HP Pavilion G6 OS/Software :: Windows Isn't Recognising SD Card
Oct 10, 2014
I have a HP Pavilion g6 notebook PC with a fresh install of Windows 8.1. By fresh install, I mean its got re-installed completely so no hp support and other stuff like that. The produst number is E5L22EA#ABU. I tried updating the device but it could'nt find a driver online or offline. I also tried installing all updates including optional ones. In addition, I also tried going on hardware troublesooting but, yet again, it couldn't find a driver to insatll online or offline.
I have a Dell D620, approx 2 years old that has been a real work horse....until recently. For some unknown reason it now does not recognise either of the two batteries I use in it. The spare one slots into the DVD bay when I need extra juice.
Now I know that batteries deteriorate around the 2 year mark but both of them on the same day doesn't seem right??? All I now get is the yellow flashing battery indicator and it only runs on mains powere.
I'm happy to buy another battery but would prefer to resolve the current problem first if at all possible - any suggestions greatly received?
My HP Pavilion dv6 SD card reader is not working after windows 8 upgrade (6 months ago). Previously it was working fine when I was using Win 7 (which is the default OS with this laptop). Â I cant find the device in Device manager (under System Device or Disk Drives).
i upgraded from Windows 7 Home premium to Windows 8 pro . Eversince, my AMD radeon HD 7400M series graphic card is not functioning. Further , bluetooth is also not functioning .
I already installed Windows 8.1 64-bits on my laptop and the Wifi Card wasn't already installed. I tried to download the Wifi Card driver and I found 3 drivers :  MediaTek(Ralink) 802.11 Wireless LAN (WLAN) Adapter [URL]....
I have a SONY VIAO VGN-SZ433N_B. I'm constantly reminded that there are new updates for my lap top, but when I try to install I am told 'VAIO Update 4.0 is required. VAIO Update (Ver. 4.0 and above) is required on your VAIO Notebook.'
So I installed Sony Update 4.0.0.08240 but still it isnt recognised. I have even tried to uninstall the previous Update module and then re install without success. I keep getting the same message, indicating that the Viao Update 4 I have isnt being recognised.
I have searched the boards and have not found an answer to my built in SD card reader not working any more. It worked fine until a couple weeks ago. When I go to "my computer", the sd card does not show up as an available drive. I have tried several cards with no luck. The cards work fine when I use a USB card reader, just not the built in one.I checked the driver in device manager - at least the one I believe is the correct one - Realtec PCIE Card Reader.
Recently I got a wireless router HUAWEI EchoLife HG520s Home Gateway installed by my Internet provider. My HP dv8320us laptop has an Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection, but I can't get connected to my wireless network . The blue light of the wireless connection is on (blue), but I can't view other wireless networks to connect .
Whenever I play a game, sooner or later, the computer just promplty shuts down. The part of the computer which holds the graphics card is then generally very very hot, which leads me to guess that this is the problem. Note that it sometimes can run for several hours without complications, but other times it wont even take half an hour. It's getting very frustrating and this combined with a lot of other issues makes it an altogether very unpleasent experience using HP.
I have updated the bios, but not changed anything in it - no overclocking or anything.
I bought a dv9730nr about a year and a half ago and never had any problems with it until a week ago. I was playing PES 2010 and suddenly, after the menu screen the screen went to black, everything froze and this weird "color" barcode appeared on top of the screen. I freaked out and rebooted the laptop, but it didn't even show the bootsplash and the "barcode" still appeared on top of the pitch black screen... after a couple of tries, I could get it to show the bootsplash and actually managed to system-restore it. Then it crashed again and I had to repeat the process.
When I actually got it working, I tested it again with a different game, and this time it gave me the nvlddmkm driver error and a BSOD. After the reboot, there was this ugly barcode again, so I had to repeat the "process" (rebooting time and time again until bootsplash appeared). Though it worked for a couple of days, yesterday I tried to watch a video and it froze, no nvlddmkm error, just the black screen and the color barcode. It took me hours to get around that and when I thought everything was fine (as fine as things could be, anyway), surfing the net and watching some images... bam, the screen went to black and I had to force a shutdown. Again, ugly barcode on top after I rebooted... but this time I have been trying since yesterday to get around it and do a system restore but to no avail - every single time I reboot, there's this black screen with those vertical color lines...........
i  tried to play some games but i am getting error that my graphic card drivers are either not installed properly or they are missing altogether. when i access the link mycomputer/manage/ divice manager/ display adapter, the radeon card  is working properly. but when i right-clicking on desktop and click graphics properties, it getting error that no AMD graphics driver installed,or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Is there a way to reduce the amout of RAM allocated for video card?I don't play games so only 16-32Mb should be more than enough. I have 4Gb of RAM and only 2.99 are available. I know that for a 32bit OS only 3.4-3.6Gb are available.

We have purchased an HP Pavilion G6 2300st to our parents with Windows 8 installed. Unfortunately, they are having diffuculties to use Windows 8. So I thought that we need to downgrade to the windows 7.  I tried to install Windows 7 last night and I wasn't be able to do so because of Legacy Support and UEFI etc.  After that, little search on the web and I think I will be able to install windows 7 now. However, when I was searching on the web I realized there are many people have the same problem includign drivers problems. Then I find out that G6 2300st does not have W7 drivers.  I found someone here downgrade the G6-2306el to W7 in link. [URL] ......  Now here is the question; Can I use the same drivers that stated in those posts?
locate working drivers for G6 2300st for the Win7 OS?
I downgraded to windows 7 and now my internet is not working neither are my fn keys in particularly the one that turns the wireless on and off is not working either. I looked at the bottom of my laptop and this is the model.
