Over the last several weeks, my laptop has been losing power randomly. Â Sometimes it happens when it is running on battery (and has plenty of power), and sometimes it happens when I go to plug it in. Â The computer just turns off. Â How do I resolve this problem?
View 2 RepliesI have had a few problems with my laptop but to cut a long story short not too long ago power was randomly cutting which I think was in part due to a motherboard that dell installed because it did not like new updates anyway they looked at that and I don’t have that issue any more but when I load up games like TF2 which I just installed on the other laptop or even WOW when I played it, it runs for a min or two and then the laptop just cuts.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI keep my computer plugged in when I'm at home, but my power cord keeps "shutting itself off" and stops charging. So sometimes I check my battery power and there's like 24% left. My battery seems to be holding a charge for now, but my power cord seems to randomly fail. Never in my life have I ever heard of power cords failing-I'm sure it happens but this is ridiculous.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi got mine in july and then in september the screen suddenly just went blank and the whole laptop just died.
It wouldnt turn back on and so Dell replaced the motherboard. Laptop came back and worked fine. But then all of a sudden it kept cutting out randomly again but would switch back on.
But then on saturday it cut out and now wont turn back on again. So will have to be sent off again now!
Anyone heard of this problem before? Getting very anoyed by it
Also sometimes the speakers just wont work at all and the CD drive button stays on and keeps trying to eject a disc even if there isnt one in there!
The model is a HP Pavilion 15-n278sa. My laptop shuts down randomly when it is clearly completely cool, when it has shutdown, the power button will not respond, and the laptop will flash on, and shutdown immediately if it is moved/picked up/tilted, while it is off.The laptop is increasingly getting more unstable and I'm unable to use it...
View 8 Replies View RelatedFor a while now, my wireless has been cutting in and out and sometimes takes about a half hour to an hour to be able to connect again. Other laptops in the house connect to the same internet connection just fine. I met a girl last night who was saying how her internet wont connect anymore and she had the same laptop as me so I'm assuming its the computer and not the internet.
even before this issue though, the wireless networks window, when you click on the two computers to see the different connections, it always freezes to a white window to begin with and will take up til an hour to actually show the different connections.
This problem is incredibly annoying and i just want a solid internet connection without it cutting out .
My XPS 14z isn't even one year old and it feels like 3 years old because of this problem. It is always just randomly shutting down. No warning, nothing, it just cuts off. The screen goes black and when I turn it back on, its like I did a "force shut down" so I always have to select "start windows normally".  I actually started keeping a list of all the times it has shut down because it happens so often. I just like pick it up, or slightly shift the computer and bam the screen goes black. Also sometimes the laptop will shut down and wont even turn back on until I plug in the power cord! I am tired of the laptop shutting down in the middle of something important!
View 14 Replies View Relatedi have a dell inspiron b130 and every once in a while the thing just shuts off lke the bat has been takin out, no shutdown process or nothin. i know the battery is shot, i was just wondering if its the cord or the ac jack on the computer itself? i can mess with the cord by the computer and i can get it to work. but also the cord has been chewed on near in the middle between the ac plug and the power brick....

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been having this issue for about a week or so. I thought perhaps it was because I updated the ATI driver, but I did a rollback and the issue still persists.
I have checked my battery settings and nothing stands out. I don't have my laptop set to go to sleep under any circumstances other then closing the lid, but during operation it will just go to sleep.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. When it goes to sleep, sometimes the power button is unresponsive in waking the computer back up. It will take quite a while before I am able to do anything to get the computer back up and running.
i have a inspiron 6400 and this has never happend other then today... About every 2 mins the screen goes dark.. not black but only things i can make out are very light color things...
and i have trouble even doing that... i can make it go away by shuting the screen and letting it hibernate... Or by pressing Fn / f8 But thats geting old..
My brand new m1330 (I've had it less than a week) has been making a high pitched beeping noise completely randomly. I havn't noticed any pattern in when it makes the noise either, whether it be plugged in, on battery, plugged in without a battery, battery settings on power saver, battery settings on performance, none of it makes a difference.
The kind of beep seems random as well, sometimes it is a single beep, other times it is a few beeps strung together like a chirping noise.
Nothing happens on screen when the beeps occur either. I've done some googling, and cant find an answer to why its beeping.
I guess my primary concern would be if this is a problem, and if i need to contact dell about it. Or, if anyone else has experienced this, and whether or not there is an easy fix for it. Its kind of annoying, and I've gotten a few funky looks in class.
I have a strange issue I was hoping one of you could help me solve. I have a dell latitude d620.
I bought this laptop used and always had some issues with it. At first the machine used to have some random power failure, where i would plug it in and the screen would go black. So I went ahead and replaced the motherboard.
Now after many months I took the machine to work and when i got home it will randomly freeze. I went ahead and tried a different harddrive, with the same result. So I tried to reformat the drives and it occurs on both as well
I reinstalled my Studio15 with XP Pro SP3 and every now and then (1-2 every 30min), the windows key will simply turn on like capslock.
so... if I type R, it opens the RUN prompt.
Type L, it locks the pc.
If I tap the Win-key, it "turns itself off" again.
I have a Dell Latitude D800 that will not power on. When the power button is pushed the green power indicator light comes on, the CDROM spins for a moment, but then nothing happens, there is no BIOS information displayed, no power on self test, no Dell logo. It just sits there with the green power light on.I have tried removing the power & battery then pressing the power button for 10 seconds (actually, I have tried as long as 60 seconds). I have tried to turn on with the power connected but not the battery. I have tried removing the connector cable for the power button and the connector cable for the display and then reseating them.

Dell Inspiron 1505 Bios A-14
So my E1505 randomly stopped working on me. I'm thinking the mobo is shot, but thought I would ask everyone here and see if you can shed some light on it.
So basically, the machine just shut off and when I try to turn it on the numlock button lights up, and the caps lock and scroll lock buttons flash. This lasts for about 30 seconds, and then all power shuts off. Nothing comes up on the screen, and it doesn't even sound like it is trying to work. I've checked all connections, reseated/thermal greased CPU, everything I could think of.
i have a Dell XPS M1330 , First problem was a GPU failure & i had to change the motherboard ( Nvidia GPU ) . & it worked great .
After that the charger is no more working, And i had to order a new one & everything went great also .
A weak ago, It started to show a battery failure " Battery not detected " error message . But it's still running with Power Adapter .
The serious problem is that the computer started to shutdown randomly .....

Having issues with my XPS 14z freezing randomly. The system never seems to be overheating when this problem occurs and it has occurred when I've had as little as one program running. I have had issues with this laptop shutting off randomly before. Dell sent someone out to replace the motherboard, heatsink and fan and this had the system running reasonably well for a while. However now I have been presented with a new issue which could be related to the one I was having before?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have had a problem with the DVD drive for a few months now. Sometimes the light on it flashes and you here it attempting to look for a DVD (When it's empty). When it's full it sometimes flashes and runs autorun. After it flashes it also ejects half the time, and also it'll just eject randomly without any warning or loading noises.
I explained the problem to Dell and they sent me a replacement DVD drive, but the problem still happens, so I'm guessing it's not the DVD drive itself.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could solve this problem?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having some trouble with my Internet explorer. At times when I am surfing, hundreds of new IE windows open up randomly and they keep on opening up till I kill the process in the Task Manager. I did a full system scan using Mc Afee but it says the system is clean.
if this is malware or some wierd IE bug?
so sometimes my laptop will just randomly beep twice then something clicks... It just does it randomly, sometimes when I turn my laptop off and just randomly when it's running. The beeps are short.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a latitude E6540 and when I connect a external usb 3.0 disk it begins connect and disconnect randomly. I have tryed another disk and I have the same problem. This USB disk in other latitude E6540 works fine. I have disabled power option in the usb devices and reinstall drivers but nothing solved the problem.

I have had my laptop for about a year already. Once every session (every time I turn on and shut down), my laptop randomly and unexpectedly freezes. The freezing issue last up 1 min - 2 min. Thinking it was a virus, I restored the laptop back to factory settings. The freezing continued.

I have one charger at work powering a dock and a different adapter at home. The laptop beeps randomly both.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy wife's Inspiron 1545 from late 2008 is having a new issue wherein it is randomly shutting off but not due to heat. Â The computer will shut off when not connected to AC power randomly. Â Sometimes it will last 10 minutes, other time 40. Â What's odd the is computer reads anywhere from 50% - 85% battery life left. Â
I'm certain it's not overheating because it doesn't get hot. Â Also,I disassembled rear cover and reset the CPU cooler with new thermal paste as a precaution yet the problem persists.
I ran the boot hardware diagnostic test all the way through with no errors. Â The harddrive has no audible clicking/crunching which usually indicates an HDD headed south.
