View 3 Replies View Relateddell, lenovo all use 1366x768 resolution screens which are perfect 16:9 widescreen. I personally find them much more visually appealing than a 16:10 screen. Why does hp stick with 1280x800 which is 16:10??

The difference in the screen resolution would cost me around $100. I would never really use the 1920x1200 for gaming, but it would come in handy while doing homework with multiple windows.
I currently have a DV9500 and a DV5. The DV9500's 1440x900 is excellent for me and I would see no reason to go above that resolution. However, the DV5's 1280x800 is just too small for me (almost even for internet browsing). It just doesn't seem like the 1366x768 would be much different. So for those who have the lower res HDX16t model, would you upgrade to the larger resolution if you had the chance or are you happy with your current setup?
One of the features that attracts me to the HP Mini 2140 is the availability of a 1366x768 display (rather than 1024x576, which is standard- on the 2140 and on almost every other netbook available). But the higher resolution display just shows (Coming Soon) when I click on the Specs for the Mini 2140....
when the high-resolution display will actually be available for ordering on it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking at the differences between the dv3t (which comes with a 9 cell) and the dv4t (12 cell).
With the discount coupon, I can get a model with equal specs for the same price. However, the only difference is the smaller form factor in the dv3t, and the smaller battery. Does the smaller 13" screen for the 9 cell compensate same battery life for the larger 14" screen and the 12 cell?
i see alot of people o here with 520m is there something wrong with the 430m all I can see is the 520m has a .17 difference is there anything else.

I wanna switch from my factory hard drive to a 7200 500gb 3.0 gb/s WD hard drive. Will I notice a dramatic difference in the performance of my computer. Also, can I use recovery discs or my factory reformat dvd to make this new drive bootable?
View 3 Replies View RelatedRegarding the trackpoint and touchpad on the Dell m4400 and the Lenovo t500. I've understood that most people think the touchpad on the t500 is better. But how big is the difference between them? Will I even notice any difference? Is it the software or the hardware that makes the difference?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am considering a new laptop. The HP I am consdering has ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 graphics with 128MB cache memory. The other I am considering is the Samsung R580 which has a smaller screen, smaller battery, but 512MB dedicated video. Since the HP has an 8 cell, it will get beter battery life.
So, the 4200 is integrated into the AMD Turion chip, yet has 128MB memory onboard for the graphics chip whereas the Samsung has a separate GPU?
Both laptops have bluray and are within $50 of each other in price.
I am selling my 7800gtx that i have in the 9300 now and putting the ATI x300 back in. Well when i did the screen has a max resolution of 1280x800. I tried deleting the lcd and x300 then re installing both but its the same. I reformated the laptop and loaded the Dell x300 driver and still 1280x800 resolution.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm considering buying a Dell e6400 or Dell e6500. I'd prefer the I'd prefer a 15.4' screen. However, if I get that I feel like I probably should get a higher res than the basic 1280 x 800. Ideally I want 1440 x 900.
The problem is Dell only seems to offer the higher resolution in a glossy screen on either model (at least in Canada) - "UltraSharp™ Wide WXGA+ (1440x900) LED Display-Brushed Metal Black". I spoke to Dell and they said it's something in b/w an anti-glare screen and a consumer glossy screen, but I'm not sure what to make of that.
I'm wondering if anyone has this type of screen and can tell me what their experience has been? How glossy is it?
I mainly will use my laptop for writing and office work - in coffee shops, offices or the library - so I don't like have a screen that is reflective. I much prefer an anti-glare screen. I've thought about just buying the e6400 with the anti-glare 1280x800 LED screen, but like I say, would prefer to get a bigger screen if possible, so wanted to see how glossy these screens really are.
According to specifications from Dell's web site 1280x800 display has considerably smaller viewing angle than display with 1440x900 resolution,
particularly for vertical angles, which are +15°/–30° for the former and ±45° for the latter model.
Can anyone confirm that difference is this significant in practice as well?
And how do they compare in color and overall image quality, as 1280x800 is LED as well on 1537 according to specifications.
I am not looking from the movies aspect, but to run day to day applications or comparing two documents side by side.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWould all of you suggest how much much difference 1920x1080 will make over 1366x768 on Studio 15 i.e. 15.6'' screen?
One thing I know is that the font size will be small for more resolution.
Would you list the pros. & cons. of the higher resolution?
Is it worth to pay the difference .....
thinking of getting the Vaio Z but still cannot decide which resolution to go for (1366x768 or 1600x900). I've got some pics that should help you guys out. Unfortunately, I do not have any side by side comparison photos between the 2 of them. Furthermore, I do apologize for my very poor camera & photography skills.
One thing to take note of is that for both Vaio Z, all the setting are in their "default" values (Default screen resolution, 96 DPI, etc.)
For all the pairs of photos:
Left - 1366x768
Right - 1600x900

My sister wants to buy a netbook and likes the Mini 10. We both prefer to buy from the Dell Outlet (and I've got a coupon right now) and they've got quite a few of the regular Mini 10 units (not the 10v) in stock.
My instinct is to go for the higher resolution (1366x768) display vs. the standard-issue netbook WSVGA (1024x600) display. But I'm wondering if the 10.1" display is too small for the high resolution?
How do the two displays compare in terms of brightness, contrast and overall image quality?
all available screen resolutions on the full hd version (1920x1080) of their 6930/6920? I'd like to know if it can be reduced to 1366x768 before I buy the notebook so I can have a true pixel for pixel reproduction when connected to my HD ready plasma. I know I could just buy the lower resolution version of this notebook but I've read that 768 vertical pixels is not enough for this 16" display, too much scrolling it seems and one review even said that graphics on the screen look almost jagged when compared side by side to a notebook with a higher resolution.
