Feb 28, 2009
i have a dv4-1155se, and the hd get hot, yesterday i dont do nothing expecial, only open an msn or a firefox, and about 3 hours latter the hd had a temperature about 55°C, i think, its not normal, please i need information about users who has hp dv4, dv5, or dv7 series, please, if the users can put theirs values about Hd temperatures i apresiate to much, my hd notebook its a toshiba

I've been wondering if anyone with the GPU HD 4650 could post your temperatures. I'm looking into a 2177, with P7550 and HD4650. But searching about the temperatures, I've encountered some people with problems (on older models...)
reporting your temperatures?
Also, does the keyboard, or the place where your wrist "sits" gets hot?
I'm really worried about the temperatures because my actual notebook (which has the same HD4650, but a little bit underclocked) has temperature issues. I can't even run Crysis on full settings that it will just go all black and I have to force the shutdown.
Having just got rid of a dv2104eu, i just got a dv6-1131ea, which is hitting 50-60 when idle, i just fired sims 3 up and it hit 85? Is this normal for a turion RM-75 on it's first day or should I send it back to HP for excess heat?
It doesn't fill me with confidence after my last experience with AMD. The intel DV6799ea with a t8100 is cooler under load than this new baby is when it's idling!
Is it just the way AMD is, or something wrong with my laptop?
The computer is about 5 months old. I am using it over a notebook cooler like this one [url], and about 2 inches above the table. Are these normal temperatures, especially regaring to the GPU? Up to now, I haven't experienced any freezzing, lagging, shutdown, blue screens or lines in screen yet, but it get's excessively hot, more on its right upper side.
i have a hp dv5t with a 2 ghz intel T5800 and a Nvidia 9600 512 mb gpu. I was just wondering what good temperatures for this computer are, because im trying to be really cautious with this computer since my last one broke. Also is there anything I can do to reduce temperatures other than cooler? I have one but doesn't seem to do much. and by good temps i mean temps that might necessarily make the computer fry but i dont want to put undue stress on it either.
i purchased one compaq cq45-137tx in december. I guess it' similar to the dv4t models marketed in other countries.
there are couple of temperature issues with this lappy ( ambient temp 25-30C):
1. at idle ( just media player or maybe a pdf file open), the cpu temp is at 43C, northbridge always above 50, gpu always above 55.hd also tends to operate at 45-48C. this is inspite of the fact that i am running this thing with no vents blocked ..and in fact the RAM, cmos battery and hd covers removed to allow better air circulation.
2. at normal load ( game like burnout paradise, with utor going on in background), cpu tends to reach 60 C, gpu at 80 C , northbridge at 70C and hd at 60 C.
3. cpu temp never seem to change really. tried using various s/w' like realtemp ( shows 28 C for gpu..which i dont think is feasible). only when i reboot after a high load session, the s/w' show higher temperatures ( and the notebook shows erratic behavior with display artifacts!).
4. the only fan in the machine never appears to speed up or down. i don't have an issue with the noise, as long as it helps this thing run cooler.......
My HP dv5t is about 10 months old, with a P8600 and Geforce 9600 GT. After just an hour of playing Company of Heroes, my max temperatures for the CPU is 95C and GPU is 110C. I didn't lift the back since I can't right now, but even when I do have it lifted, I think only the GPU goes down to about 99C or so while the CPU is still around 95C max. The CPU idles at 58-60C and GPU about 68-70C.
Anyway, I tried blowing some compressed air in it and it looks good a few weeks ago, but I'm still getting these temperatures. I'm really concerned since I haven't found any posts where others have this degree of overheating, maybe it's just me? I'm not playing on my lap or bed so it's not that. I don't really experience any glitches or crashes yet, but it seems like others have problems at temperatures that aren't as high, so it's probably only a matter of time. I run stock drivers and bios and haven't done anything drastic to it. When I first got this, the temps maxed out at around 80 for CPU and 95 for GPU. But yeah, anyone else having this bad of a problem and what can I do right now?
Here's an image, I wish I had those min temps as idle but those were when the computer just turned on:
Basically I've been messing around with the OCing of my CPU since I've finally got all my temperature issues sorted. Firstly, I notice that my CPU temps at times are erratic, jumping/falling up to 10C at a time. Is this normal?
Secondly, my CPU temps after a short gaming session were CPU1: 66C/ CPU2: 80C This seems a bit strange to me. Does anyone know why CPU2 might be so much warmer?
Thirdly, related to the above, is 80C @ 3.4GHz good, bad or average? If I was running at 80C for hours can I expect this to do any damage? I know the CPU can handle up to 105C, however that doesn't mean something below can't cause damage. Confirmation on this would be great :-)
As some of you may know (I've been posting in the throttling threads) my SXPS1640 is being replaced due to ridiculous heat and throttling issues. I finally got information on my new laptop which actually WILL be new as it's being built from the ground up just as if I had ordered it, also included is the 130W power adapter, I have some questions about it though as I'm unfamiliar with some of the hardware in it.

What is Battery Drain? -When your computer is turned off or in sleep mode and looses large amounts of battery life.
How do I know if I am affected? -To my knowledge, ALL Vaio CW computers (at least with the i5 and 330m combo). I have come to to this conclusion because I have had two of these with the same issue and I have yet to see more than one person say they do not have it on a Vaio CW
How can I fix this? -Right now there is no fix for loosing battery life while 'Shutdown'. As for sleep mode, you can help make the loss less substantial by doing a 'clean install' Instructions here And also make sure that you have these settings in the 'advanced power options'
Tests: All tests have been run on two different VPCCW27FX notebooks
Test 1: 100% Battery, 4 hrs shutdown: 90% Test 2: 65% Battery, no HDD, 3hrs shutdown: 48% Test 3: 48% Battery, 'Power Saver' battery mode, 5.5 hrs shutdown: 20% Test 4: Wifi Switch off Test 5: 50% Battery, Battery out: 50%
Conclusions: At the time being, there is no fix or known cause for the battery drain while shutdown. For now, myths of a clean install or using different windows battery settings make no difference, which means this is either a problem with the motherboard, BIOS or the battery it's self.
I have an HP laptop. Model: G72-B6OUS Serial: Â SCB1012PGL Â When I put a DVD into the laptop it doesn't play. Â I tried Windows Media Player, QuikTime and Real Player with no success. Â When I go to Device Manager I see Device Status: Â Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) Â I tried downloading the device driver and it failed: Â HP CDDVDW TS-L633R
I replaced the system board for an Acer Aspire 5552, and noticed that the product information for the machine, IE: Serial Number, SNID, etc are not flashed into the BIOS. The serial number for this is listed just as 123456789. Do any of you know how I can get my information flashed into the BIOS?
I just recieved my Aspire 8930. But Im having a problem.
While filling out the information for my operating system, it randomly decided to BSOD on me, loading the dump information then going to a black screen. Now when I turn it off and try to turn it on, the hard drive doesnt click on or even blink the little display, neither does the screen flicker on.
I didn't realize that my motherboard was bad from the factory.  From the very first day I was unable to do a full factory restore.  I would always have to send it in to HP.  I was sent a motherboard and after installing it I was able to do a full factory restore.  It was amazing... However, I now have this error message on bootup.  What exactly does this mean?  When I go into the BIOS, All the information about the system is xxxxxxx. When I go into HP support assistance. The product name, serial number, and product number is  yyyyyyyy.  I know this is wrong, why?
I have a G710 that I just purchased this week and just got around to setting up my cell phone to bluetooth some photos to it and found the G710 could not be discovered so I checked and found this error message in the properties status for the bluetooth as:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"...
I have HP Probook G2 G6W28EA#ACB. When I did off of my laptop I had a problem. It is not off up to the end ( key lights was on).I swithed off it only by taken out battery.I recovery OS from boot sector SSD HP ( by F11). After that on the client security screen I found all recovery logins. After last recovery I do not see any logins on the client security screen? but see in BIOS ( by F10 in BIOS). How to go back to factory settings of Bios and delete from Bios all informations about users.
i usually leave my laptop on my desk, which is about 6 in. away from the window. lately, gpu temp has hit a low of 32 c, core temps of 16 c. i need to know if this is a dangerously low temperature to operate the computer. if i should move the desk or laptop or what.
I've owned my M1330 for a few months now, and have been very happy with it. But today, all of the sudden, things changed. I understand that a fan speeds up when a laptop gets hot, but this is not the case here.
All of the sudden today, this started happening: The fan is always on (around 3000rpm). However, the temperatures are usually low (CPU:38-50 , GPU:47-49). The laptop doesn't even get hot.
I've already cleaned the dust out of the the fans/vents, just in case.
