to buy a better one (More Rpm, .Capacity and Sata 3 ofc) but they told me that should I buy the same!!!
For sure the old one had failed :-(My laptop is Acer Aspire 5750G i7 and the hard driver was Toshiba MK7559GSXP 750G Sata 2 and Code KH.75004.001I would like to know if mobo can support Sata 3if I buy a new HDD different from what Acer suggest me to do or it will be a bad deal for me and my laptop can't support the new hardware?!

Every time I start up my Extensa 4420, I get the following error message window:
"The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver, or enable your adapter using the Displays Manager."
Why is this happening? If I go into the device manager, it says that the graphics adapter is working. If I tell it to check for updated drivers it says that the driver I have installed is the most current one. Everything seems to work fine on the computer. How can I stop the message from popping up every time?

I got this Aspire 5560G about three years ago and it was running Windows 7. I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 and have managed to find and install all the drivers I need for my lapop to run smoothly, except for the touchpad.
Although it works for moving the cursor and double-tapping to open files etc, it doesn't work to scroll pages. I have tried downloading the latest driver on the Acer Drivers page but it doesn't change any features.

i'm having problems with my new acer v5 touchpad... i made a clean install of windows 8.1 and installed all the win 8.1 drivers from the acer support site. from the device id of my touchpad (ACPISYN1B71) i assumed that it is a synaptics model.
the problem now: after installing several versions of the driver, even trying the alps and elantech versions, i could never manage to get multi-gesture settings in the settings windows from synaptics - there are only settings visible for right- and left-click. where are the multi-touch gesture options for windows 8?
basic funtions work, like left click, two-finger right click and two-finger scrolling, but nothing is configurable and all the other gestures are not available.

I have purchased HP p077tx model laptop,it comes with gt840m but when i am trying to install the drivers it shows the error message"no compatible hardware found" during installation.Furthermore when I checked the device manager it shows no gt840m in the display adpters list,the 3D video controller is showing no driver installed on the PCI 10 bus.

I have a XPS 17 ( L702x) system which is about 1.5 years old. I am getting an error message which states; Driver_Power_State_Failure .... The monitor/screen is also flicking from time to time.
Also, I have recently upgraded from Win 7 to Win 8; could this have contributed to the problem? It was working perfectly until this up-grade.

I have a new Compaq CQ58-353EM laptop. It came with preinstalled system (Windows 8). Afterwards I installed Windows and HP updates.
The problem I have is with the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (ethernet). In the device manager it is shown with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. In the device state it is stated: Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35).
Laptop has all system and hp updates installed.
I tried the following to resolve the problem:
- 2 different bios versions (F.26 and F.25).
- several add/remove/reinstall of the Realtek drivers
- 2 different versions of Realtek drivers: 8.3.730.2012 and 8.20.815.2013 (from Realtek site).
Ethernet is working OK under Ubuntu.

After trying multiple times (both automatically and manually) to install the Nvidia drivers it shows an error saying "you must install an Intel driver first". I realize this is the HP forum, but i've tried contacting Intel with no luck on top of trying every Intel driver that looks even remotely relevant. (most of which error while installing mentioning my computer lacks the requirements for the install).
I've tried updating the drivers automatically through windows on top of disable/uninstall and restart, but the same problem keeps arising.

I had an error code 43, then I uninstalled the driver, rebooted my computer and I can't see it in the device manager anymore. What should I do ? It was previously listed as a Lenovo VHID device, but I can't see that in the device manager either. It also doesn't show up as an unknown device.
I have little knowledge of computer hardware, and I'd like to know what this driver does and what happens if I don't have it, and how do I reinstall it.

just recently discovered this new driver for the 1340 (should work for the 1640 as well) and it brings A LOT of new gestures/features.
I'm not going to list out all of the new features/gestures you can do, but I've taken a screen shot of the configuration window for the touchpad to give you an idea of what it provides.
Also, I know you can enable some of these things with 3rd party apps, but now its integrated so if you're still using the Dell Driver, you're missing out!

remember reading that the SXPS 16 has a Synaptics supported touchpad or something in it, meaning you can use some multi-touch gestures like pinch zoom etc. Can anyone clear this up for me? Do you have to do anything to enable the additional gestures? Will i need to download some more drivers or something (i haven't gotten my laptop yet.) What gestures will i be able to do with (or without) the driver (if there is one.)

Anyone know something about if dell xps at least that ones sold in 2008 will support those new drivers with gesture control??
I know its a really soon but it says that it already has support for it.. and checking the driver section the drivers there are from last December. Dell support has nothing new neither.

My touch pad driver recently stopped working the other day. I had not noticed because I always use my VX Nano, but I was out of the house with the laptop for once and had no pointing device when I booted up.
I re-downloaded the Synaptics driver that I had installed previously, but it didn't work. I had to install the Dell driver to get it to work, but on install I noticed it saying it was an Alps, not a Synaptics.
What gives with this? I even remember seeing other posts on here saying to forgo the Dell driver when installing windows and to use the Synaptics driver............................
