I recently purchased a G2 HP 250 Notebook (F0Y78EA) with SO Freedos.I installed Windows 7 32-bit.I noticed that the three USB ports (two 2.0 and one 3.0) do not work.Usb device is not detecting . In "Device manager" usb controller is showing in other devices.Windows Update can't find the driver.I tried to download some drivers from HP with no result.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Latitude E6430 laptop running windows 7 64-bit. When I try to use it with a docking station, the USB ports on the docking station do not work. When I try to use a USB mouse with it, it only works with one of the USB ports. When I try using my printer (HP laserjet 1320) through the USB ports, it doesn't work (it did previously with a Dell latitude E6430 running windows 7 64-bit).
I've installed the latest BIOS upgrade, updated the USB and intel chipset drivers. How do I get these working?
I just installed XP throught bootcamp on my macbook (black book, the one that was available right before the aluminum ones).
I have two problems.
1. My Apple wireless keyboard does not work.
2. My wireless keyboard does not work when I plug it into my macbook.
i can't get my xps 435 mt (running vista 64 home premium) to recognise my new seagate back armour 2tb drive via eSATA. The drive works fine with USB connection, but is not recognised via eSATA. In BIOS the drive doesn't appear in the list of drives under eSATA either.
I searched and found a similar post but it was someone with RAID setup and the solution there doesn't work for me. Checking for relevant 435mt updates on the dell site - I can't update intel matrix storage manager r205899, as you need to be set as RAID in the BIOS for it to work. When I install r205900, it installs some files, but nothing happens.
I have looked for driver or firmware updates for my eSATA drive on the seagate site - nothing there either. Can't think of what else to try... Dell support will charge to help me since I'm out of warranty (even though it's highly likely to be an issue with the eSATA since I got my system).
Hi, I'm going to be getting a Dell D830, What OS should i get installed. I can get Vista ,Windows 7, XP?
Spec's on it are Core 2 Duo 2.5GHZ T9300, 4GB's Of ram, and All that good stuff!
I know it is Linux, but does it have the usual Linux stuff installed, such as emacs, bash, etc?
If not, can I install them myself? I am seriously thinking about buying a business-class notebook and comparing between Lenovo X200, Sony Z, and Dell Latitude E4200.
just moved to BD+ and my Power DVD 7.3 can't handle it anymore and I'm getting really frustrated with trying to get my blu rays to work. Cyberlink is a terrible company probably run by like 3 guys. The customer support is awful and I can't get anything to work anymore. I'm begining to think that getting blu ray on laptops was a bad idea. WHo knew they were going to change things on a month to month basis.

I got my new Sony Vaio NW 275 with blu ray and the ati 4570. I formatted the HD and installed a new copy of Windows 7 64 bit. I also have Powerdvd and Arcsoft total media theater. When I launch one of these programs it will start fine. But when I click the play button to play either a DVD or Blu-Ray the apps both crash everytime. And they are all patched up to the latest version. Am I missing something here? Did I not install something after I formatted?

What I am wondering is, is that technology built into the HDD itself like the Seagate GForce Momentus HDDs, or is Protectsmart Hardware external to the HDD and located somewhere else inside the unit. The reason I am wondering is I am thinking about going up to a 7200rpm drive and I want to know if I have to get one that has the accelerometer technology built into it like the GForce Seagates do, or will any 2.5 SATA drive work with Protectsmart?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had bought this laptop yesterday from Costco, it was pretty cheap and I loved the num pad. My problem with it is of course, Vista. I tried to run Fallout 3 on it and it only ran on Low Settings and was just unplayable with how jerky it was. I was thinking it might be better if I were running XP, at least getting me Medium settings. Anyone have this laptop or does anyone know where I could find a list of components to see if I can actually get drivers. Only a few show up on hp.com and I've already returned the laptop instead of just trying it. I should mention I know I didnt buy a gaming laptop, I just want to run a few games.

So I figure its time to start shooting some video again with it. on HI8.
But wonder what might be involved with pluging in my older video cameras RCA cables into my Mac & making it all download to my I-Movie or whatever I have to do?

I'm away from home and only have access to dial-up. The problem is, I can't get my Apple USB modem to work. My second problem is that I can't seem to locate the driver package anywhere online. Could anybody point me to where I could download the leopard drivers for the modem so I can try reinstalling them?
I can dial out, but the modem will not negotiate a connection with the remote server. Every other machine in the house will do it, as will my USR external modem attached to my macbook. So its not a server side issue.
When i open my Dell XPS 12 and turn it on the physical keyboard not the touch screen keyboard does not work all it does is make a clicking sound im not sure why.

i have an xps m1530 and my ac adapter died out recently. i looked at the ac adapters listed for my laptop at dell.com and they only had two options available, which i did not like.
so i looked at other ac adapters from the website and the ones i like say "product description for dell inspiron, stuido, and latitude laptops" or something similar in that line.
i didnt see any for xps, just for inspirons, studio, studio xps, and others. im looking to buy a 90W 3 prong ac adapter and would any 90W 3 prong ac adapter from dell.com work with my xps m1530?..

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a new XPS laptop and wish to sell on my old Inspiron laptop, however I've lost all my restore disks and OS disk for it that came with it. What I do have is my OS disk and driver disks that came with my new XPS laptop.
I know I'm not able to use the driver disks on my Inspiron because it's different hardware, but do we think the OS disk will install Vista on my Inspiron?
Both have their own Vista licences stuck to the bottom of the laptop and both are licenced for Vista Home Premium, so as far as I can make out this would be lawful.
So would the OS disk work? I can't see any reason why not and suspect that the OS disk doesn't include any specific drivers or anything. The only thing I noticed is that the installation doesn't prompt for a key, so I was concerned about that part.
I took Vista off about two months ago and would love to put it back on but Dell still has not updated their video card drivers and I am told thats what has to happen to make Vista compatible with Dells D/Dock. Does anyone have the D/Dock working with Vista or have any goo ideas how I could get he D/Dock to work with Vista?

During setup I press F6 to install ICH8M driver. The driver is loaded sucessfully from a floppy disk.
Later when the windows installer prompt whether to Install Windows, Repair or F3 to quit; I select install windows and it prompts unable to detect hdd.
